Hmm, I think Contador and I know what you mean about Evan's attitude off the bike but I still like him. He's all over the bike and he's an animal. He may not look the prettiest (he's a mountain biker after all ;)) but that's why I like him. He also never seems to have any sort of team around him so you have to have guts to try and do it alone. I felt so bad for him last year up d'Huez (which I climbed this weekend) when the Schleck brothers were double teaming him, hitting him one after another....it was painful to watch.

Argh, it's amazing how you blank them out. Bellion and Kleberson....oops. Interesting blog from McNulty on the Beeb: Blog.

Damn, there's always one more to add to the list. Prunier....Barthez...

Matt, why have you started with the name calling again? I go away for a couple of nights to climb some alps and come back to United signing Owen and 'Lazy Bones Berbatov'. Come on, you can do better than that. How about analysing his playing rather than jumping on name calling band wagons after all that so called lazy player has a Premiership medal in his pocket. Seems to me that you might be a little bit annoyed about the signing. I know it would annoy me, so just admit it and move on ;). I'm not sure that Owen is going to be that good but he's cheap, he can score if he's fit (and I think we can keep him fit better than most teams) and I trust everything Fergie does.....like Veron, Forlan, and Djemba Djemba :))

If Lance can't win it (he won't) I'd like to see Evans winning with the smug Schlek brothers getting dropped. I think it's Contador or Sastre's year though. Great win for Cav today though!

I have to say (for a change ;)) I agree with AG. I know there are government shananigans with Real but shirt sales etc alone cannot finance this kind of buying and it's not just the initial outlay it's the wages on top. Matt, I assumed those comments were made by the Real because people were asking about the deal being in place already and Real not being allowed to disclose the fact.

I thought Arsenal were doing ok. It's everyone else (apart from City) who is in the hole.

Hmm, that's the question a lot of United fans have been asking, especially as, like Barry, he said he wanted European football. So, Real have another ?100M to spend. I don't know why they don't just buy a whole other club....maybe Southampton. :)

...Spurs 0?

And slap your kids for nothing!

Looks like we got our man. Have to wait and see if he's good enough: Valencia!

Try this one on August bank holiday monday. Thames Turbo Races It's a fantastic beginners tri at Hampton Court, pool swim and flat bike ride. I've done it a couple of times (as well as others) and I love it. I could even offer you a lift if you like. There are people of all levels, breast strokers people on hybrids and mountain bikes as well. It's always worth just doing one asap and I bet you are hooked enough not to wait for next year for your next!

It's just over a mile. Maybe 1.1 miles. I ran it a lot in marathon training but can't remember the exact length.

I don't get your logic. I think you are right that he hasn't shown whether he has the potential (although I'm sure Fergie seeing him daily would have a good idea) but now that Tevez is out of the picture I am sure there are going to be more opportunities for him and others.

anyone ride to work - with their suit/shirt in a rucksack?
Sandperson replied to SCSB79's topic in The Lounge
Take a few at the start of the week and hang them in the same room as you when you have a shower. The steam helps get any creases out. Or you could get them dry cleaned and pressed (or just pressed locally after taking them to work. -

30 mins to Honour Oak?

Looks like a pretty straight forward message board to me. Is there something special about it Anna? RD only mentioned The Sun, if I reacted like that I'd be accused of being over sensitive. We all know that Scousers hate the paper and why but I don't think he was meaning it as a dig, just a comparison of the tabloidism.

Arrogant cyclist in village this morning - for you

Yet again Lou your comedy Victor Meldrew style internet persona has hit all the right notes. -
Talk about kicking a group of fans when they are down: What made them think this was a good idea?

I think he'll struggle to stay fit now. I don't think he'll ever be back to his best. It's a real shame, that goal he scored against Argentina in the World Cup was one of my all time faves. As for Tevez, I think there's a lot of underestimation going on in Manchester of just where City could be if they get their buying tactics right in the next few seasons. We still see them as the poorer rival to United and I think they could take a lot of teams by suprise. It worked for Chlesea after all and that's not a jibe about buying the title as I think any team in their positions would have done the same. Tevez might have had his nose put out of joint by the contract stuff but I'm not sure that is true, Fergie isn't stupid and he's sees these guys day in, day out. I'm sure he would have realised that he needed to reassure him if there were signs of him being annoyed. I think it just comes down to starting games and he didn't start enough.
-
I'd be suprised if he went to Chelsea but I am suprised he doesn't want to stay at United so I'm not sure what his motivations are. That's what I meant about the Drogba thing, if he wants more starts then he's going to have to go to a team where he'll be first choice striker and although I think he's good I don't think he'd start ahead of Drogba, so I guess you are right, City would be a logical choice, but if I were him I'd go abroad.
-
It looks like Chelsea are trying to hijack the Tevez deal. Does that mean that Drogba might be on his way?
