Come on, that doesn't count as a niggle, surely!? Ronaldo? Hmmm. ?80M? Not bad business I think. Good luck to him but I can't see him being in with a chance of winning any more European trophies with them than us. Now all we need to do is find another hate figure for you lot to lambast us about like we picked him personally and have him round for tea at our mum's house every sunday.

  3. It must be a conspiracy. ;-)

  6. Is this spot the cock? I'm off to Wales for a week (don't ask). I hope you won't miss me too much ;)
  7. Next Labour leader/PM?
  8. I'm not sure it matters if he's an alcoholic. He obvioulsy has a 'drink problem' which is to the detriment of his professional life (who knows about his personal life?). I would have thought it might be nice to give him a helping hand.
  9. Doesn't someone need to help Symonds with his problems? It's all very well sending him home but itsn't about time theaussies got him some help? Or is that too touchy feely?
  10. He was doing this I'd imagine, though why they bothered to fish him out I have no idea. Boris gets wet!
  11. Doesn't that then get us into Bosman territory and restriction of working practices etc? I'm guessing it's more complicated that just UEFA or FIFA making a ruling. I would also like to see a progression of jobs for the national mamnger like they do in france so you work your way through the teams to the top job.
  12. Was that ignored? I really did mean to comment. Restricting squad size might work. I can see a case for it but it has to be consistent across Europe, or the world, or it's an unfair restriction. I would also add that I'd like to see some sort of appeals panel if your team was decimated by injury otherwise it would be a farce. Anna, are you penning that resignation letter yet? I see you are now in bed with the enemy. ;)
  13. You mean his repeated references to Argentina....just like AG repeated references to Argentina. Once is funny....a thousand times is just dull and doesn't make for a discussion.
  14. I keep attempting to have civilised and interesting discussions but it seems some on the thread don't want to.

You are Atila the Gooner and I claim my ?5.
  16. I'm with you Sue. I thought I had food poisoning and with a little one in the house it was good to know it was a bug rather than having to clear out my whole fridge etc. I'm glad it's not Dengue fever though ;)

  18. Got some inside info Matt? Who are they going to sign?

I for one would see England win a World Cup or a European Championship over United winning the league or the Champions League any day of the week. It's my dream to see England win a major trophy. As for Barry to City....good luck getting into the Champions League. Either he couldn't resist the money or they've told him that they have big plans for other signings and guarantees of number of starts for him. I like the guy and think he's a good midfielder, I think he's a bargain for ?12M but I'm not sure how much he can change that side on his own.

So it's not ok for us to chant the country of one of our most valued players (at a club level) but it is ok for you cheer on another country in a major competition? Personally I didn't cheer for anyone in the Euros because England weren't there and I support England. But if you think it's ok to swap your allegiences whenever the team you support don't do well enough then that's fine..... Having said that Arsenal haven't really performed in any competition for a few years now so I guess you have to choose someone else to support in the latter stages on a fairly regular basis.
  22. Really? I thought I was going to win you round one day AG. I have a tear in my eye for the friendship that will never be. Toodle pip.
  23. Annasfield Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > To be fair to Atila, England weren't in the Euros > this year. Really? I hadn't noticed that...I was too busy trying to work out why Argentina hadn't qualified. ;-)
