Peckham Rye station was no worse a couple of evenings last week when ONE barrier was working and several trains deposited passengers on the various platforms. Extremely frustrated passengers were banging on the ticket window and office door to highlight the danger (tailback from foyer to platforms). Staff had pulled the shutters down and were hiding in the office. There were no staff out helping / advising / visibly trying to fix the situation. Everyone had to queue for the single working barrier - else get penalised by Oyster ticketing mechanism.

There was a crash at LL roundabout, there were tailbacks all back along ED Rd.

that's very quick, I thought it took like 3mths to evict squatters. unless they've (it can be shown) broken in.

Normally a 9" wall between Victorian terraces / semis round here, plus render and plaster and maybe wallpaper. Could you have a conversation through the wall ? No probably not. Can you hear kids shrieking or dogs barking ? Probably. It's not just walls though. Floors are built into/suspended off walls so any heavy footfall can transmit through the fabric between houses too.

A comment form the mgr on Friday I think said yes pizza is game on (it was my first question, too !)

I was wiped out for 2 weeks too, worst ever. Wouldn't want that every year.

Any restaurant which takes-on unqualified and inexperienced staff for an entire day shift with the intention of not keeping the staff on is mad. The reputation of restaurant would suffer due to poor (inexperienced) service.

not wanting an argument here - but I don't think the P13 went down Whateley Rd in 1994. Must have been a different route (and therefore potentially different traffic issues to contend with than nowadays ?)

50K p.a. for that little shop ?? Would have to be a Class A dealer to make that space work enough to generate rent (let alone profit) to that tune !!

This morning at around 0715 at the Great Exhibition pub junction I heard a (what sounded like) bus engine running and then at the same time there was the sound of a car horn tooting for what seemed like 2 seconds. After another three or so seconds, the bus sounded like it was pulling away. Then all seemed to go quiet/normal. Anyone know what happened ?

stopped going there when after 4 or 5 successive weekends the early Sat morning sandwich I'd been popping-in for for years just wasn't being made as requested (and agreed). It was a simple sandwich, but the person serving just didn't understand enough English to execute it I guess, although I was told each time it would be as requested. In the end I can't make weekly cash donations and not get what I want, there's loads of other places to get it. So I did the loyal customer bit and it wasn't working (for me). I'm not that fussy, but get the simple stuff right, right ? Also there was a server with rotting teeth which put me off, that's just wrong.

could this be the result of their bins being blown over during the winds last night ? There were loads of bins, keeled over, contents spilled out, this morning. Has anyone gpne in and spoken to Memsab about it ?
