  1. Darn it, just wasted two minutes on another thread replying to you. I don't know. The things I do for people. Get well soon Foxy ! May see you at curry club.
  2. With all respect DF, I'm not in the habit of picking people up on their grammar (in this case it's actually spelling, because you mistakenly typed 'of' instead of 'have'. No-one would intentionally use a wrong word like that). Fact is, I have suffered years of this abuse, by reading occurrences of 'have' displaced by 'of'. It unnerves me greatly, affects my concentration and shatters my senses - all in one go. At last I speak out about it and I'm branded a troublemaker. This is not OK. I suggest the most efficient (and environmentally friendly, if you include your community here on EDF) solution is to stop swapping 'of' for 'have'. It's been some years now but is a lesson which can be learned very quickly. 'Try it, you'll like it', as the person serving Socrates said. Sorry to side track they thread, but let's face it, the thread is pretty much done. A car crashed, no-one hurt, car removed, traffic resumes, oil patch to be mopped-up soon. Sort of run it's course wouldn't you say ? 'Hi-Jacked' is too strong a word, I'd prefer "used the opportunity to finally (after years of courteous restraint) educate someone about their repeated transcription error when typing". In the long run, victims like me would be spared repeated trauma if you'd just respect the reader and type properly. 'It's just not cricket', as the person playing snooker once said.
  3. HOW does someone end up there ?!
  4. hmmm, something else NO2 was used for then Foxy, I'm sure they weren't buying CO2 !!
  5. That?s right bargee it?s NO2 laughing gas. It?s been a thing for decades, bit of an increase in popularity last few years though. Back in the day in my town, weekends was big queues at Timothy Whites where kids were all buying canisters because ?mum is making whipped cream? (or something like that).
  6. I've seen the odd deal every few weeks on the crystal palace rd end of Underhill Rd, that dark bit of pavement across the road from the chippy seems a popular site for this pastime.
  7. computedshorty is your man as he will actually remember and no doubt have stories. not sure if he posts on here anymore / how his health is fairing. maybe try IM him (and say hi from me).
  8. Cool. Let?s have some more ?my Dads bigger than your Dad? back and forth, again.
  9. someone suggested I request re-delivery, which I did, they specified a day it would arrive - I waited in all day, no knock (no stereo/radio on), nothing. no note through door, no sign of a visit. then went to sorting office and they said (after hour queuing) that's it's still out for delivery from day before, I requested they just check rather than send me away, they found it. This morning got an email form Amazon about a purchase due to arrive yesterday (didn't come, I waited in), Royal Mail are telling Amazon they came at 15.39 yesterday and no-one was in, which is a total lie - if they'd knocked why didn't they leave a red slip to advise I'd missed a parcel delivery ? Because they were never here, that's why !!
  10. drove past earlier and wondered what 'save the ivy house' meant (I thought it had already been saved by setting-up as a community asset, or whatever the term is).
  11. any such consultation is surely a tick-box exercise. why on earth would actual no.40 passengers' views be considered relevant !
  12. Got there at 0730, already a fair queue, left 0815. Massive queue !
  13. Blackfriars is easy from ED. Stroll to PR and get train - takes 13mins. Which more than makes up for the stroll when compared to bus journey time.
  14. rjw - I had intermittent this week, called Virgin, they agreed 9 days I?ve had dodgy service and offered ?3 off next bill. I said I?ll csncel the contract they said I can?t. But I have and I?ve told them to see me in court over the ?65 they say is due for cancelling early.
  15. wow ED is turning into a provincial enclave, forget getting a tube, we're losing our buses !
  16. I fully appreciate that any postie affected by recent changes locally must be under stress and heavy workload, changes to logistics of where to turn up for sorting and set-off of delivery - and probably concerns about the future cut-backs and what it means for their job security. I would still ask, however, that with the sorting office in SE22 now closed, posties spare a thought as they push the 'we knocked but no answer' red slips through resident's letter boxes to save themselves a few seconds, for the resident who may now have to commit several hours trying to retrieve their package through multiple trips / extensive queues up at Highshore PO.
  17. Yeah I'm round the corner from you rjw, same deal here too :(
  18. Any dog can bite a child's face, that's the reality. A dog grabbing an adult's cardigan (however scary that may be) doesn't make it more likely to bite a child's face than a dog which doesn't jump-up to adults. But the owner should have apologised, and yes there's an argument for greater control of that dog (perhaps including muzzling).
  19. Received the much-feared Royal Mail red card through the door ?we tried to deliver but...?, having popped-out for 20mins. Darn it. Was going to Peckham anyway, so hey no problem popping round the PO to collect my parcel. Queue from basement where I presume you collect parcels right back to street. One bunch of pissed-off people. Feck it. The t-shirt was only a ?10er. I can?t blow 2hrs of my life for that. I guess someone else will get it. Having seen this and realising that I don?t have such huge time slots to give away, RM is effectively off my radar now.
  20. Yes they are. There's already a thread been running a while on exactly this PITA issue... !
  21. I?d check the deeds first yourself. If there?s something there that backs you up then great, else it?s maybe time to start racking-up cost by contacting solicitor.
  22. Wow. What a joke ! Shareholders will be sorted though, that?s what matters. I got in Saturday?s last day queue quite early, there were a few people who did not want to have to traipse to a Peckham. Having seen your photo I?ll have to seriously consider not using Royal Mail to avoid heading up to Peckham, in full knowledge that it won?t change anything.
  23. Got this one recently. Does several sheets of paper and CDs too. Ok so far after a few months. Bonsaii EverShred C149-C 18-Sheet... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IOFD08C?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
