  1. I had a HK lady working for me for 12 mths up to last year. Her and her hubby had a company apartment in Westminster (her hubby was here on secondment). Knowing they'd be here for 2-3 years longer, they intended to buy 2x places and rent them out before they left. One location they'd chosen was Woking where they were viewing 3-bed semis, the other was to be somewhere near Shard I believe, preferably a 2-bed new build.
  2. Wasn't me no way. Probably one of those gangbangers.
  3. Someone farted on my bus. Bastads. But that's nature I guess.
  4. "I reckon easily ?100k over priced" More like ?450k over priced !!!!!
  5. 'fraid you had to be there t-e-d
  6. the banks have to justify ANYTHING ????
  7. I don't speak foreign very well but I think it is Bruno's cave.
  8. the banks will still be there still making their money, there's been no real incentive for them to change their approach. the banks got away with it and will do so again. and why, given they don't actually suffer, wouldn't they. even RBS, owned by the government, is taking the piss, as ever. 2 years ago they were ordered to offload a huge proportion of their retail / Corporate customer base - but it never happened (and there was a determination within RBS that it would NOT happen). banks rule OK, regardless of the 'politics' - until a Govt grows a spine why should this not continue ? the banks have nothing to be scared of !
  9. There will be a lot of sorry stories when rates have risen 2%. Cycle has done the right thing using calcs to gauge effect in front.
  10. In terms of coats, I'd recommend a donkey jacket.
  11. "Baby on Board badges" Wanker Twat
  12. Depends how poor he was. Or whether the food was spectacular.
  13. if the report is very vague then it's a shite report. presumably from a surveyor ? they lead the field in vague reports that they will not commit to, every comment being back-tracked by the next. Surely it's the vendor's problem, no need to make it yours. tell them your concerns and ask them for a survey report, which the surveyor is prepared to stand by, confirming no contamination.
  14. they're also plain shite as wellies. Dunlop way to go.
  15. There's often special characters you can call up depending on the font you're using (I think this is mainly when using a word processing package like MS Word, but you can find the characers also in MS Powerpoint. Not sure about when typing emails though. Loads of tech-savvy people on here will know how to do this though. What package / application do you need type the tick into ?
  16. I really don't think it makes much difference, but I'm doing mine the same and chose the dining area to be under glazing so you've got loads of natural light to hang-out under, solely that.
  17. Decent groundwork can be expensive and you'll be creating lots of drops for the little ones to fall off.
  18. Oh to have qualified for a council property and then be 'entitled' to purchase it for a fraction of the market value - then flog it after a couple of years and get minted. Virtually for no personal risk or expense. Talk about privileged.
  19. Unfortunately Computed is not local - he's waaaaaay out of town in the provinces. Can't remember, was it Norfolk, Shorty ?!
  20. Those sort of earnings is not a reasonable definition of 'rich'. If someone is broke or poor that doesn't automatically qualify everyone else as rich. Just the same if you're stupid doesn't make everyone else clever.
  21. (allegedly) NorthCross market.
  22. maybe we need to form a colony to protect these things. with Louisa as prime Minister. Worth it - even if only to keep beefburgers below ?12 !
  23. try the asylum seekers hostel at Christchurch top of Barry Rd.
  24. Or maybe Romanian squatters (or ANY squatters) don't necessarily commit crimes.
  25. "Except for the fact that I am sure I remember reading somewhere that most of the businesses in Rye Lane own their buildings". You can own the whole street of shops, that's fine. But if the demographic is changing rapidly and your existing retail leases to businesses are already contracted, or your self-owned business/commercial property sells to those who are increasingly no longer there, you have a dilemma. I don't want it to happen, I prefer that it will not, but my fear I believe will unfold.
