  1. Keep guessing - I'd thought it was for washing or storing vegetables but was well was well wrong.
  2. Minkey - that's what I thought initially.
  3. ... what these are. They're usually hung outside the shops catering to Africans/African foodstuffs/household. You've probably seen them. Found out today. What do you think they are ?
  4. When he DJ'd at Ryde Pavilion he told me to fuck off when I asked if he had any decent records. I was well chuffed at being bollocked by John Peel.
  5. The Holy Holy Bowie thing last night at Peckham Liberal Club was brilliant. Drummer from original Spiders From Mars (@1973) was great and a lovely guy to speak with. The whole light show and sound was pretty well done, a bit loud though. Anyone else go ?
  6. "I disagree with you there I'm afraid, we all make time for things if we think they are worthwhile" Overly simplistic.
  7. That's scheduled for Q2 2014
  8. Well if he married a 15 year old girl it must have been legal - what's your angle ? Need someone to hate today ?
  9. 4/10 for the beers and food at Tiger Tiger in Manchester, 8/10 for the chats and company from my work. But then from 1100-1430 at the Churchill gay club down by the canal (probably one of dozens) it's 8/10 for venue and the crack we had there. 2x guys from my work pulled there too. Amazing Pakistani kebab place behind hotel, was perfecto and probably enabled me to be in my work by 0845. Definitely one of the better years, when it looks iffy I usually just don't bother.
  10. Been there today. Yummo. ?7 for fish fry, special rice, raita, dahl.
  11. have a look in wheelie bins nearby, they will have soon realised they were useless items.
  12. Pecknam tumbleweed innit.
  13. Not today Josephine. One has other activities in hand...
  14. Manchester next week 1st class up and down and 5 star accom. Really sound crowd too, very lucky. Have had some dire ones with other firms, one of few times I haven't organised a 'Plan B' !
  15. Council are spineless. Or maybe don't have funds/resource to prosecute. Or a bit of both, either way same outcome.
  16. thermal suit under a garish onsie does the trick.
  17. I had these blokes round mine yesterday PM while cooking, I was really busy and when I asked through glass on front door who it was they wouldn't say unless I opened the door ! So I went back to kitchen. An hour later they were back and said ADT 'security' I said go away forom this place please. Orange day-glo jackets etc.
  18. Yeah I saw Elvis Costello headline there once - huh ?

It's all semantics anyway, we'll all be dead soon enough.
  20. Christine - I don't think that a tree supplier not being prepared to GIVE AWAY their BIGGEST tree to a fire station constitutes being a scrooge ! I'm sorry but where does this sense of entitlement arise ? The pensioned, insured, salaried, paid-holidayed, fireman wants a freebie off the street seller ? Are you sure ?
  21. ....and say they're a "philothipher".
  22. I also do what SJ does, getting a DH train no later than 0730. Although trains have plenty standing room, people will stand by door areas and act sooo surprised to be asked to move down train, like it's a foreign language. They'll happily watch you stood on platform still as train leaves, but at least leaving earlier gives you more chance of pushing past them.
  23. "Anyone else remember Mr Weston 'The Clingfilm Kid'? I was a pupil at St Johns when it all kicked off." Well don't just dangle the hint of a scandal in front of us, then snatch it away as an in-club-only discussion - what's it all about ?!?!?!?!?
  24. sad thing is if people could be arsed to move a 1/2 step down the train and fold-up their newspapers there would be a lot more room actually. I never get the "I'm entitled to" BS attitude of these people on trains. If people won't move down the train, hold the door open until they do - if you get the same train/carriage, eventually they'll start moving down the train automatically, to avoid being delayed again.
