  1. Doesn?t benefit the businesses. Doesn?t benefit the customers. Benefits only the Council.
  2. The pay areas there are a joke. Those areas should be supporting the local shops. Charging people for even 5mins to stop and pick up (say) some fried chicken, or bakery products is insane and doesn?t support the shops. It puts people off stopping, I think the parking limit there is 30mins. Why not just have no fee but those who overstay 30 mins get fined - I think my problem is I?m looking for an equitable arrangement.

The scary thing is the power these inadequates are in a position to exercise - and the potential gravity of decisions they may make. I mean, look what Trump, an unqualified and uneducated (in anything useful) leader, did by deciding to just quit Afghanistan. You vote for these clowns and you risk literally everything, like we?re doing with BoJo and his unqualified inadequates.

  5. Has anyone seen the new Whateley Plaza ?
  6. Simply not paying and expecting the council to just fade away / the charges incurred not to dramatically increase quickly is a folly you?ll traverse once only.

But others? righteous comments might cause one to question that, bravo you for openly asking!
  8. Discgraceful Cat, next you?ll be calling blackboards ?boards of colour?, zebra crossings ?of colour and white?, and very dark items ?as of colour as coal?. Helicopters do have feelings you know. Gotta love the EDF !
  9. Yeah the cycling pursuits this morning around 0830 were exciting stuff. The GDR v Italia race was a great one. GBR v GDR in final.
  10. It?s shitty, but the foxes will probaby take care of the fish.
  11. Let?s hope not all of BoJo?s traits can be passed down to the offspring.
  12. I see it a lot on Underhill (opposite the chippy), Crystal Palace Rd (opposite the nursery), and Colyton/Homestall junction. All dark or with cover locations perfect for overnight tipping. Not sure it?s worse in pandemic, seems pretty consistent unfortunately !
  13. If the councils could ?pollard? drains to reduce maintenance, they would.
  14. Let?s not confuse a bunch of badly organised, out-of-tune, disharmonious instruments with free-form jazz.
  15. I think the volume of rain in such a short timeframe was exceptional.
  16. Thanks NW.
  17. Judo is included in this year?s olympics. I think it is every year.
  18. Sport taekwondo from what I know cannot allow the full contact effects of the blows, there would be injuries and fatalities. So what we see is a bastardised version of the martial art with heavy body padding and certain blows not allowed, so it can be allowed as a sport. I think the '99% kicks' style of competition taekwondo is not representative of the portfolio of attacks a practitioner has at his/her disposal, but eye gouges and breaking opponents' collar bones probably wouldn't go down too well. I think also, because of the need to keep distance (when in competition, just making a contact can score a point) that's why kicks are the primary strike. Same as with karate, I believe.
  19. NewWave - this does sound very stressful ! Out of interest, what % capacity (compared to ?normal?) would you estimate the tube trains to be carrying nowadays ?
  20. Is it a lame-ass after-the-fact decimation of Melbourne Grove consolation prize ?

  22. My friend?s Son (18) has this attitude too. Unfortunately he?s got infected and now the whole house is isolating so his Mum (teacher), Dad (hospitality), Sister (hospitality) cannot work and his other sister cannot attend school. I respect everyone?s feelings of wanting to ?get back to normal? but the impacts of one?s individual infection are very far from individual. If one is infected and near other people you will infect someone. How those infected by those expressing their ?freedom? are able to physically cope with that and the impact on their work and home life are presumably of no interest to the infector. jimlad48 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > C - I'm double jabbed and relatively relaxed about > COVID so happy to just crack on with life and not > worry too much about things. No, sir

I quite like that we can engage complete strangers and hear salutations like mate, geez, bro, dude, fella, fam, whatever. If it?s well-intended / non-hostile, what?s the problem. Having to build-up entitlement to be allowed to qualify to call someone ?mate? sounds shite IMO. I don?t like being called sir, although in hospitality envts I allow it as that just seems to be what they do.
  24. A. There?s no ?freedom? in jeopardy whatsoever.
