  1. it's not just about the monthly payment though is it ? when you rent you're not being fleeced by mgt companies. when you rent you can walk and lose no more than your deposit (or part thereof).
  2. All the warning signs are there. If there's issues with mgt company and maintenance of property, I'd walk. Prices ain't going up anytime soon, they're almost inevitably going to drop, which may work in your favour if you wait.
  3. sweetgirl wants to see the successful posting/sales history I think, to form a view on reliability of seller.
  4. I'm just round the corner on CP Rd and can help a bit if needed. I can do a couple of pans of water if needed, poured out of a big water container.
  5. I?m not sure what you mean by periodic (time-bounded ?). If there?s no updated tenancy contract then latest contract stands. Best plan for a long haul and then bring things forward if the tenancy ends sooner.
  6. My understanding is that if a tenancy agreement is not renewed/signed but the tenant stays in situ (with both tenant/landlord agreeing same, perhaps verbally) then the conditions of the most recent signed agreement stand - and I would expect any prevailing Govt additional rules (ie. related to Covid) would just be applicable on top of that.
  7. Yeah sort of, not quite the 9? I was looking for, but Iceland did have frozen hotdog rolls. So thanks to Foxy suggesting, I managed to cobble together some decent hotdogs. Froglander Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Did you find some?
  8. I left the City last year to change sectors and WFH full time. Perfect timing !
  9. Agreed, Brexit yawn, hotdog fun !! TheCat Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > now this is what the lounge is for....f~ck > brexit....im not joking.....i want to know the > answer....nice work KK
  10. Cheers Foxy, I'm looking for soft rolls ideally as we're frying-up beef dogs (a la Cooper), so I'll head to Iceland laters. Speaking of Cooper (who used to run The DogFather hotdog stand down the market), he's got a burger restaurant south of Perth now and it seems his fare is actually 'the bomb'. Cooper's restaurant is slowly opening (Thurs-Sun 11am-3pm) as kitchen grow confident. On Instagram he's @burgerbones -check him out and say hi.
  11. Anybody know where to get proper hot dog rolls around here? All the main shops seem to sell ?finger rolls?. I?m looking for a 9 inch rather than a 4 inch roll. Your guidance and support will be appreciated.
  12. spray a can of mr muscle on and leave it for while. then wipe off. you may need a couple of turns if caked residue extreme from not regularly cleaning.
  13. Basically you can?t completely stop traders trying to make a buck. I?ve sold-on a couple of items bought on here previously - sold back on here, where I?ve sold for > what I paid. Only a couple of quid, but if the item has served it?s purpose for me and I want to dispose of it, that?s my call. Far stretch to actual trading though, I suppose each individual selling has to monitor and control as they see fit if concerns are to be addressed.
  14. What, the parking or the post ?!
  15. In that case: 2x spaces directly outside Barclays, which is across the side road from the vets. A handful of spaces outside co-op, which is a couple doors along from vets on same block. About 4 spaces outside M&S, which is a few metres from Barclays in opposite direction of vets (but same side of road). Usual parking on side streets nearby and on LL, across road from vets. The actual question is whether there'll be spaces free, rather than where the parking spaces are !!
  16. Was about to help with this - but there are two vets on LL.
  17. perhaps knock on doors asking who was affected / sick of it and when you identify the offending property all knock on the door en masse so the culprits can see there are actually real people living nearby who they impact.
  18. From a seller's point of view that makes sense I suppose, especially knowing how much messing about there can be when you hold an item for someone because they were first to enquire but then they vanish and the subsequent interestees have subsequently evaporated too. But yeah, tedious !
  19. Au contraire. 'Like' not everybody gets to close a street, so they can have tea dances. Like that. northernmonkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Like - oh, I dunno, rye lane as posted earlier??!
  20. Identify the landlord, establish a forwarding address, look for names of the leavers on parcel boxes/envelopes in the bins, email the council.
  21. I'd like to see the folks of some busy back street in Peckham try to get away with the same kind of street closures.
  22. Not sure if sleepers are best habitat, from memory they're heavily steeped (or used to be) in creosote or similar dastardly poison/preservative. Stag beetles do thrive in a damp rotten wood environment though (if Nunhead cemetery is anything to go by).
