Sainsburys Local near Library still closed?
KidKruger replied to drewd's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It's been open the whole last few months hasn't it ? -
Ha ha !! Possible, but unlikely, if relevant enough they can text. Absolutely. With (I think) her own clothing line too. Soon to perhaps be First Lady, so best get in quick..

Surprise eh ? Private company in large dividend to shareholders shocker ! Every service outsourced means money diverted to pockets of owners, that?s what companies do !

Kim Kardashian ?

People who, at the end of a call, rather than simply saying, 'Bye", then hanging up they actually say, "bye, bye, bye..bye....bye.........bye.......bye....bye..bye..bye......bye..". I find that nowadays, after the first couple of "Byes", I just hang-up because I'm not reciting 13x byes in reply for the sake of politeness. It's like Borat has got hold of their phone !

Advice from London Bridge commuters
KidKruger replied to JimHIFH's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We're in pandemic now so the current 'normal' is less busy trains (though slowly getting busier), but one thing worth noting - though probably pretty obvious - is that not everyone wears masks. At ED station I've seen 50% wearing them, though it may vary up / down slightly from that estimate. I think some passengers (at every station) remove their masks once they've boarded until end of journey. Because of this, a rear-end carriage may be safer if less populated. -
mail collection at Lordship Lane Post Office
KidKruger replied to Annie5's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
fair enough Penguin, but for me, it worked with instant post. I'll obviously keep using it, and with LL PO either clueless on times / having to queue to check times it's simpler and more reliable. mail collection at Lordship Lane Post Office
KidKruger replied to Annie5's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I couldn't see clearly on the outside of the PO on LL what times postal collections were scheduled, so I went to a post box nearer me on which times are indicated clearly - the letter arrived at destination next day. If you're just posting a letter and don't need to queue at the PO to get stamps / get a parcel wrapped, just go to a local post box for more certainty. -
sounds like the email account (which can be accessed via the phone), rather than the phone itself ?

If this was the case there could eventually be a position held by residents of that area where the Council have realised from finally listening to complaints that their ill-advised (if they were) changes to traffic were a mistake / over-zealous, but when they attempt to revert the changes they face opposition from those concerned their house prices will drop if that happens !! spider69 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So if you had a choice to live on a closed off > road or another with traffic you would not take > it? > > Of course house prices would go up.

Rye lane walk & cycle only from 6/7

wonderwoman & Clutterqueen, you may both be mistaken - in fact you may both be hysterical and dismissing cyclists daily experience. Take time to reconsider what you actually experienced before amending your posts accordingly. Blah Blah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > KK, I am going to say it. Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
KidKruger replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The Crystal Palace Rd zebra crossing and tarmacking around (as part of the bigger junction works a few weeks ago) were laid fine and has not been crumbling or broken from what I've seen, on foot, several times a day since. The obvious question is WHY is the tarmac being re-laid ? Next is, WHO authorised this ?! -
I actually can't think of any point of view, in any field or subject, where I would direct people to The Express for an authoritative explanation or justification of it. Has it actually come to people thinking a tabloid is where reference material is obtained. Good grief.

Not everyone can manage their needs without a car. Anyone speaking for car owners, as if they?re committing a misdemeanour by having a car, is obviously biased and clearly naive.

For only 2018 ? Based on police stat or insurance claims, or ...?

NewWave I think the concept of cynicism has been deleted by this Govt !! It?s now called Realism.

I don't think the UK society has enough of a sense of collective responsibility to pull this off. The 'compulsory' face masks on public transport is a great theory not working in practice. People will always think it doesn't apply to them or they can stretch it a bit due to some or other self-entitlement. Announcing a forward date for start of compulsory wearing of masks in shops gives (to me) exactly the opposite message that needs to be given - it says that doing so is SO urgent that, actually, we'll start doing it next week. Several months late surely. From a Govt which said masks were not proven to be effective / have limited effective benefit. The benefits (or otherwise) of masks have have not just been discovered because of this virus, that knowledge already existed !

Dontbesilly is a troll because they are winding people up on various threads, not because their posts say littering is ok.

Leaving your garbage in bags by the bin does not work, you may as well throw it on the ground around the bin. Guess what there are foxes.

Yeah, the Guardian's name's on it. They authorised it. It appears in their paper. It's their article. They haven't been hacked !

Rye lane walk & cycle only from 6/7
KidKruger replied to rollflick's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Blah Blah just because you don't observe something others have experienced, doesn't delete their point, nor does it mean hysteria is automatically about to start (although hysteria on EDF is all but guaranteed on most threads!). I'm sure the other cyclists present when the above observations by walkers were made also thought everything was fine, too. I've been on Rye Lane before and since - experiencing both fair-shared space and what seem like aggressive 'my patch' cyclists. It obviously won't be one OR the other for the entirety of every second of every day. You know this already. But news of a shared space to enable distancing, then experiencing belligerence from others when trying to make use of it to feel safe, will inevitably bother some people when made to feel unsafe. When it does happen, it's exactly 'jogger mentality'; I've got the momentum, I'm going at speed, it's a pain for me to have to slow down for you, I am taking priority here, just get out of my way, don't use my road, I'm on my way somewhere here while you're only walking, move. It doesn't mean all cyclists at every time.
