Apparently they'll stick around airports/train stations and did well to get rid of games/dvds and this is a good strategy if you read this unreadable article :) http://www.retail-week.com/city-and-finance/whsmith-what-the-analysts-say/5048145.article?blocktitle=Retailer-in-the-news:-WHSmith&contentID=7926 StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > First of all, as with Woolworths let?s not get too > parochial about this Smith?s closing down. Herne Tavern play area to be demolished

Smoking allowed times then. Different rules as no parent would allow children into pubs with hazy blue smoke everywhere. I assume the smokers are not in the children's play area - haven't ventured out of the bar when I visit.. My plan too. problem is if you don't see it coming due to chaos on the road ( I was driving through Loampit Vale the other day and it was a free for all - won't be going back there). How do the cameramen react to chaos - penalise everybody.

Don't we all have 15 pick-ups of large items of rubbish by Southwark Council. Do toilets count or is it just laziness ?

A few people saying Gatland likes big hookers - and he was one himself Did he have issues with two Hookers under 17 St ? Gatland admitted they discussed this extensively. The new Greggs seems to have a space to drink coffee. Someone was arguing in there when I walked past :( Ozzies would give you a coffee too. But none of the ones we're used to ... and I like a coffee. Maybe you just get used to the water where you are. This morning on breakfast tv they did a water test as if it were wine - not sure about that :) The Minkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "I could - Swansea was very very soft water and on > > moving to London I hated it." > > Funnily enough, when I go back to see the family > in Porthcawl, the smell of the tap water is very > noticeable. > > "London tap water is totally rank when you've > lived in other places." > > Depends which places you've lived. mayonnaise is raw egg isn't it ? minced beef should be cooked through I reckon - but maybe if it's minced from good beef just prior to cooking then burgurised then pink is OK. scout Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sometimes egg is used to bind a burger so must be > fully cooked

I could - Swansea was very very soft water and on moving to London I hated it. Am used to it now. It's not always like that though - I live above his junction and its chaos (And noisy) all day. People who have never driven in this area get caught out all the time - more often northbound now. Rye lane itself would be strange to a newcomer - I remember walking down it For the first time years ago. You see the panic as they see the signs late and sometimes reverse. Sometimes people used to get out of cars to argue. The biggest issue is just stats, so many people do it so something in the design is wrong IMHO. Edit: and the whistlers back :( likansuk269 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > if you were following a bus up the road and missed > the signs then you were obviously to clos to the > bus, busses stop suddenly and you wont see the bus > stop coming either....you should really have had a > distance between you where you could see the bus > wing mirrors, accordingly the bus driver would be > able to see you behind him,and here is the best > bit,he might not even indicate that he is stopping > ,let alone right or left.......another reason to > stay further behind....I know the road and > I know the turnings involvedand have no problem > with it and never have, but as a cyclist a few > years ago I learnt the route and signs.....no > point arguing ,ive been caught for less before and > u just wont win..but you might be lucky

One of our own posters articles here .. note the phrase "Under present regulations, bookies are allowed only four machines per shop. They simply open more stores to sidestep the rules." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2103218/When-bookies-common-post-offices-Britain-major-problem-High-Street-campaigner-Rowenna-Davis.html david_carnell Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Well, again, only to you. > > Those betting shops wouldn't proliferate if people > weren't using them. The council will probably wash it's hands of everything now it hasn't got it's way completely. Hope not.

I'd much prefer a Costa to another Betfred or Paddypower or the 2x Money Shop we have. Nothing against them, but I will never use those shops. The new Greggs has a little space to sit down I noticed. ryelane Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > was posting this more to highlight how they were > planning to clear all the business along blenheim > grove, not just at the front of the station. > but as you say that plan seems to have been > (temporarily) defeated! > > i agree the space in front of the station isn't > used to its full ability. hopefully a rebuild of > it won't bring in costa coffee...

Agree - up fleet street from Blackfriars, or up Holborn Viaduct and across Kingsway from City Thameslink. It's easy to forget how close these stations are. Sevenoaks-> Bedford line is very crowded now too (since about last Xmas). No state funeral - neither was Princess Di. But Princess Diana got buried on a Saturday So we were all off to see it. Tony will be President of Europe or maybe more by the time he dies of course :)

Worried about the effect Cardiff being in the EPL will have on my team (Swansea) Mustn't be dragged into a rivalry.

Nothing wrong with communities of artists - but I thought this was mainly the Bussey building Something needs to kick start a bit of further variety on Rye lane - not the ethnic stores (which have improved since 2007 when I moved here) but the bookies and pay day loan merchants. Still would like some kind of social shops - coffee bars. Ozzie's is Okay but something a little more too.
