  1. I was there last night and thought it looked good although not all that different really.. I think the new heater in the marquee area is a good one as you no longer have one of the stand up gas ones which take up space.. Menu still good, Ava still great, we got quick service and was good the tunes were out the back in the marquee..
  2. sorry jaws and I didnt make it but got sloshed elsewhere and headed home.. Good to see everyone had a great time, we will aim to be at the next one if we can.. x
  3. Anna if you dont mind paying a bit extra Addison Lee are very reliable.. I also have contact details for a cheuffer driven service, quay alexander, who are faultless! I have also heard, but not used myself, that green tomato cars are quite good..

When I first arrived in the UK I > actually got off the tube at E&C to have a look > around because I thought it sounded really > interesting :-$ I did exactly the same thing, chose it off the tube map as where I wanted to live because of its' name, I very quickly worked out I had lead myself up the garden path and got back on the train!!!

I?m talking 30 even 35. *snigger* he he that made me giggle WE went to the EDT last sat night and once the crowd had cleared out they had some great tunes happening (dj cancelled so was the owners ipod)... G20

Im hearing news reports etc that next week is potentially going to be dangerous for peeps working in the city especially within financial houses.. Is all of it just hype or is it something more serious? I have never been here for a g20 and will be at my new job at bank by next wed so wondering what people's thoughts are on it? x
  14. I am completely against smacking, I didnt got to a school where the teacher had a right to hit or physically discipline me and my mother only smacked me twice and that was when I was a completely out of control teenager, I had absolutely pushed her to her limits but its no excuse.. I dont think any teacher has the right to be physical in any way with a student, you are there to teach and there are many other ways of disciplining children. Smacking is for the weak who think it is ok to exert power in that way. Dont worry SM about those trolls, we love you!!
  15. thanks everyone, really appreciate the feedback.. Am going to go and check it out..
  16. Ive never hitched or picked up a hitchiker, always been too scared will get someone who would chop me up to be honest.. I think after the Ivan Millat case in oz people got pretty freaked and hitching became a thing of the past.. IM
  17. goodness glad to hear you are ok.. I will make sure I double lock the door every time I go anywhere, thanks for the heads up!
  18. Goodness! that is so sad..
  19. Originally from Australia, came here over 4 years ago as wanted the 'live abroad' experience. Met the love of my life and got married and here I am. From the moment I arrived I completely fell in love with London and knew it was for me.. I have to say even the weather doesnt bother me to be honest, its all the same from the inside of a pub, do miss bbqs some times though.. Part of my family is originally from here (obviously) and in the 1800s lived in Bermondsey so I guess in a very drawn out way Ive just come home..

    C.S.I

I watched CSI last night with morpheus and I think his character is going to be quite interesting and quirky but felt I was mourning Grissam the whole time... I thought he was going in at G's replacement but alas not..

    Wormery

Alas we have decided to stay in our flat rather than moving to a larger flat and I dont have the room for a wormery or chickens (possibly why Jaws is so keen to stay!!).. Once I grow up and get a real house I will get a wormery for sure..
  23. I'll do it for sure!
  24. Wicked thank you! I will go and check it out.. thanks TLS for the lovely offer but I think I will check out the uplands and see how I get on!
  25. I have a friend from oz that is moving to the UK arriving 5th May. She is going to be staying with me for a week but then has a friend of hers joining her and will need some short term accom i.e. a few weeks to a month at minimum two would be perfect. I have a feeling they will love the area so will be looking for longer term accom but will be working by then so will be able to sign a lease etc. I hear there are rooms at the upland for about 40 quid a night, has anyone stayed there and are they ok? thanks xx
