I think almost 1 year in (my anniversary next week) I am somewhere between 2 and 3... Only 721 posts in a year so not too bad.. Stage 2 (Regular) - reads the Forum weekly, even on holiday - has started a thread on a frivolous topic - no longer gets a telling off by boss for unexplained random giggling, just receives a hard look and a sigh - wouldn't miss a Forum drink - number of posts less than 500 Stage 3 (Addict) - reads the Forum daily, even on holiday - has started a thread on a serious topic, and fought off opposition from all comers - Forum has been mentioned in annual appraisal - invites other Forumites to important personal events in Real Life - has secret crush on one or more other prominent Forumite - has trouble deciding whether to go to next Forum drink or brother's wedding - number of posts less than 2000

I went from ED through PR this morn on the train with no problems.. Someone else on the forum just posted this though so tonight may be a different kettle of fish.. ha ha the invisible type that made me laugh.. NO WAY! Well I have put in a request that I can leave about 4.30 / 5.00 in case i have a journey home like yesterday (probably wont be approved) which was about 1 hour 45 mins and tube / bus / walk / bus.. It was bliss to get home..

Wow you are on that fabulous kind of leave where you are supposed to be gardening!! I too am leaving my job but no such luck for me unfortunately!! Maybe they were trying to be nice to their staff and letting them attempt to get home before it got dark given a few peeps had to walk alot of the way yesterday (me included and Im in canary wharf!!).. But yes I hear your pain so rant away my friend.. So stressful when for any reason your passport is away and I have to say the customer service in this country doesnt fill you with any kind of confidence that matters are all in hand.. Good luck and enjoy Jessica Fletcher!

Bloomin eck that's where I live! I hope its back on my the time I get inside tonight!! Any improvement in the last two hours? -
Hi Will I totally sympathise.. Hoome office still has my passport (since Sept) and apparently it should have been back by now!, we went through a similar thing recently with Mrs Strawbs who needed to go on a holiday and they said 10 working days and it turned up literally on the 10th day.. Depending on where it is coming from it might be worth calling them up and if they havent sent it then getting them to send it to work for you..

Contrary to what Sue thinks re the buses as in they are rubbish I think the buses in this area are fantastic and this week (all bar Monday of course) have been my saving grace! With no trains til this morning the bus was able to drop me somewhere to continue my journey to work.. Prior to ED I have always got the train or tube never knowing where to get off on a bus etc but now that they have the announcements I fly all over the place on buses.. The services near our place ie 12, 197, 363, 63 are excellent and I never wait very long.. Even got a 484 to the station this morning as it turned up literally as I was walking past the bus stop and thought it would be rude to not get on.. Also saved me from potentially falling over like a loon on the ice!

Just did a journey planner from LB to East Dulwich and no mention of disruption, hopefully it is just on that particular line and trains to ED will still be running maybe just with a little delay..

Will tomorrow also be a "snow day?"
Strawbs replied to jocelyn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
if we have another snow day tomorrow, absolutely no way will i be walking to canary wharf, granted i may not be at the pub getting absolutely leathered but i will be indoors.. no one pays me enough to walk to can wharf to get to an office where sod all people are in and then i need to try and get home again.. I for one am hoping for another snow day and i can stay indoors with my blackberry and watch tv! -
had an absolutely wicked time but because it was so ridiculously full i didnt hear my phone and had about 7 messages and 3 missed calls.. sorry gigirl my bag was under the table and i didnt hear my phone... thank god for hannah who got there at 12.30 and got a table otherwise we would have been stuffed! i have never seen it so busy.. left and went via the general store for ice cream adn then via the pizza shop and got some food... Im still making my way through it all.. thanks to everyone who came.. i think if thee is a snow day tomorrow i will be indoors with a movie and a cup of tea!! oh and left over pizza... xxx

too true the train lines are buckling so transport is not working so great there.. heat waves, blizzards, all things that dont happen often and the country just has to do its best and if that means every so often things shut down then so be it, its not the end of the world as we know it..
