  1. I think seek a referral. My nephew is similar, it turned out he needed to drink more water to trigger the correct overnight response (I'm sure that's very over simplified but thats how she explained it to me) But bottom line is there are a number of things it could be and there is no harm in speaking to gp about a referral.
  2. Hello, it's 'pending an appeal' the result of which must be due soon but I'm pretty sure it isn't out yet (Unless it's been leaked ahead of parents being informed which is if course possible)

Agree with this and I think you've put it really well.
  4. I've seen a mini lascal on a bee. Not personal experience though!
  5. I've always used hot water as powder us not sterile. I use about 30ml freshly boiled. Stir to dissolve, then top up with room temp cool boiled water Edited to add I have also made up in advance or used a thermos for hot water... Otherwise you'd be tied to the house! It's a shame there isn't official nhs advice on formula.
  6. You could take Milton and a container in case of delays, but I def recommend taking enough pre sterilised bottles to last you the whole flight.
  7. We had travel insurance via our bank account, worth checking if you already have it. I didn't need additional pregnancy insurance as it's not considered a medical condition - would only have needed extra if I had had known complications.
  8. Addiction is difficult to beat. In AA they believe that you are an addict for life, regardless of whether you are sober at the time, if you see what I mean. It doesn't matter whether you thought she was good at her job etc, this is just such a tragic story and begins before she was born with her mums issues. I feel so sorry for her and her family.
  9. This is totally off topic but did you know you can get sleeping bags with a memory foam base? Called duvalay. Looking at it for our camper but it did cross my mind that it would be good for those of us that spend nights in with unsettled kids! (I have no advice, kids much younger, but i hope things improve x)
  10. We have that one, and an angel sounds one. Both are good.
  11. I didn't read that one but I would also recommend birth skills by juju sindin
  12. We use a camera which you can log onto over the internet. I'd probably rather have a bespoke child monitor, but we already had it so used it for this. I love having the option of video and would der recommend it.
  13. I think it depends on your house. Eg the depth of the steps, the flooring, etc. We have 2 steps down onto tiles and kids just don't see the second step. Although my son is fine with it we need the gate for visiting kids. We don't have gates everywhere but we have 3 and I'm lobbying for a fourth before baby starts to crawl. (We have lots of steps) All gates need that extra bit of wood to balance the skirting, sadly! Unless you have skirting that is low enough to mount the whole thing above it.
  14. Does he have a scooter yet?
  15. That's a good point miss - use it like a ring sling ie with baby upright rather than in a pouch type position
  16. Thanks for all the advice and support. He has it mildly really so we are very lucky.
  17. Yes I liked my babasling, good for hip carries when your baby is older too.
  18. Agree with train set, Popular toys from age1-2 in our house were duplo, tea set, toy bus, digger etc, train set. The nice thing about duplo and train set is when people ask what to buy you can easily give them ideas that suit a range of budgets.
  19. We always take ours, and it's always been free to take, but you need to check with the airline. Buy a case/bag for it though.
  20. The nappy lady is selling a proper running buggy at the moment. Would you consider a separate buggy for running vs everyday use? I wouldn't run with my p&t as it doesn't have the suspension, I think it's a bumpier rude than some brand (I used to run with my bugaboo bee though so I'm probably not qualified to comment) The out and about nipper does a running buggy which looks really good.
  21. I have an ergo. It's great but I have also bought a beco Gemini as I find it more comfy being able to cross the straps... This wasn't an issue with my first but I am carrying my 2nd more and I just find it easier having crossed straps. I would really recommend that you get a 2nd hand sling for the newborn stage eg a ring sling or wrap (or actually lots of people rave about the baby bjorn for the early days, it's normally later they switch to something else) Then go to a sling library and try them all on. But if you def want to buy now, then the manduca has the edge over the ergo I reckon.
  22. Thanks everyone. He seems to be getting back to where we were so I'm glad I waited! Seeing hv today so will mention it anyway.
  23. Just to say I wasn't suggesting in any way it was your fault! Glad they are taking it so seriously.
  24. That's very scary! Were you going backwards or frontwards off the train?
  25. I do remember one trip where I was handing out snacks, toys etc and getting increasingly frantic as my stocks ran out... Felt like a ticking time bomb! Thankfully only a few stops left when the tantrum erupted meaning a minimum of noise for others and he was exhausted and asleep by the time we got home. It is so hard to have the stress of other peoples judgement on top of what you are already dealing with ie the actual kid. Anyway, chalk it up to experience and good luck with getting the feeding to where you want it! I'm glad you werent on your own!
