I find that proximity to death tends to bring out the superstitious side in a lot of people, I dont think a belief in a higher power necessarily translates to a newfound faith in organised religion though.

If you ever find yourself strapped to a sofa first thing in the morning it has to be the alternating Litigation/Loan adcycle(usually during the Jeremy Kyle adbreak). Sue someone or consolidate all those little debts into one great f**k-off debt. Either way your either f**king yourself or your f**king someone else. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside doesnt it....

I rate them i really do, especially the blue cheese burger. I think its reasonably priced, after all you'll spend a fiver for a meal at MuckDs. The chips are pretty disapointing though and obviously frozen, bit crap after you go to all those lengths to get the burger right.

Your right, I've never been impressed with Starbucks...lukewarm and burnt coffee isnt my idea of fun. If you want to us a chain use Cafe Nero, far superior. Although the 70p mug of (fresh)coffee in the Dulwich Cafe is hard to beat for quality and price.

I live on forest hill road next to The Herne Tavern and was a little perturbed to see A couple of engineers replete with theodolites marking out that nice bit of green that overlooks the park(dont know what its called). Please dont tell me this nice little patch has been gobbled up by more avaricious developers. Its a regular footie pitch for some of the young lads around here and it would be a shame if it was used to build more cardboard houses.

The Dream Machine aint really like any other shop on The Lane, the owner John effectively told me that he doesnt care if the place makes a profit or not(as long s the rents paid for). Its more of a base for his forays into music/band management. Quite refreshing actually, like having a festival pitch on The lane. I'd quite happily donate a few hours of my time just to have a rifle through the records and bore people witless with muso chat.

The crime scene 'Fuck me!' sequence is one of the funniest tv moments ever, 10 mins of differnetly voiced 'fuck mes!' as they ascertain what transpired during the shooting. Sheer quality and totally original.
