I'm still miffed they don't serve Irn-Bru in a glass bottle. In fact, they don't even serve Irn-Bru on tap. Louisa.

The Plough service is dreadful too, alongside the food. I agree SJ, M&B do service like a vegan restaurant does pork sausages. Louisa.
  3. Quids you wouldn't see a well respected independent garden centre close in Bromley. Mind you, you'd be unlikely to see a Morrisons open up in its place either. They've already got a Waitrose. Louisa.

The service at this place caved in years ago. Only a 15 minute wait at the bar for a beer. Who's counting anyway. Louisa.
  5. A sad day for East Dulwich. Louisa.
  6. In a thread of such sensitivity, it seems a shame that once again the EDF swings wildly off-topic, with yet another self-indulgent game of cat and mouse tactics regarding misunderstanding of use of words. Just an observation. Louisa.
  7. DaveR not sure if describe the wearing of a baseball cap in the British sense as unique to any class demographic, it's more complex than that, it has affiliations with all sorts of groups as a form of head ware. However, I take your point. I'd probably go for some sort of arty cloth cap with working class origins but now associated with a more affluent group. Louisa.
  8. What's wrong with class based stereotypes? If the cap fits. Louisa.
  9. KFC opening up rahrahrah. Louisa.
  10. I'm sure Eric and Margaret would disagree with your analysis *Bob*, water under the bridge nonetheless. Once Pret arrives locally I will be smugly satisfied that a McDonalds owned French sounding eatery has arrived to rival the Clapham blow-in indies aimed at the disaffected Putneyites. Boom. Louisa.
  11. Coupe de crevettes. It is now. Louisa.
  12. *Bob* I may need counselling. Bugaboo gang members trawling the streets and caf?s annoying everyone else in ED make me so angry. Louisa.
  13. Bloody pretentious French rubbish. The true French restaurant was Le Moulin, which none of you gastro experts visited on a regular basis contributing to it's closure. But now something nice, poncey and Clapham friendly has moved in its fabulous darling. Do me a quaver. Louisa.
  14. LD is onto something here. Working class single mothers (in particular but not exclusively) are often looked down upon by the smug middle class bugaboo owning mothers who are probably more comfortable financially. You do see it all the time, and these new parents often act as though they are the first parent ever to walk the earth and deserve special treatment even though many would have been the types to sneer at single mothers back in the day. Louisa.
  15. Amen to that LD. Louisa.
  16. What fabulous news. All the buggy brigade with their screaming kids can now go here and free up the other caf?s for the rest of the population of ED who are sick of rampaging kids when we want some peace and quiet whilst nursing out coffee and cakes. Louisa.
  17. I for one am still in shock over this. Cannot believe he would do this sort of thing, it sickens me and makes me doubt the sincerity of major institutions who allowed these people to get away with this sort of thing for decades. How was this so? Times have hopefully changed for the better, and such things could not and would not be allowed to happen under the public gaze so brazenly today as they clearly were in the 60s/70s and even 80s. Louisa.
  18. Nunhead home to Sopers and Ayres, independent local institutions which are my main reasons for visiting the place on a regular basis. Anyone know what happened to Rudds green grocers? Another local institution? It seems to have disappeared? Louisa.
  19. You lot should get out more. Live a little. I still have all nighters every so on. Louisa.
  20. Otta I wouldn't be too offended, the EDF is a minefield of online shock jocks as you know. Louisa.
  21. Putting the snobbish stereotypes to one side. Surely someone, anyone rummaging through your bins is disturbing and potentially could involve criminal activity such as ID theft? Why was this not reported to the police? Louisa.
  22. Not everyone is obsessed with restaurants or gastropubs. What is this middle class obsession all about? Is that what makes an area? And what makes a pub "nice" Jeremy? I've been in the one supposedly "nice" pub in Nunhead which to me and others is overpriced and devoid of atmosphere and personality these days. When I was younger Nunhead was a nice quiet neighborhood where everyone knew each other and was always distinct from busier Peckham nearby with its own unique parade of shops which has remained pretty much intact. But that's all. It's not a village, unless somehow it's no longer an urban suburb and has miraculously been transferred back to rural surrey/kent without my knowledge. Louisa.
  23. Nunhead village. The things posh people are fed by bs estate agents is astonishing. Neither area is particularly amazing tbh. Louisa.
  24. I used to add a chunk of cheddar to said pot noodle back in the day. The Bombay bad boy is a bit too spicy and I hate beef and tomato. Yes you added the sprinkle of Parmesan that's the one. I'm dribbling at the thought. I've since found out it was discontinued when Golden Wonder handed the reigns over to unilever. Tragic outcome. Louisa.
  25. What happened to it? Been everywhere can't find it. Louisa.
