  1. *Bob* bed would be more my style ???? yum yum. Louisa (btw *Bob*, do you honestly think i'm selling up now with falling house prices, you must be having a bubble bath hunny bunny)
  2. KalamityKal's house, where I can be fed organic mushrooms and live a longer life than that underclass family across the road. Louisa
  3. I disagree completely. The "new middle class", the urban 20 to 30 something who has supplied ED with the gentrification, are the very people who enjoy wasting cash on extravagent lifestyles and travelling, and I believe that this is primarily because they do not understand the worth of money and have failed to live through a recession when times have been hard (that counts ofr most people though) and secondly and probably most likely, because aspects of snobbery run through their veins passed down from previous generations. They honestly believe that good living makes them better in every possible way to poorer people, be that for cultural or economicreasons. Louisa.
  4. 8. Clive's 8 bedroom mansion in Buckinghamshire (my mother was one of his one stale loaf of bread a week merchants). DPF sweetie, I know I do get your blood pumping like no other issue, but please refrain from biting off your nose to spite your face. Louisa
  5. DPF for people who can afford to move into a working class area and transform it within a decade into some sort of middle class utopia in which the real world is (temporarily) boxed out for a few years (or until the reality of the dire situation catches up), living in London is fine! We all know middle class people are just as bad with broadsheets at reading what they want to hear and taking for granted that everything is rosey and getting better (such an optimistic bunch), just as poor scummy people supposedly hang on the every word of the Sun or Mirror. The reality is that London and Britain is at the end of the line and the golden age is long gone. You can run but you cant hide, and eventually the magnitude of the situation catches up with those still living in dreamland (also known as most of inner south west London, Islington ED and a few other ghetto like communities) but by then it's too late. Very amusing to listen to some of the posts on here about how great London is, obviously you people do not travel much for the middle classes! Louisa.
  6. Mark, it seems you cannot raise a post without bringing my name up can you sweetie? If you have feelings for me then dont be shy, i'm looking for an excuse to dump Mr Louisa atm. Clive3300 for people on a low income that ?6 that you shrugged off as cheap is actually an hours work for them. You obviously fit into my catergory of middle class who enjoys spending. You cannot appreciate the value or worth or anything, you see yourself as live today pay tomorrow. It worries me. You know you arnt getting anything better, but because you are wet behind and ears and because of aspects of snobbery, you buy these more expensive items anyway. You create class distinction in this country, not people like me who raise these issues. Louisa.
  7. 03 of October 2007 mean anything to you jonsuissy? toys being thrown out of pram on that ocassion about the porsche story. Oh dear, it seems you can spend a whole afternoon analyzing my posts to degrade me and try to make me out as a phoney, and I look at your first historical post I drag up and find a hissy fit taking place. Too right it's easy to hide behind your keyboard, judging me online proves your earlier post's point lmao. Louisa. (I'd better not travel abroad in future apparantly it's only a middle class pursuit, what a moron)
  8. *Bob* quite right, I wouldnt want that either. Louisa.
  9. I quite agree Cassius, and the fact people are prepared to spend a fortune on an item which has the same cosmetic or natural purity as a cheaper item then it proves my point about how fickle and downright stupid the middle classes are. Go ahead and spend money, i'd certainly not have it on my conscience if I owned a snobby cafe locally! Louisa.
  10. mamafeelgood, sometimes people on a low budget cannot afford these supposedly better quality items you make claim to being so fantastic. I would suggest any food from a decent source and sold at reasonable prices is a good thing. I buy fairtrade fruit from the supermarket if it's a foreign fruit, and I try to buy locally produced British if it's in stock and what I want. But many of the people who buy expensive items do so because they want to feel as though they are being offered something others are not getting. I see this in places like Blue Mountain, Mon petit chou and GBK every day of the week. You cannot justify selling meals at these sorts of prices in local cafe's. But it makes good business sense i guess if you can live with a guilty conscience. Louisa.
  11. *bob* and to think you are neglecting over 5 generations of family born and raised in good old Orpington. Obviously come up in the world living around trendy old ED, i'll have to parcel on some sandels and a fake goatey to you. Louisa.
  12. DPF even after the Administrator tells people to stay on topic you fail to understand, you really do need to sort out your communication skills or else you'll end up being employed by Southwark Council. Tut tut (whos the one rewarding themselves with the victory btw, seems to be you EDF, you obviously see this as some sort of competition). Louisa.
  13. Can we get back on topic people or else this will land up in the Lounge. NCR market should be for everyone and not just the elitist folks from Chiswick and Richmond looking for cheaper housing stock. Louisa. (historic migration to Australia is still continuing to this day and remains number one destination for permanant emigration out of the UK, that is a fact)
  14. DPF, You are right, I do feel embarrassed, and mostly for you. The supposedly "insane remarks" I had made were raised completely out of context with what we had been talking about. I stick by what I said back then, but why raise it here? It isnt proving anything other than your inability to communicate properly. Get to grips with the basics of communication then maybe we can continue where we left off. KalamityKal, what have you been sniffing today? If you want to argue about what I have said then raise something directly which I have said without describing it as a "random rant". Goodness me. *Bob* you forgot the BOOM! Le Moulin. Louisa.
  15. mockney, statistically most UK migrants head to Australia, NZ, the USA and Canada on a permanant basis. Migrating between EU nation states (as many Polish people have done recently) does not constitute emigration in my book. Louisa.
  16. DPF if you are going to raise an issue about a previous post then have the decency to refer back to that particular post rather than make some insane remark about a battered sausage. My posting may be off topic and come across as ranting on ocassion, but yours lack any consistency and make you seem ignorant. And whilst we are on this topic, yes the fact Seacow rips off it's clientele by serving up just fish and nothing else like most fish and chip shops do, proves to me that they only want to attract a certain class of clientele (rightly or wrongly). Louisa.
  17. I would not describe 300,000 people a year small Sean, and you are right in saying IF the UK isolates itself from it's trading partners, but the simple fact we and other 'old world' nations of Europe have to rely on a super state structure to compete in a global market proves that Europe has had it and is heading up the creek. Ireland has beniffted greatly from the EU, but they started off with little to lose in the first place and yes they have been the success of Europe in recent years, but again Irish emigration still matches immigration, which further reinforces my point about how Europe really is just an old lady on her death bed. Louisa.
  18. I bet DPF and the DPF family are all skinny under nurished pastey individuals who eat bizarre mixtures of supposedly organic produce for tea every night. Where did battered sausages come from? You really are bugging me now with your absurd remarks. Stop it please. Mockney, If i were born in 1840, I am almost certain that death would have come 70 years + ago darling. Louisa.
  19. No I think just by reading from official statistics which show that nearly 300,000 people a year are emigrating permanantly out of the UK to live elsewhere in the world, we can come to the conclusion that large numbers of people no longer see this country as being worthy of spending the rest of your life here. That was not a statistic from a tabloid newspaper, but then middle class people cannot appreciate that, If people genuinely cannot see that a small island nation with very few natural resources and dependent on a service sector economy isnt going to head further up the creek within the coming century then they obviously are living in the ED version of neverland. Louisa.
  20. I consulted the council on this issue after witnessing and being involved in the fairly recent incident of a parent&child and an eledrly lady with her small dog. I rang Southwark to ask them about the fencing issue and even gave them some very sensible solutions, but in their infinite wisdom, I was sent a letter a few days after the request on the telephone inviting me to the Goose Green centre after the meeting had taken place! Need I say anymore about what a waste of space Southwark Council are? I personally think lemmings would do a better job at counselling suicidal fruit cases down at beachy head, than this lot are capable of being able to run a London local authority! Louisa.
  21. clive3300, I would hardly describe London at the zenith of it's history. London is a decaying, grubby city which was once the capital of a huge empire, and is now the only half decent thing the UK has going for it (aside from Ken Dodd), so please dont patronise me with the b*llocks about how this wonderful great capital city is so great, we all know the UK has had it, and is on a gradual downward spiral. DPF, Bromley is wealthier than ED, shows how much you know lmao, and please dont lecture me on how poor people eat the wrong types of food, you're not exactly a nutritionist yourself areyou sweet pea? BJL thanks for reinforcing my point btw, keep up the good work. Louisa.
  22. BJL you are the one who has the issue with variety and difference confused. Brixton market has changed little in the years it has been there, it may be more diverse, but that is something which comes with the changing face of a city or place over time. NCR market has been manufactured into a false traditional experience of a market so that it is safe and comfortable for middle class people to do their shopping without fear of exposure to the underclass or 'ordinary' working class people. All of the stalls sell overpriced goods for aimed at snobs who have moved into the area within the last five to ten years. It has no real substance. The great market which once dominated this stretch of road was not forced there, it grew over time and evolved. I love diversity, hence why I visit market's like the ones in Brixton, Lewisham, Bromley. My point is these places all contain a diverse range of produce for everyone and have been around for years, this one on NCR likes to give that impression, but it is clearly aimed at one income group within this area. *Bob* I still use the above and enjoy them as much as possible, i'm sure given another decde such little treats will be gone forever as yet another couple of boutiques take over those retail units! lmao Louisa. Sean, yes you are totally right on that one. Perhaps it is a little harsh to put everyone who has moved here within the last decade into that catergory, but I am sure the types of people who visit the market and claim to love the area so much are the ones who walk blindly into a rough area and have little common sense in understanding the possibility of being mugged or attacked. These are the people who lack worldly understanding Sean, and you are fully aware of the types of people I refer to.
  23. I would not ignore complaints about the fence, but I would argue the case that it is by far the best option and any other options explored by the council will result in further confusion with little result at the end - oh, and it may cost a few thousands pounds of our money to sort it out! Ridiculous, I honestly believe that any council in their right mind would have dealt with this issue a long time ago, but in the wisedom of this worldy bunch of 'no-hoper's' confined to the council offices in Peckham, it will go on for a little longer just so that they can be seen to be doing something for us all. How about spending some money on "real" issues rather than dithering around pety fencing issues in a small park. Louisa.
  24. Too bloody right DPF. And I actually pity you, because you are typical of the type of person that visits this market. You'll probably end up travelling outside of London one day and seeing a bit more of life, until then you can carry on being, as your EDF identity suggests, a mythical creature living within the boundaries of a land beyond reality in which middle class people can pretend the world around them is perfect. Louisa.
  25. jonsuissy I think maybe you should get off your pro Southwark soapbox and climb into reality here. This council has year on year put up council tax, they admitted last year alone that almost every single one of their departments had gone over budget and predicted "above-inflation council tax rises for the foreseeable future", so guess what they do to remedy this wastefulness? Councillor Toby Eckersley, executive member for finance, said he was calling for a review on the publicity spending. He said: "In light of this, all areas of discretionary expenditure need to be looked at very closely." What a joke, why cant common sense prevail when it comes to spending? We do not need the fence removed from GG, what we need is to maintain the dog area as it is and provide a key to sensible dog owners who wish to use the facility. It doesnt cost much to put a lock on a couple of gates does it? Consulations are meant to be a way of doing the local community a favour, but having experienced this horrid council for most of my life, I have seen these wasteful consultations lead to nothing but further confusion. Louisa.
