Bravo Mick Mac!! Even though you're a bogtrotter, you've once again proved yourself as a valuable source of opinion and sound direction on the forum. I've alway's had an enormous crush on the BBC's stable of totty, and I'm not ashamed to admit it either. Emily Maitlis does indeed have a gorgeous legs and I'd happily say that to her face. However, lets not forget the beautiful Sophie Raworth whose 'assets' I'd could stare at for any given length of time. I once had an enviable encounter with ITV's dusky anchor Nina Hossain in Leicester Square and she was a lovely woman and I even had a picture taken with the two of us which she graciously autographed. And now, the weather.

I binged on poorly cooked spicy samosa's a few days after a smoke. I felt a bit poorly this morning but after I dropped a dreadnought into the bog of such sea going proportions that gave back a bit of return fire (splashback), I had such a stinging ring piece it felt just like a Dragon's nostril. I suppose that could go towards explaining my disagreeable temprement of late.

Full stops are a virtue on your character Quids. Pinhead.

It is actually bare Lou. Pinhead. However... I appreciate that it could be seen as a one way street and I'm mainly highlighting the general feeling of mutual respect given to Brits since we share such a common history and to an extent, culture. I agree that the 'special relationship' is, a mainly one way street concerning U.S interests, but it can be beneficial when we're leaning away from Europe. A luxury that most E.U members don't enjoy. Apart from America, Russia has got to be without a doubt, the most pikey nation on earth. It's far to big for it's own good and is run by some of the shadiest characters imaginable. The place is a mess!

The Mexican and Canadian borders, as well as the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

Well done Jah. That was a considerate reply.

The Police don't need grenade launchers Mockney. All I'm saying is that serious military hardware should only be held by those in charge, not available on the open market.

I'm generally pro-American and am a great supporter of the 'special relationship'. I also think that Barack Obama is going to prove himself as a great force for change in the future. I was particularly impressed by his decision to introduce legislation capping the pay of many of Wall Streets players. That took a lot of guts to essentially say to an incredibly powerful institution that "you got us into this mess, now you're going to pay for your mistakes". I personally don't think that any administration will successfully disarm it's citizens as there is a genuine feeling that they need the right to bare arms entrenched in their mind set. This is most probably encouraged by the countries pioneer, wild west history and Americans are a very proud and patriotic people who wont give in to the connection they have with their past and forefathers. My issue with the current gun laws and politics isn't the fact they're constitutionally entitled to a firearms certificate but it's the type of hardware they have access to. In several states (mainly New England) people are allowed to purchase and hold several automatic weapons. To get hold of the particular rubber stamp on your license all you have to do is pay a $300 tax to the ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) for each weapon you wish to purchase. In the state of California it's perfectly legal to own a grenade launcher and many do. My point is that this sort of kit should only be reserved for the Military and Police, not for citizens. Basically, you don't need an anti tank weapon to hunt dear or protect your home. My one word to sum up the Yanks. Transparent.

All be it fair and well that you started a thread drawing attention to the supposed death of the esteemed Didgeridooist but now that it's been pointed that the artist is alive and well Tony, I bet you feel like an utter pillock right now. I've taken the liberty of commissioning Mr Harris to dedicate a portrait of yourself. http://images.chron.com/blogs/nickanderson/archives/giulianisketch.jpg Mug!!

Please somebody pull out my wisdom teeth now.......
bigbadwolf replied to Kells's topic in The Lounge
"BBW I'm glad I'm not in the R.A.F and never will be, do people still pull teeth out on the cheap now?" Yes, I imagine it would've been an uncomfortable flight back to their base in Alex. I don't think the practice of pulling teeth out with a door (or propeller) and a piece of string is very widespread Kells, but I imagine that sort of thing still goes on in Gypsy camps and Irish households who are parishioners of the Christian Brotherhood. -
Ted Max is a really funny and erudite member of the forum isn't he. He's polite and funny all at the same time but doesn't rise to the arguements on here. I bet, however, he treats everyone who works underneath him with the venomous contempt you'd expect from a foul mouthed, slack jawed jock such as himself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOYsN7G8p0E&feature=related

I may be accused of going slightly off topic here, but I'll do it anyway. I live in the vastly superior borough of Lewisham and as residents, we recieve a monthly circular called Lewisham Life. I know there are critics of this publication but I find it an informative and slick window into the inner workings of the Council. It came through the door yesterday evening and I was pleased to read about a new initiative the council is pursuing. When a teenage resident turns 18 they recieve a personal birthday card from the Mayor, Steve Bullock. I know that this is a platform to encourage young people to use their vote, and Lewisham's planning department are about as bent as a nine bob note, but it's still a pleasant gesture on behalf of the local authority. Another article I was even more pleased to see was a story into the self build houses pioneered by the inovative Architect Walter Segal. There are two of these sites in the borough but the article focused on the one on Honor Oak road. The resident they interviwed was the charming Rastafarian David Dayes whose son Jamal I went to school with. We remain firm friends and although he's left home it's always a pleasure to be invited to the annual street party thrown in Walters way to commemorate the completion of the cutting edge project.

It also serves as a tool of middle class oneupmanship against visitors from other parts of the captial. When inquired by their curious guests they lie and say they never read it. "Ooo, Cressida, what's this?" "Oh it's just a monthly circular about south London, me and Ptolemy never bother with it."

No Steve. The groundkeepers of the Highland estates taught the world a valueable lesson in the art of camouflage, not marksmanship.
-
I think it should be renamed the Irony Room since the same brand of incessant sniping and barbed messages are ever present, even though it's meant to be the retreat of polite discussion. I'm not allowed in either.

I'm off to prepare a noose.

Jesus wept! I can't do anything right can I PGC. I'll probably cock up spelling 'O.K' next.

They also go around head butting each other, and that's just in the playground.
