I value the work teachers do highly. I do not support the strike. Not supporting this strike is not the same as not valuing teachers. The majority of teachers do not support the strike. 24.5% of NUT members voted for it. NASUWT, the second-largest union, aren't striking.

I'm not sure about the data though as it appears to be counting only those that are studying in-borough.

I run to (or home from)work sometimes - once or twice a week. I have a shower at the destination, although my colleagues can normally tell from my still red-face if I have run in.

I would imagine most parents would support the tests. As a parent, I certainly want to know how well, or not, my children are progressing. I also want to know how well the school is doing. And I think the first round of testing has to be when they are quite young (6/7 being about right) so progress/value add can be measured for both the school and the child.

" When Caffe Nero opened, I think people felt that local, independent coffee shops might be under threat. I get that, and thankfully it didn't turn out that way. I think Brickhouse, Scala and Aneto have all opened since Nero appeared... But with Sweaty Betty, that angle doesn't exist and it's difficult to see why anyone would get upset by it. It's just a shop opening.

Buses don't have the same recycled air that planes do. Also you could get off the bus and call an ambulance more readily .

Agree with much of what has been said here. Neither Corbyn or McDonnell are electable leaders. That won't change. The Tories should be in the mire right now, so it's a crying shame we don't have a credible opposition. It's not clear who the next leader of the LP could be. Emily Thornberry was impressive on QT last week. Pity she ruled herself out of ever being leader of the Labour party when she posted the 'White Van' tweet. Who else? Chuka - Would have been great, but second chances don't come easy Keir Starmer doesn't seem to want it, and lacks parliamentary experience Hilary Benn, maybe???

I was going to go that match and will most likely go the rescheduled fixture. I support the club and commend their efforts with this. But still, I am really struggling to see how the postponement of this friendly fixture at a non-League club makes a national news outlet?? Anyone??

When the LB to Charing X service is running it's not too bad. The change takes about five mins - the trains take a while to get to Charing X, but that's the same on that line wherever you start from. In the meantime it's frustrating. I had to do it at the weekend and on my return journey I took the Circle/District Line from Embankment to Monument, walked across London Bridge, then got the train back to ED. It seemed quicker than any other way I have tried lately.

I have been to Croydon. I wouldn't go so far as to say I hang out there though. It always used to be good for music with Rock Bottom for music gear in West Croydon and some v good record shops dotted around; Beanos, 101, Mi-Price...

Little Kickers at Habs Sports Ground in Nunhead is great for a 4 year old. I think Danny/Athenlay is more for 6 yr olds and up. It's drop-in by the way - pay a fiver in cash on the day. Under 8's session is 9:30-11:00am on Saturdays.

Don't have Danny's contact details as such, but my boy goes to Athenlay and Danny is there every Saturday morning, so you could pop down there. Or Athenlay have a Facebook page which is updated regularly.

I called the box office today. It's far from sold out and tickets will be available on the day. You would need to to alow some time to queue though.

Yeah, but do you know what - I wouldn't dance, walk or cycle on the M25 because it would be both illegal and highly dangerous. But I would do all of those activities, some better than others, in the appropriate settings without considering them inherently dangerous. Also I don't really recognise your characterisation that pedestrian fatalities involving motor-vehicles are resultant of doing something 'dumb/illegal'

Four times as many pedestrians are killed (than cyclists) in road traffic accidents, so does that make walking a dangerous activity? About one or two people are killed each year by bicycles. Surely there's a huge difference between being killed by and being killed whilst?

No - over a hundred people are killed on bicycles a year, but it's not the cycling that does for most of them, it's more commonly the motor-vehicle that ploughs into them doing the damage.
