  1. Yeah, but do you know what - I wouldn't dance, walk or cycle on the M25 because it would be both illegal and highly dangerous. But I would do all of those activities, some better than others, in the appropriate settings without considering them inherently dangerous. Also I don't really recognise your characterisation that pedestrian fatalities involving motor-vehicles are resultant of doing something 'dumb/illegal'
  2. Four times as many pedestrians are killed (than cyclists) in road traffic accidents, so does that make walking a dangerous activity? About one or two people are killed each year by bicycles. Surely there's a huge difference between being killed by and being killed whilst?
  3. No - over a hundred people are killed on bicycles a year, but it's not the cycling that does for most of them, it's more commonly the motor-vehicle that ploughs into them doing the damage.
  4. Tickets at CPFC normally cost ?35 and upwards For league matches, tickets go to members first and can sell out before going on general sale. If there is a discount for members it's nominal. This Saturday is an FA Cup game against Stoke and tickets are available for ?15.00 as demand is generally lower for cup games. Hamlet is a tenner to get in and is great. It might well be raining this weekend though, and there isn't much cover there, so you and your friends may get wet.
  5. Scary @ Sainsbury's? I get that not many people are going to be shopping with their young children post 9:00 pm, but at that time, there are always loads of other spaces near the store anyway - so why would you need to?
  6. Grok Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Kids, babies, prams, non alcohol drinkers in pubs > killed pubs Is that really the case though? Wasn't it more that lack of custom meant that they weren't viable businesses anymore. The operators who ran The Foresters? et al weren?t making money so they closed. Then new operator(s) came in with a business model that worked better.
  7. Assuming that's somebody's home address, should that really be posted on the forum? Appreciate that anyone could seek it out, but still!
  8. I'm confused - I thought that Dulwich IS the suburbs??
  9. Take travel-sickness tablets before the journey begins Wear travel sickness wrist-bands Don?t allow the child to read or use tablets. Avoid heavy meals before long journeys Take the main roads where practical, not loads of side-streets
  10. Question. what right do people have to restrict parking to others on a public highway for their own benefit? Dependent on how you look at it, every right. Isn't that what happens every time someone parks a motor vehicle on the public highway? Someone parks their car outside my house, so I park my car as close as I can - outside my neighbour's house etc.
  11. It's not a great idea. It wouldn't be popular. Hope that answers your question.
  12. Yes, me too. What about contacting the management company? Is it rubbish from the residents, or fly-tipping?
  13. Is there any corroboration for this though? It seems no more than a rumour at the moment. And if it were planned for summer of this year, surely there would be a paper trail by now...
  14. How many evening games would there typically be in a season out of interest?
  15. Grok, where are these no-go areas. I run home from work sometimes and am worried that I might be unwittingly entering them. What should I be looking out for?
  16. Sorry that your daughter is unwell - hope she recovers soon. Your question would be best answered by a medical professional though. I would either speak with the original doctor or contact NHS 111. ETA cross-posted
  17. Hi there - sounds well dodgy to me. Please inform the police.

In reality hardly anyone (either incoming > or outgoing) actually personifies them.
  19. And just a little bit condescending with it

    Capital

I thought it was set specifically in Tooting? Didn't see it, but read that in the blurb somewhere, Was it good?
  21. Duck and Waffle is great - we went there with our kids earlier this year - then six and two. They really enjoyed it, it's smart, certainly but not at all stuffy. The views are amazing, and it's not even that expensive!
  22. Our kids are at Bessemer; one in year two, and the other in the nursery with an application submitted for her to join Reception in Sep 2016. We?re really happy with the school. It has great facilities with access to neighbouring school fields. All of the teaching and leadership staff we have met have been very impressive and we feel our kids are doing really well there. If Bessemer is your first choice, you should still fill out the other five choices, but given how close you are it is difficult to think of any circumstances where you wouldn?t get it.
  23. Foxy - you enjoy it however it works best for you - but not sure it's fair to call the views expressed above pretentious.
  24. You should report that to the police if you know that to be happening.
  25. As long as the Cherry Tree is open for a pre-match pint and burger!!
