  1. Don't know how the section of Crawthew that was done got chosen. It was fine. The beginning section from the junction with LL to the corner is absolutely awful on both sides. In winter patches of ice build up all over the place because of successive poorly made utility repairs. Can this be added to the list?
  2. Hi James, would be nice to hear if any progress on the waste being dumped outside the Foxton flats? I've been quietly waging a war against the Bishop for their hilarious 1am waste pickups. I think I finally won. Just having read the other thread, my sincere condolences. The above is unimportant.
  3. I see that some people have storage sheds for bikes out front which I would like to do myself. But apparently you have to put in planning permission for any permanent structure forward of your front elevation. Which is nuts. You can have 3 eyesores in the form of council wheeliebins but not a small shed.
  4. Yes I have. Both as the recipient and the one in charge of a crew who caused damage so I guess it's a wash. Except the latter case was at one of the largest stately homes in England 😭 Location fee utterly dwarfed by the insurance claim.
  5. James, can you advise what the response was from the council about the refuse dumped outside the new Foxton flats? No sooner was it collected then the pile was replaced by 5 or 6 more bags. A few days later that was collected... Surely the point is that the bags shouldn't be left there in the first place? Being a new development, provision should have been made for occupants' refuse and I think local residents should be able to demand that an alternative to the public pavement be found immediately.
  6. And you'll spend ?10k restoring your property after a film crew's been through it. Make sure you get a lot of insurance before you let them in.
  7. There was a major leak on the GG roundabout a short time back and it took TW a week to even start work on it. And when they did, the gaping hole in the road was left there for days causing chaos. This is just the way they do things.
  8. Hi James, do we have a response from the council re. Crawthew Grove? Rubbish is still there...
  9. James - wondered if you knew who to speak to: The people in the new flats above the Foxtons on LL are regularly dumping rubbish outside their building on the pavement. Would this be classed as basically fly-tipping?
  10. Another completely wasteful visit by Conway this morning. Huge trucks and plant came down to Crawthew Grove to fix two potholes. Why didn't they fix the 21 other potholes at the same time? Presumably so they can charge more money to the council for inevitably having to return to do the rest of the work. What a total a complete waste of everyone's time and money.
  11. I think the bike hangars, much as they're a great idea, were designed by the same person who designed the Southwark bins - to cause as much of a clash against the urban landscape as possible.
  12. I mean if you look at the sign on the development it confirms exactly what's being built and it includes a library!
  13. A ?0 glance at the sign outside the development would confirm the replacement library is still on.
  14. The charge for their use means they are cost neutral in about ten years. So it should have nothing whatsoever to do with preventing dodgy pavements' repair. And ours could use a hell of a lot.
  15. rch that's not correct. I have an FOI response from the council stating that the reason for the delay in completing the works at the entrance to NXR was because Conway didn't order the granite in good time from China and they had to down tools while waiting for it. The whole enterprise cost in excess of a quarter of a million pounds, a figure to this day I find (and curiously few others) utterly extraordinary.
  16. I've complained to the council twice about some sections of Crawthew Grove's pavements due to repeated digging and relaying by contractors over the years. It's been so long since it was repaved that the council can't even tell me when it was last done. I see local roads being repaved all the time unnecessarily and yet ours is always overlooked.
  17. Not much use if the air outside is as hot or hotter than that inside! Better off putting blinds up than opening windows. But I agree, not having working a/c is an embarrassment.
  18. Fees for a hot food stall were ?120.. not sure whether that's par for the course or not. Others will know.
  19. In my view the only thing that was unbearable was the prices - ?5 for a hotdog is preposterous. Having said that, the freebies they laid on for the kids were a delight so maybe I should factor that in!
  20. In future you can use this email address: parks@southwark.gov.uk Put 'dangerous structure in children's playground' in the subject and it is always dealt with within 24hrs. I've done this several times. What would obviously be better is if the council proactively monitored their sites for defective equipment but I guess we generally have to do it for them.
  21. Sorry to hear, hope it doesn't spoil your trip too much. http://www.rockdoor.com roughly 1300-1500 installed. We have one and they're very tough and police approved. Or if you have a bit more cash these are extraordinary, we inherited one at the last place we lived: http://high-security-doors.co.uk About 4-5k installed The critical thing is to avoid wooden doors or anything PVC where the whole thing isn't a single mould.
  22. Picturehouse will have spent many millions kitting out their ED location and are paying present day market rates on their lease. Peckhamplex hasn't spent a bean on their location lately and leases it from the council at highly favourable rates unrelated to market conditions. That's why.
