  1. ... the rye has roaring fires, but understandable I think its seasonal and that they won't have them going in June!! Their roast dinners have improved no end and are now the best locally IMHO.
  2. Don't know if I miss her, but this has reminded me about one thread wonder Alicia and her warning to us all about the Youth Offending Team being based on ED Road!

I would be > more scared to stumble across the Whately Road > characters... you seem to be a bit contradictory between this thread and the whately road one in which you say how your sister is too scared to walk down the road due to their shouting and anti social behaviour, meanwhile you rubbish sweetgirl's feeling of intimidation from the whistling man because you've shared a cuppa and he was ok then. I can't be sure but think I've encountered whistling man causing trouble in Gold Lee before complaining about the prawn crackers - he was incredibly agressive and threatening towards the owner and called the police himself (stating the prawn crackers had been too hard) who thankfully came quickly and calmed him, moving him on. You seem to be incredibly protective of your sister - at least respect similar feelings others may have too.
  4. Slept like a log!! Then again, I slept through the hurricane in 1987 despite our chimney being blown off the roof!
  5. ...and just a little bit overdue!!
  6. aw, poor STB - you should have popped into A&E = lots of fluey peeps were!!
  7. surprised its not coming in until now but: 20. Catflap man hasn't done the job and is now being tricky about returning the deposit
  8. ... is it fabled if you've experienced it?!!! Food was fab and (with no where to be for several hours) will go again!
  9. no, working instead :(
  10. SimonM Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > >>and on the gentleman caller's front - just my > fiance cheers! > The rest just applaud politely? :)) doh... let down by my rubbish grammer!! There should have been a comma there!
  11. Have had brunch in Franklins once and it was lovely, however the service does leave lots to be desired... went in there at the insistance of my other half last month and headed in at 11 in the morning, so they weren't hugely busy. I had to out by 1230 at the latest as was due in suffolk by 2pm. After 15 mins sitting right by the bar I acosted the waiter (it'd seemed he'd been trying to avoid our gaze) and asked if we would be able to order and have breakfast in the next hour, and he said it was unlikely so we upped and left, ended up having to grab brunch in the lane cafe. Maybe it is more difficult than it seems, but even if food wise their offering "the best brunch in London" (or whatever was said in the guardian) I wouldn't recommend it due to the rubbish service - or am I daft to want brunch when I'm hungry!!

  13. James' comment in the fashion advice thread just got me thinking - who would you consider the ideal neighbour/fourm drinks attender?? The reason James' comment triggered this is that I think I'd love it to be Gok Wan - to never have a bad fashion day again - so long as he didn't get me posing naked in my front window as well!!
  14. Don't know if this will be useful to know but I've got a lovely purple dress that I'm waiting for the autumn to wear again - I wear it with thick black tights and a fab pair of T-bar silver sparkly shoes - think their a size 4 if you wanted to borrow them!! x
  15. know nothing about speeds/Mbp's etc, but via our BT line we get Mad as a fish providing our wireless interweb and have no complaints, is cheaper than the BT package we were previously on and has v good customer service.
  16. no.... but the amount you're mentioning it guessing you are - wouldn't be one half of a hard working couple would you dbw1?? ;-)
  17. ...looked like stuff was getting ripped out of there the other day - guessing if he was there Fluffy would have been found. Been asking Spike (my other half's cactus) to keep an eye out but he can be a bit prickly.
  18. ... has anyone checked the forest hill rd end of Dunstans Road?? If I was a young cactus I'd be straight off there for advice from the fine cati elder on what my next move should be

  24. Moos - I've just caught up with the topic's covered in this thread!! Have to say I disagree that Jah is an eclipse man - the first (and near only thing) he's ever said to me was regarding my chest!! V sad to be missing the next drinks - annoying thing is the date is always confirmed after my off duty is done - either definite yes/no situation!
