  1. Roll on more politicians: Yorkshire assembly, Manchester parliament, English Assembly - yuck. Thanks, Scotland.
  2. It's always worked well from my experience.
  3. Only Louisa - giving charm and elocution lessons to the cast.
  4. Trap
  5. 54% No, 46% Yes
  6. Miser
  7. Im not going that way.im going the shortest route possible to save my childrens little legs from walking further than they have to. Just wrap them in cotton wool and call for a passing sunbeam to teleport them where they want to be. Sheesh!
  8. Balance - An officer wearing a Southwark badge should not be doing anything that brings Southwark into disrepute. Having a slash in public does precisely that. You should have taken his registration and reported him. Cue public pissing defenders.........
  9. Tweet it and add the Southwark handle, and maybe Tessa Jowell's too.
  10. Or cycle - preferably on the pavement. (Haha)
  11. James, I agree with you up to a point. There are plenty of non smartphone-owning OAPs who use Iceland: it's them I fear for, not the people you are talking about. I like shopping at Iceland: the service is good, basics are cheap and good value and it does provide a different kind of "shopping experience". Lots of people bang on about diversity these days; it ought to apply to the choice of grocery shops too!
  12. Hmmm. I think scores of flats for people to live in, and the associated regeneration it might well bring, trumps the disappointment over a slightly marred view of a few thousand blow-ins between June and September. Frank's will be over in a few years anyway, once the hep cats discover that Upper Norwood is where it's at.
  13. Also, a place that offers Reformer Pilates classes (not just private tuition) - ESPH offers small classes on reformer machines.
  14. How predictable that you respond chippily and completely fail to recognise that you've done something wrong. You were littering, you didn't ask for permission and you will leave the posters to rot and fall and drip ink in the rain. Just because you've done a bit of good does't give you the right to mess up the landscape for others. The mural took time to paint, is lovely to look at and is now much less so. Poor show. Do the right thing and remove them.
  15. I hope you'll be clearing up after you. The length of LL is littered with the posters: on trees, on walls, on other people's property. You've ruined the lovely mural at the ED Picture House! Are you for real? Just because you're raising money for a charity doesn't mean you can make the high street of the community you say you are a part of an eyesore. Good job on raising money. Bad job on promoting it properly.
  16. I think the urban wildlife garden has chickens: 28 Marsden Road, Peckham, London, SE15 4EE. 020 7252 9186

  18. Karmadoza, a Canadian band that covers stuff by The B-52's (6060-842) or
  19. An outdoor facility, especially if it offers food, drink and a place for "community" activities would be a good companion for the trad indoor pool at the DLC. It'd work, but only if it were heated and open year round, early till late (at least in the summer) and if the impetus to get it off the ground continued well past any initial hoopla. I hope it happens: good luck!
  20. (Hunger) pang activity
  21. It provides figures and testimony rather than pro and anti anecdotal "evidence". The take-away, as they say in the US, is is that the best way to avoid pedestrians being knocked over by cyclists on the pavement is to not allow cycle riding on the pavements.
  22. I saw Right Said Fred (the two bald ones, at least) at Luca's (RIP) two months back. Ten minutes later I saw Jim Broadbent sitting outside Mon P'tit Chou. LL is Stellar Street!
  23. I agree with EDShorty's nuanced and mature view and feel, sadly, that those who are able to pay will clamour for free parking whilst the really need ones, who have to come via taxi or public transport, wont' be refunded. It is not that simple! I think a flat fee of a pound per two hour visit is a reasonable cost. Money doesn't grow on trees, and neither does NHS provision.
  24. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-28945834 Special attention LD re cyclist (Should really be in The Lounge but posted here by mistake.)
