Define the softest most palatable brexit - THEN put it to a referendum and see if it passes But what passed was a blank cheque - any version of which leaves us worse off and displeases a large portion of people that voted to leave That is not remainers problem - remainers pointed out this WAS the problem

The problem with Jones' article, and with anyone with some vague notion of a softer brexit - is that their softer brexit can't exist in reality either Because it's not remainers like me at fault - if some softer version of Brexit was defined by May(or Corbyn) and presented - the very hardcore nutters who have driven this whole thing for decades - the very people anyone supporting brexit has to take responsibility for wouldn't stand for it. If you solve a problem like Ireland by staying a member of Single Market, you really think Jenkins and co wouldn't rip everything up?

Just to remind you keano - this government stood at the last election on the promise of no more negotianions, the deal was oven ready They are renaging on their promise to their own voters, never mind international law and the politics of other countries who we will need to trade with in the future And of course, not forgetting the potential damage to peace in Northern Ireland The EU isn't peeing its pants - they are just trying as best they can to deal with recaltricant children

Not all opposing views are equally valid. They just aren?t. And far equivalence of them is tedious and unhelpful

It's not just his problematic views tho, is it? What exactly is his "ability to be a trade envoy? ". He is a Brexit supporter and that is the extent of his qualification for this position. What stardust will he bring to negotiations? he just seems like a pig-headed remnant from the past, someone the EU and it's consitituient countries will look at and swat away

I think this opinion is more widespread However, to back up my view I'm going to say a) a party can't keep getting elected, ditching the leader within a year or two and embarking on a new program from election. If Johnson goes that will be 4th PM in 5 years b) I think the risk assesment leaked this week is likely to be off in some ways and very much on in others - I think next year will be chaos and it will be apparent that the road travelled for last 4 years is now at an end - and no way we can stumble on until 2024. There will need to be a nationwide reassesment and a new election And all of that without Scotland kicking off as an issue again

It's entirely possible glen is a windup merchant but my money is on him being real I know it's comforting to think views like his are a fringe minority - but all you have to do is do a public facing job in a social environment (eg a newsagent) and you will see just how many people actually think like this

Solution to what specifically unc? Pubs? Schools? Brexit? In all cases I can look at other countries and see better management. It?s not hard to find better
