  1. "this" as in your thread title - "Is Boris fit to lead?" The answer is clearly "no he isn't". But on this thread various people have ignored that to just strawman a "this is a leftie/momentum led" thing
  2. Given the outraged response from so many conservative voters and tory press after yesterday?s debacle, we can at least agree this isn?t some lefty obsession now?
  3. ".he has done Brexit." well - we are out of the EU legally But we aren't in practice because we are in an extendted transition. A transition which will need to be extended again by at least 1 year beacuse a) brexit was and remains a ludicrous idea in practice and b) should he decline an extension he will be responsible for the break up of the UK, damage british countries for at least a decade and in the middle of a pandemeic likely cause the deaths of many more people unnecessarily as supply chains get knocked to smithereens. He has already thrown NI unionists under the bus - fishermen and farmers are next YOu can remind me of his majority all you like but he was up against Corbyn so what could anyone expect. And just a reminder that Blair and his involvement in Iraq was widely condemned afterwards but was supported by 2/3rds of the country for a while - so quoting maths and majorities is meaningless when faced with a changing world
  4. Didn?t some scottish minister do something similar a couple of weeks into lockdown - big hoo hah followed and they resigned. It?s really simple But in England, it?s just not done anymore
  5. If only that was all he ever did
  6. I?m not sure me saying ?if Jeremy Hunt won the tory leadership contest instead of Johnson, he would have handled the situation much better?, is evidence of anything leftie Glen But you do you
  7. Deleted my message because I was mean about someone?s age
  8. The Cat is many things. But anywhere close to being a momentum supporter? As if What a post glen. Amazing. (Not in a good way)
  9. I'm willing to bet any other Prime Minister (even if it was Jeremy Hunt instead of Boris Johnson) would have been at those earlier Cobra meetings and would have taken the threat more seriously Another Prime Minister would have taken the advice of scientists etc more seriously an, critically, they would have observed what was happening in other countries and heeded the warnings and advice from there as well Another Prime Minister wouldn't have been advised NOT to shake hands and then go on television to advise the nation he would be shaking hands It's a horrble situation for any government to face but the notion that noone could have done better than Johnson beggars belief, frankly
  10. Come on cat. You?re so close. You can do this
  11. We can look at America and see highly qualified and intelligent experts standing right next to Trump, know that he is lying and they are doing and saying nothing So any idea that just because someone is medically qualified, that alone should make them above criticism seems naive
  12. who knows, "Jeremy"? But I'm straferjack/seanmacgabhann (spartacus?)
  13. very good Alan - on my part I can only say my pc logged me out of all websites and I got confused when logging back in
  14. " Personally I do not think that a hard lockdown is justified (i.e. only going out for food, medicine/treatment, or to work if you're a key worker). But I do think some sort of further restriction is probably inevitable." I'm curious about both sides of these statements. I think a harder lockdown is necessary and desirable - and therefore inevitable Why do you think it's not justified? Not looking to argue - just curious. As deaths rise daily and we look at other countries, as well as forecasts how is it not justified? But if you are correct and it isn't - why is it inevitable?
  15. you don't have to want or like a left wing government for seabag's criticism of Johnson and co to be objectively true governments of all hues in all nations are clearly struggling with this virus - but some countries are doing much better than others - and I wouldn't rate ours that highly
  16. Well we know he doesn?t get it from Facebook!
  17. mad that I accused Foxy of getting his info from mental online groups and he got huffy about it because I happened to say facebook - here is posting Cecilia bleedin Bartholemew
  18. bit more about "Cecilia Bartholemew" here
  19. ah good - I just kept reading how many people couldn't get any slot for a month and wondered if that was widespread
  20. "supermarkets deliver to your door" have you tried booking a slot lately Sue? Not easy...
  21. "and good DAY to you too sir!!"
  22. facebook/whatever you haven't plucked it out of the thin air
  23. "What does this mean exactly?" he reads these things on his facebook groups and thinks they are "a truth" It would be funny if it wasn't people like him getting us into further trouble - imagine looking at the current virus situation and thinking proceeding with brexit was a good idea Do we want or have time to negitiate any deals? No Will we need as much cash as possible to deal with this outbreak? Yes IS that best achieved by maintining trading with our closes and largest partner? Yes? WIll that penetrate minds of DF and co? No And thats ignoring the whole fallacy in his post about EU sovereign nations being able to control their borders Or how leaving the EU helps UK deal with this siutuation in any way "a good time" - sheesh
  24. If that?s your information, what?s your conclusion?
  25. How can someone say "Is that it? toys out of the pram methinks!! A true faceless keyboard warrior, do you shout at oaps and women as well?" in one breath and just a few minutes earlier say "You are one obnoxious, stuck up, condescending @#$%&"
