Foxy combining arrogance and ignorance ? Switzerland is a small but wealthy country, which is surprisingly not a member of the EU. Not a lot of people realise that? A lot of people do realise that. It also is a member of schengen and has physical infrastructure at its borders with the eu. So how do you square those issues with ?your? Brexit? Do you want free movement of people? And do you want physical infrastructure in Ireland?

  4. Leavers man No one is complaining about chlorinated chicken because it will mutate us It?s because the chlorine is required in USA because welfare standards for animals and workers are so bad. What you are saying is you don?t give a shit about either Although food poisoning rates are much higher over there too
  5. Country were told they could have a great, easy deal I?m willing to believe you couldn?t give a shit and just want no deal uncleglen. But don?t you dare suggest it?s what most of the country voted for because that is straight up bullshit and even you know that
  6. ?WTF are you doing posting on here? ? You can take the man out of east dulwich etc. Yours StraferJack/SeanMacGabhann Plus brother still lives in se22 so I?m up and about to keep an eye on ?things?
  7. Sure Lou Several posters say they have curry sauce in various northern towns, some talk about where to to get it dulwich but you just ignore them to focus on me Your yougov poll also lists some respectable numbers for curry sauce up north. But whatevs eh?? People migrate. People change I have no problem believing curry sauce is most popular in wales. None But waving that fact around to dismiss people who might want curry sauce in London is... well I don?t know what it is If people want something let them have it eh?
  8. ?Curry sauce is a welsh thing with chips, not northern, that?s gravy. Louisa.? Classic Louisa nonsense. Thrown out with customary over-confidence. Rebutted And ignored Why do you do it Lou?

  10. What I would say is - Bills tend to be pretty busy places. They know how to get people through the door. And that space seems very Bills-like so it wouldn't surprise me (although it isn't as high-street adjacent as they tend to go for)
  11. Yeah they did used to be nice enough when they were small in number. But as ever once the VCs come in with cheque books, bottom line is king. You can't roll out multiple dozens of a small idea and not lose something
  12. Bill's food is overpriced frozen rubbish anyway - it's a looong way from what the original in Lewes used to be like I live in Lewes and never go near the place

Because ?Brexit? is a mirage You can point to a narrow referendum victory from 3 and a half years ago but you can?t define what leaving means AND still command a majority for that definition. That?s why we haven?t left after all this time. It?s costly, leaves us with less power, open to bigger nations taking advantage, and could end the United Kingdom and return violence to NI Latest survation shows the changing picture - good thread here Keybtakeaway ? Key takeaways: 1️⃣ Remain would probably win in a 2nd ref 2️⃣ This is what public opinion looks like *without* any clear cues on this issue from the main opposition party! If Lab campaigns for Remain in a 2nd ref, public opinion should shift even further.?

Agreed with that But perhaps if politicians, papers and sections of the public weren?t screaming to leave the eu at any cost it would leave room for politicians to manoeuvre After more than 3 years it?s clear leaving can?t be done to the country?s satisfaction. obsessing over leaving in some shape or form is a weird pursuit at this point. Many leave voters wanted membership of single market for example. Mays deal wouldn?t give them that It?s really better for everyone if everyone just moves the conversation how to not leave

"nd saying it's Remain MPs fault " indeed - but equally many prominent leavers voted the WA down as well. It's because Brexit isn't real Not as it exists in leaver's heads anyway - leaving the EU is possible but any single version can't command a majority. Only the hand-wavy, drunk on it's own promises unicorn version can command a majority

"Map me out how we get back in without now exiting (an outcome that you and I both agree is by far the best), I just can't see it politically." It not being politically possible isn't the same as it being easy/hard. The lack of the political possibility is a strange outcome of this strange countries view of itself, the unwillingness of politicians or media to tell hard truths to the electorate. But we don't have to get back in because we haven't left - and not leaving is easy IF we had someone willing to step up. An election is coming - and someone is going to have revoke/ref2 in the manifesto. I think that is what will end this politically. All it takes is senior people to step up and stop pretending there is some benign brexit But I accept it's entirely possible the whole country is too afraid/polite to countenance such a thing

"I also think you're very optimistic on the 'enough people' looking at the polls and voting intentions. I think we're pretty much where we were." obviously we disagree on this - but that doesn't diminish the importance of measuring

"their rejection of May's deal is why we are where we are." But that rejection is simply a refelection of how ill-defined "Brexit" is You might think that May's deal is some kind of compromise that would be a foundation for a way forward - but it would have been a house built on sand Complaining about a no deal AND about the state of May's deal are in no way incompatible positions - both were and are awful ideas. There are other ways forward but noone wants to grasp that nettle

quite so Alan At this point there is some weird groupthink in play, where even previously sensible people are convincing themselves that No deal won't be too bad In years to come, this country will be a case study on psychology courses

(and if they don't know it by now, if they decide to push ahead, at least it will have legitimacy the current situation doesn't have. It will still be brutally stupid and wrong, but I will shut up about it. All doubt will have been removed)

"We should have taken the deal then," it was a very bad deal (all brexit deals are) and would have led to all manner of problems Checking with the country to see if they have changed their mind is the only grown up thing to do - staying in is by some distance the best deal and I think enough people know that now

"I joined the Labour Party precisely because Corbyn was bringing it back to its core principles! Who do you think will "appeal to Labour's true heartland"? " My hope is that Labour at least makes itself electable again in my lifetime - 4 years of Corbyn has taken it backwards When Labour was winning elections (comfortably) it was convincing many people across the country who often vote Tory or LibDem to vote for them. Some people think that's an unworthy goal. But appealing only to people who subscribe to Corbyn/Milne and co will see Labour stuck in opposition for foreseeable future, and the Tories, no matter how dreadful, have a free pass Being pleased that the current leader is true to "core principles" seems like a privileged indulgence to me But I do have to accept that times are fractious and polls unreliable - so there is a chance he MIGHT win an election. But then we are stuck with a not very bright or capable man running the country in the aftermath of Brexit - and THAT will see Labour out of power for generations- So that's me ragging on the Labour party in it's current state - but I am a Labour supporter - just one of the ones that Corbyn supporters like to dismiss as centrist and mock as "sensibles"

" he is an unelected bureaucrat wielding unaccountable power over the British nation" exactly but people like FOXY don't CARE about that really - even when they say they do It's all about seeing the EU as the enemy (even as they say "our friends and neighbours")
