A ridiculous thing to say. If you drive with due care and attention and at a sensible speed, respecting other road users, particularly cyclists, who are the most vulnerable road users, then you'd have as much control over your 2 ton van as is necessary to avoid any collisions etc
  2. Well done, Ted Max. Here's a score. Go getcherself somefink nice, alright, treacle?

Keep the ?10. If you've sold the item in good faith and listed it honestly, it's the buyers responsibility to research elsewhere and know the market value of what they are buying. Not your problem.
  4. The Met Police have a database of school uniforms. Have you reported this as a crime?
  5. James Barber sorted out our recycling issue the day I moaned about it on here. He's also in the process of sorting out another unrelated issue we've got. Any emails sent have been responded to the same day. No complaints from me. Thanks, James. Keep up the good work.

No interest other than being a 'qualified' practicioner? IMO: it's a sham. Snake Oil peddlers etc and the NHS should have no business wasting money on it.

The young attractive women in my office are very good at filing (paperwork and their nails!) making the tea and talking about celebrity gossip mags. Perhaps these should be rounds in the pageant, with bonus points awarded if undertaken whilst wearing a bikini.
  8. Condor...very nice indeed. Tempted much? I also ride a Specialized but it's a Hardrock mtb. Let me know how you get on and which route you decide on. Good luck - you'll be semi pro in no time!
  9. In that case Boneyard might be able to help you. I kept meaning to join them but could never make the dates they'd arranged. What bike is it - road/mountain? And what level/ type of riding would you be doing?
  10. I think Boneyard (poster on here) did some trips down to the north downs with other riders...hang on, do you mean motorbike?

The boss tends not to employ boys. He prefers 'a decent bit of eye candy' (his words). It costs a lot in agency fees, high turnover etc and training them can be tiresome but it 'brightens up the office and is something to look at' (also his words).
  12. At work we tend towards 'Doris' for the office juniors. They understand it's in good humour and not meant in a derogatory way. I call my other half 'treacle' at home. She seems to like this but is not as keen on the accompanying slap on her arse.

  14. You must have lots of hot nubile young friends, Lisby? They don't have to come from ED, as long as they have a tenuous link to the place.

  16. Presumably he doesn't want to be bothered by a hack from some half-arsed sleb gossip mag. Maybe he enjoys his annonymity. And no, it wasn't me.
  17. Loss of freedom of speech? Sounds like something the ED forum mods would be responsible for [/sarcasm].

And by default as the first person to respond, I am also a judge. Do we get free Guinness for our efforts?
  19. Great idea. Then the winner could go on to challenge Misses Pecknarm, Nunhead and Camberwell Etc for the title of Miss South East London and so on and so on. Could be held in The Castle, they have a spacious stage area or the upstairs room is for hire.
  20. Surely is the ONLY lamb curry one should be cooking...and it comes with a catchy song (6)
  21. Wow. What are the chances of that?! Local Internet Forum literally foils burglars. Amazing effort, all of you. Looks like my cynicsm was completely misplaced. Well done to all involved. Gold stars all round. I reckon the South London Press would love this story.

Hopefully they won't scoop out so much that there's nothing left to half inch. 1) Description of the culprits plz. Number of/ethicity/clothing/make and model of car/blood type. 2) Have you told the local rozzers?
  23. If only Alleyns could lay on some sort of private coach service for their pupils. That would soon put a stop to street crime! Oh, hang on...
  24. Maybe caused by the drunk 'losing' their car keys in a fruit bowl?

I've just tried it and found it to be really poorly designed and not at all user friendly. Too much re-keying of the same answer and a some questions were incomplete to the point of being meaningless. I gave up on the third page. If the council want to get some meaningful data from respondents, they should put a bit more effort into testing the survey before it is published. (also sent by PM)
