Hi Defender I have been on the bus with him once (from Forest Hill to East Dulwich) and in that short distance there were raised voices twice because of his attitude. So my questions is: does "Nigel" realise that he comes across as unfriendly and causes his passengers/customers to become angry and annoyed and therefore there is resentment towards him? oh dear, are you really comparing this forum with Crimestoppers? This is a friendly discussion website whereas the other's aim is to help catch criminals, oh hang on, you compared the forum to a police state earlier so maybe you are expecting a bit too much from it.

"Emergency services, which service do you require?" "police" "transferring you" "Hello police, can I help you?" "Quick, there's someone on the 185 with a Freedom Pass and they're threatening to use it against Nigel" click

How much should you pay to be chatted up?

I guess as you're recommending the clipper it should have probably gone in the recommendation section of the forum. And you have to admit your original post does sound rather marketing speak... Still looking for a decent barber? Not happy with your coiffure? Badly cut locks getting you down? Look no further because I've found the answer! Anyway I reckon a lot more people know about the clipper now than they did before. Personally I get Mrs Mark to cut my hair and coincidentally she does use my preferred weapon of choice the clipper(s)

Let me guess kanga, you wear a suit? In fact, are you a suit? And he said he liked it because "There are not too many suits", not because "There are not any suits" there's subtle difference. And having a go at someone (who you have to admit is pretty good and successful even without a suit) because of their name is rather stupid. I'm going out on a limb here, are you an estate agent?

Cheers BBW. That reminds me, it's the forum's third birthday in September, we didn't have a celebration party last year so we should really have one this time round.
-
It was I who registered the claphamforum.co.uk, primrosehillforum.co.uk etc domain but like it says on that page I realised I don't have time to set them up and run them so am offering them to other people, hopefully you agree that it's fair as I'm not a cyber squatter. The guy who set up the se22.com forum was a right cheeky bugger, set his forum up a year after this one and then tried a few underhand methods to promote his forum and demote this one. He's not on my Christmas card list any more I can tell you.

Congratulations Keef, and by pure coincidence the number of registered users on the forum is currently exactly 10,000.

SMBJones Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > PAYG will be available from the ticket machines at the rail stations Hello Have you any more news on when Oyster pay as you go be available at East Dulwich? It was going to be this September and then delays mean it's now 2010, do you have any more specifics you can share with us? Thanks

See daizie, you thought it was a negative post about Tony but it has in fact cheered him up. I believe it's called a win-win situation.
-
I've read through some of his posts, if they seem coherent and normal a quick Google search shows that he's copied it from somewhere and tried on pass it off as his own. Tony didn't like the fact that I pointed it out a couple of times, and then he made out that I'd committed the crime. [edited once]

I've seen this driver do exactly that however I would say that the call back, take card, examine card, give back card (no smile or thank you) takes about 10 seconds, so with the two old dears in front of me that was, in my opinion, simply a waste of time. On that 10 minute journey from Forest Hill to Goose Green he also had two passengers argue with him. He doesn't come across as a nice chap.

Nice facts there Taper, I see Kings has a better score that Queens in Sidcup, perhaps Tony (and his friends' mums) should move back here?
-
Can I have a go... Would I be correct to say, TLS is implying that if those non-English speaking people were not in the hospital then his friend's mum would have been seen quicker, therefore it would be better if there were no non-English speaking people in hospitals getting in the way of English speaking people. ? Do his multitude of ethnically diverse friends' mums speak English? Did this friend's mum speak English? Has he offered a solution to this problem?

I had an English plumber on my property who was obnoxious, mouthy, shoddy and charged over the odds. I have also had a Polish builder who did some plumbing work (partly to mend the shoddy English job) who was brilliant; came in, did the work and left me feeling pleased with his work. ps I know it's only anecdotal and a sweeping generalisation of the English vs Polish plumbers debate but for some that counts as evidence because it's not theory. I've also had excellent British plasterers/decorators/electricians etc, well I think they were British because they spoke English and were white.

Great news, I wonder if Horsebox had success in the Pentanque competition too (http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,30251)?

Sorry, it's like playing a one arm bandit where you think one more go might just be the winning one and logic, reason and understanding will come tumbling out. It never does, so thanks Mockney for helping me to quit this pointless habit.

Tony.London Suburbs Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > to me that makes the whole Subject up for Debate with no time limits set by SteveT. Bloody Normans, coming over here and taking over our country. There have been a lot changes for the better in 40 years, from human rights to medicines. Having a dislike for immigrants now because of the "harm" that other immigrants did 40 years ago is where our opinions will have to differ.
-
I thought we were discussing the report that covers the last 5 years? Why bring in thoughts from 40 years ago?
-
Perhaps this issue is now being addressed which is why there are so few "queue jumpers" in the last 5 years. [edited once] for bad grammar
-
"The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) report said less than 2 percent of all social housing residents were migrants who had moved to Britain in the last five years. Instead, nine out of 10 of all those who lived in social housing were born in Britain." and "Last month, Prime Minister Gordon Brown promised to overhaul the system to "give more priority to local people," addressing public fears that migrants were getting unfair treatment. "(http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE5661JW20090707) So the immigrants are not jumping the housing queue but the Prime Minister is going to do something about it anyway to manage the perceptions of those who think they are jumping the queue. What's the problem?

In iTunes hold down the shift button and click on File > Show exact duplicates. You then have to go through and delete every other one, not the easiest thing to do but it works.
