  2. I thought about that but Ipod is 80gb and music/videos etc is 160gb
  3. (Sorry this isn't witty or anything but hopefully it's just useful) After spending hours faffing around and fruitlessly looking up on the net how to move itunes to a new computer (when the music is on an external hard drive), someone told me how to do it at the weekend and it worked. Hopefully it'll save someone else lots of time and anguish and swearing at your effing computer. 1) Locate and copy iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml from your old machine to somewhere on your new machine 2) Hold down the shift key and open iTunes on the new machine, it'll ask you what library to use and point it to the iTunes Library.itl you just put on the new machine 3) When iTunes loads, double click a song, it'll say can't be found, so browse for it. That resets the library to look in the the new location.
  4. The reason I'm out is that the other side of the discussion misquotes, injects nonsense and irrelevance into the proceedings frequently and seems to not understand the logical process of debate/question and answer. It has nothing to do with the subject, the subject is great to discuss, it just feels like trying to play tennis against a juvenile monkey, you can't get a proper rally going because they keep trying to stick the ball up their bum.
  5. I though I would dip my toe in here and get a decent discussion but no, and so sorry ... I'm out.

He would be happy that there is a mixture of different "types" of people because he was killed fighting the bad guys who killed people because their beliefs, races and cultures. I don't think he would really give a shit what colour people were. He was fighting the enemy, he was not fighting to preserve the "whiteness" of Britain's saying that he was is just fucking stupid. Then there's my other Grandad and his family who were thrown out of the Ukraine and eventually moved to England as displaced persons. As an immigrant he is very grateful to people like my other grandad who helped the world stay a great and free place, especially England where my family has worked and lived without the fear of being outcast because they weren't "white brits". Saying white brits are becoming extinct just shows a narrow minded ignorance. What is a white brit? Am I a white brit? I'm British and I am white but I'm not going to start fighting for a corner of this country to preserve people who look like me. That's fucking stupid too.
  8. You'll love it here, we have Barry Road which was named after the station manager Barry Jones. Every year in celebration of his sainthood people raise a toast to him then run all the way down the road and raise another toast to him at the finish line.
  9. They might be the same police I saw by the train station earlier, perhaps something is going on...
  10. ahh yes ianr good point, I should have said their target criminal (suspected or not) would (most probably) not be behind the wrong door. [edited once] for bad inglish

  12. ahh yes anna good point, or they have may have kicked in the wrong door in which case there would be no criminal in there (suspected or not).
  13. try calling the Safer Neighbourhood Team on 020 8721 2447 or 07920 233912
  14. I expect they were trying to get in. And I expect there may have been a criminal in there they were trying to get to.

  16. Unfortunately I can't make it tomorrow but can you make sure it's well documented, before, during, after and of course not forgetting the presentation. Perhaps Mockney could run alongside the competitors and capture some action shots?
  17. I don't mind chairing a discussion/debate, upstairs at the Mag perhaps?
  18. Three of us were in the Palmerston once and I ordered a medium rare steak (it was the special ?19 steak I don't think they do it anymore). It arrived, I cut into it and before I could say anything the chef (who was passing behind me), noted that it wasn't quite medium rare, and asked if he could take it back. My friend's steak was slightly overdone too so all our plates were taken, including Mrs M's halibut and we were delivered three perfectly cooked new meals shortly after. We weren't charged for the steaks which made me realise that they're in it for the food and not the money. That evening we left feeling that we had had great food and great service, that's one reason I like the Palmerston and recommend it. And they do Timothy Taylor on tap, that's another. It needs someone to run it. Any takers?
  20. and the irritating people tend not to go to the monthly drinks, so you're fine there. I've always liked the Palmerston, the service and its food, in fact it's my favourite of the "nicer places to eat round here" but I haven't been for a few months, so I guess I'll have to try it again soon and see what the fuss is about.
