  1. http://www.saveourbees.org.uk/ I agree with the consensus about wasps, pointless and irritating, midges too.
  2. Surely it would have been 5x4 inch film format (I don't think there is a 5x4 cm film format) [edited once]
  3. I have a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM which you can borrow if you want to try another lens before buying one. I find it great for portraits, it's equivalent to an 35mm camera's 80mm lens on my 400D. I need it this weekend but drop me a PM if you want to try it after.
  4. My mum said that a woman at her bridge club thinks Hear the Echo is worth a bet and I just asked my friend Jenny for a number between 1 and 40, she said 26. Therefore my tips for today are: http://form.williamhill.com/iibs/silks//113523.gif 9 Hear the Echo 18/1 http://form.williamhill.com/iibs/silks//11383.gif 26 Fleet Street 125/1

  9. I'm with Louisa on this too (not the ghosts, climate changes etc etc) the daffs are for everyone to appreciate, we all understand they're simple pleasure and it's a shame that that pleasure is reduced because of a selfish few.
  10. An 18-year-old has secretly painted a 60ft drawing of a phallus on the roof of his parents' ?1million mansion in Berkshire. It was there for a year before his parents found out. They say he'll have to scrub it off when he gets back from travelling. http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/newsbeat/newsid_7961000/7961224.stm

    Hello

I think you'll find Bounty was banned by Admin last week for being a spammer: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,240715,240809#msg-240809

  13. Economic Left/Right: -3.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.62 Slightly libertarian left for me, very close to Gandhi in fact. http://www.politicalcompass.org/facebook/pcgraphpng.php?ec=-3.38&soc=-2.62 [edited once]
  14. I don't think it'll be rammed, plus there's plenty of room to stand round the edge of the pitch if you want to be closer to the "action".
  15. 7:45 kick off, watch the game then get down the EDT for 9:30. They serve Guinness in the bar at the stadium, I think.
  16. I'll be there, not sure where we'll be standing/sitting just to make it even harder for you to guess.

  18. It's free admission to watch Dulwich Hamlets vs Walton Casuals tomorrow evening (Tuesday). 7.45 kick off at Champion Hill Stadium (on the left of Sainsburys). http://www.dulwichhamletfc.co.uk/
  19. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Should we disregard hypnotherapy too? Same ideas of suggestion... Hypnotherapy's different. You make people believe something, a false memory if you will, so that they feel different at the next experience that they are seeking therapy about. An example: If someone feels nervous speaking in public a typical induction and session would involve them imagining themselves speaking in front of people and feeling confident. The next time they do it for real they remember the false memory and should feel better. You can't hypnotise someone who can't be hypnotised, they have to be open to suggestion. Hypnotherapy works on the mind and the way people think, not on purchasing a small bottle of remedy water. [edited once]
  20. On reading the Lancet (after it was suggested in a previous thread) the latest paper on Homeopathy asked "Are the clinical effects of homoeopathy placebo effects? Survey said... "This finding is compatible with the notion that the clinical effects of homoeopathy are placebo effects." http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(05)67177-2/abstract I also notice that the FAQ and answers given earlier were from this site written by a a classical homoeopath so some may say he is biased towards homeopathy. Are there any unbiased references that state that homeopathy effect works any more than a placebo effect?
  21. Blimey, I came up 95% Liberal and 5% Labour.
  22. I agree with quids that you should be able to question such things and debate them, however it does gets annoying when a debate gets ruined by someone morris dancing around the debating chamber shouting nonsense. Anyway, currently I think would vote for Labour however only just, if Cameron had more balls and had less of a "slimey politician saying things so that people like me" air about him I think he would appeal to me more as a leader of the country. When the time comes I'll have a look at the policies of both parties and make a judgement. As the ruling party the Lib Dems don't even get a look in I'm afraid however at a local level I think they work well because they don't have to think nationally. [edited once]
  23. Thanks everyone for the very good answers, I've a lot to read up on. On the same note, BBC2 Darwin's Dangerous Idea presented by Andrew Marr http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00j6r1b is on TV now, I saw it last week and it covers some of this.
  24. May I add that between the ages of 20 - 30 the generations of family B studied and worked.
