  1. That shows a Google results page showing a couple of blogs at the top saying "Why I hate cyclists". Is it meant to show that the general British public doesn't like cyclists? Benefits of cycling shows some good results too.
  2. Blinder999, I believe it's the mob just doesn't like cyclists on pavements, not cyclists as a whole.
  3. After PayPal fees ?806.66 has been raised so far. The server + installation costs 1274.75 incl VAT per year Some of this shortfall will come from sponsorship but there is always time for people to donate, in fact I think I will probably have a "Donate" link at the bottom of the page. Thanks again to everyone who donated, it really is appreciated.
  4. The Mediterranean grocers, real name East Dulwich Supermarket aka "Mateys", sells lots of things that the deli does but at a better price e.g. olive oils, lots of different types of rice and pasta, obscure herbs, spices and sauces, turkish delight etc. I've noticed that when the Deli has a pancetta display so does Mateys but his are half the price. They sell things that you would buy in a super market abroad such as a packet of risotto rice where as over the road you'll probably find Authentic Hand Picked Italian Rissottorini rice in a cloth bag with hemp stitching and a bow, similar contents, different price. I wouldn't say there was a clear line between them (Lordship Lane excluded) but there is an overlap.
  5. Hi Reuben You kept posting about what the Magnolia was offering in the General Issues and gossip section, so they were moved into the Offered section. Just because you do remarkable lovely meals in the Magnolia doesn't mean you can post wherever you want.
  6. Yep, you're right. I'm going to see if I can change it.
  7. effing right I could see you there
  8. They're back. It obviously didn't count whilst it was turned off so the figures aren't quite true.
  9. I'm going to come along tonight if that's ok, I'll see you at Tandoori Nights at 8:30
  10. Blimey, that was something we don't want to go through again, at least the Administrator got some time off to tend to his/her rose garden. We're really sorry about that disruption and hopefully normal service has been resumed and hopefully the site's faster than before. Thank you to everyone who donated, it's meant that the forum has been put back up quicker than we could have done on our own and the server mechanics have set it up so that it's stable (touch wood). There is still a donations button here because we are putting money into the server fund pot so that we can quickly deal with any issues again without panicking. Now go off and enjoy yourself and talk about curries and trains and fences and gigs and shops and things.
  11. We were going to go there on Saturday night for food but they were closed for a private party so we ended up going to The Nun's Head round the corner. Had a lovely time with great pub grub, go there instead of the Duke.
  12. well at least our verb "Lounged" comes at to top of the Google hit parade http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=100&hl=en&newwindow=1&rlz=1B3GGGL_enGB261GB261&q=lounged&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountryUK
  13. If more people rode motorbikes instead of cars in London then there would be less congestion. 4 people each in a car use up enough space for about 12 - 18 people on motorbikes (my own figures). People should be encouraged to use motorbikes (as well as walking, bicycles and public transport) and use their cars less. Introducing a parking charge for motorbikes doesn't encourage their use. ps This is not a motorbike vs public transport argument.
  14. but this is about East Dulwich, why would you like to have an SE23 section? ;-) I believe people prefer associating their area with a name such as East Dulwich rather then a code like SE22/SE15 borders. It's nicer to relate to a name, "Where did you grow up?" "Well I was born in RH12, lived in HS1 for a bit them settled in BA14", doesn't quite seem as personal.

    Ask Admin

Karter, you should ask you lady friend to reply to lozzyloz's message (hit the reply button) and lozzyloz can see who it comes from, Admin & co can track it and may help them them get to the bottom of this.
  16. Not part of the council but Goose Green is my friend.
  17. A series of flag the poo activities will be taking place over the next 6 months at least as part of the monitoring linked to the fence removal trial period, organised by the Parks people at the council.

    Old friends...

Well spotted, question is... which two will replace them? Any preferences ed_pete?
  21. You could always try The Stationer next to the EDT. Get in, do what you need to and get out. Good luck and report back afterwards.
  22. When they ask people's opinion after the 6 months that the fence has been removed, we tell them the suggestion and hope that lots of other people agree.
  23. Song Game thread for me (I had to look up "labour of Sisyphus" and you're right Ted Max)
  24. Why not put a fence* straight across the Green (alongside the other path) so the dogs can run in the area at the roundabout end? Then there would be a larger dog free area that would be split by just a path and not a fence. *a nice fence, similar to the one running round the edge.
