  1. So far we meet friends, drink tea, eat cake and walk round Dulwich Park!! Am thinking I should be taking her to more structured baby groups, are there any that are particularly good / recommended? Thanks Clare
  2. Thanks Fuschia, that makes sense :-) Hadn't thought of people moving house.... Must say, the schools situation sounds horrendous!! I am really close to Heber (can see it out the window!) and down the road from Goodrich, sounds as though getting a place at one of the two closest schools is a gamble if this problem continues! How early do you need to apply for the nurseries (even given the unlikelihood of getting a place!)?
  3. Not sure if this is something you can help with but there seems to be an increasing amount of traffic driving in Dulwich Park. I realise there is a certain amount of necessary traffic (park wardens, police, deliveries and access for disabled drivers), however, there seems to an increasing number of vehicles driving around seemingly for pleasure and having no obvious need. I think vehicles should be kept to a bare minimum and limited as far as possible (is groups mentioned above), What is the policy for this?
  4. Princess Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sounds good to me. I don't think Heber Road (or > my wall) can possibly take any more cars, parents > and kids at drop off and pick up times. I have yet to experience the school stress issue, my daughter is only 3 months. From what I have read on here the catchment area for the most popular schools is tiny, 500 m max..... If this is the case why the need for cars to drop off/pick up? I suppose it may be child minder's and parents en route to work ..... Not intending to make a stand, just interested if there really are a large proportion of children driven to school?
  5. Supply is awful! It runs out of basics and has empty shelves! Somerfield was the same though....
  6. They were Tuesdays and Thursdays. There was definitely a 7pm one (Thursday I think). Give them a call and ask..... I popped in and asked when I was in Kings for a scan anyway.
  7. My partner won't eat mushrooms, peppers or tomato's !??
  8. I have asthma and suffer with sensitive skin, never formally diagnosed as eczema but steroid cream often prescribed! I got sick of treating rather than curing and not only had a skin prick test but also saw a dermatologist and had further skin tests on my back. Definitely recommend this, I was prescribed diprobase cream, avoid any perfumed toiletries and soaps etc since then I have rarely needed to use hydrocotisone. The dermatologist was really helpful advising which products to use / not use. My daughter is 3 months and suffered with dry eyebrows, olive oil did nothing, I couldn't get a dr appointment for her until the following week, having checked with a GP friend first, I put diprobase cream on her, completely cleared it up in two days! Great stuff and not harmful!
  9. I used to live in a house overlooking that park, ran round it twice every morning..... Have no recollection of seeing a toilet there. There is a pub near the exit by the roundabout.
  10. I've had the same problem, forms insist on counties so you end up with London London! I suppose could write Southwark....
  11. Useful to know, thank you :-)
  12. Not really a restauant that fits your wants anyway but FYI the Plough has a no children after 7pm rule (even sleeping babies!). We used to go there fairly often to eat, and in the daytime it is child friendly, they are just not welcome in the evening.
  13. I've been to locale quite a few times with my baby, she is nearly three months. They are really helpful and always sort out a table with pram space (I let them know in advance when booking). Def recommend :-)
  14. I had a C section nearly 3 months ago and have no pain at all........... I even did a week's skiing last week and didn't feel it at all! Def see your Dr I do remember it hurt pushing a pram uphill in the first few weeks but even that stopped by around 6 weeks.
  15. Third party fire and theft cover a cheaper option, presuming the quote was fully comp.

  17. Real fare dodgers provide a fake name and address;-)
  18. Ouch! I know exactly how you feel! I got this two weeks after my daughter was born - Ive yet to meet someone who hasn't had sore nipples at some stage when breastfeeding! I found that the breast pads made it worse, constant damp environment! I stopped using them at home, used shells when at home (prevents bra / clothes rubbing) and applied breast milk and lansinol(?) Cleared up pretty quickly!
  19. Hi all, does anyone have any suggestions as to a good pramfor running with? I want to start running again soon but my pram specifically states it shouldn't be used for this purpose. Thank you
  20. I had a C section so had the hands on approach too! Have had no problems at all.......however, I know some people would really find this offensive.
  21. My daughter is only 9 weeks old, I am amazed at the guilt I feel for no real reason! I also didn't realise that as soon as there is anything wrong with her I always blame myself... has parenting always been like this?
  22. Thanks Linzkg, Will keep trying........... We tried this evening before her bedtime but still no luck.
  23. Hiya, I did the ED NCT Classes. Would definitely recommend them, the content was really useful plus made friends with other mums - we are all on maternity leave and meet up weekly. I joined mainly for the social aspect however was really glad I did the classes from a content point of view once I went along! Tess the local ED teacher is lovely. Not sure why no classes came up locally, seems odd as there is a teacher in ED and Nunhead!
  24. Hi all, wonder if anyone else has had this problem... My daughter had her 8 week jabs last Wed, she was quite grouchy for 3 days afterwards and refused a bottle of expressed milk wanting me instead. I assumed she was feeling under the weather and preferred the comfort factor of BF, I subsequently fed her myself instead. She has been back to herself since Sunday but still refuses a bottle...... We introduced her to bottles at 3 weeks old and although she has always preferred me to a bottle she has never until now refused a bottle - has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas how to solve? Thanks Clare
  25. Ordinary Cocoa butter is good - supposed to be good to prevent stretch marks too although I used Bio Oil for that.
