Not sure I'm that Scottish anymore though, I feel like an orphan at times. Neither here, nor there.
  2. 'Awesome' causes me irrational rage too. (also 'parenting'). argh. PS the sweetie has now gone, thank fuck.
  3. Huguenot Heritage Centre - wow! (irrational ragers eat your heart out!)
  4. Because I've already tried one & didn't like it. Would feel guilty sneakily binning it as my colleague brought them back from holiday. I am so tempted though! I can't believe that the fact it's still there isn't bugging the hell out of anyone else....! I appreciate that makes me sound irrational & a bit weird :)
  5. The solitary sweetie left in the box on the kitchen table at work. It's been there for over a week. I wish to fuck that someone would eat it!
  6. Really? I wouldn't have started another thread about it. I'd have taken on board what the Administrator said with good grace. They're the one paying for the site/putting the time & effort in to run it after all.
  7. How annoying! I think it sounds like your neighbour is not using the badge for the purpose it was intended e.g. its not for 'reserving' a space for his son whilst he parks elsewhere. Def sounds like misuse of the disabled parking badge on his part. If he regularly parks elsewhere then he has no need of the damn badge. Can you have a word with him about it face to face, doesn't need to be confrontational - just say what you have said here, that you have noticed he is not using it and that by parking elsewhere e.g. not in the bay, that this has an impact on the rest of the street. Knock on effect is that there is less space for others, if he used the bay that would free up some room etc. I wouldn't park in the disabled bay.
  8. I liked the Patrick Stewart one too and now I've been nominated (arghhhh) think I will do the same. Some of the videos are funny and most I have seen have explicitly mentioned the charity/cause first, urging people to donate. I see similarity between this and the no-make up selfie, yes its sad that charities should have to go to great lengths or gimmicks to encourage donation but I think its simply making best use of the *sheep-like mentality of human nature (which is ideal for spreading the word far and wide on social media). Didn't like the one with the wee toddler swearing although I know a lot of people found it hilarious. *not sure this is the right word I'm looking for but I can't think at the moment.
  9. oh my good god. another cycling thread! I thought this was gonna be bout books.

  12. I challenge anyone to find better salt & chilli tofu than that from Yee Wah. Even the most hardened carnivore would find it difficult to resist. Sad news if they've shut up shop for good.
  13. Er...what are the 'other delights'? Will my Ted Max frittata count as a one-pan wonder?
  14. whenever I wear red lipstick, I am often likened to Robert Smith.

  21. Shopping at Waitrose now are you Loz?
  22. Yes I hear that Streetcar is really really good. If only I had a ticket...
  23. Yes poor Scotland so oppressed by England er I mean Westminster cough cough... Despite the fact that health, education, legal system are quite different already and have always been as far as I can remember (& I'm an old git), what the hell sideshow is Holyrood with this bunch of second-rate politicians. Don't especially like Labour but Darling showed Salmond up for the small minded parochial sneering little man that he is. I can't abide him and his divisive claptrap.
  24. Loved Keith Floyd.
  25. Sad news !
