  1. Malumbu I found this online just now https://www.taxi-point.co.uk/post/transport-for-london-file-appeal-against-unlawful-streetspace-scheme-ruling-won-by-taxi-groups Which is a possible source of information Some of the text from the article reads "According to a taxi driver representative group, United Trade Action Group (UTAG), the capital?s transport authority has appealed against the High Court decision. In a tweet released this morning, Wednesday 10 February, UTAG said: ?TfL have appealed and we now await a decision from the Appeals Court to see if permission is granted."

Just to play devil's advocate for a moment I guess if you want to question logic , it's just as baffling why so many who wanted to remain part of a bigger whole, are supporting the idea of the UK splitting up. Both your comment and the above seem to put people at odds with their views in the EU referendum. There's nothing as queer as folk when it comes to politics

  16. Amazon are calling again If my calculations are correct, in the past 12 months my renewals have cost me ?1,264 Thank the stars I don't have an Amazon account so I just ignore the calls
  17. I'm curious Northern The report was created using the website the council asked people to leave their comments on. If the data showed a massive level of support for the scheme (with 1,100 comments) would you be touting it as proof that the scheme should stay or be extended ?
  18. Rockets, you are right in all you say but I can bet that as people have to register for the zoom call, either pro people will be picked or some other way of silencing the anti participants will be found (pre registered questions only will be one thought) The council have an agenda (after all they have a "Deputy Cabinet Member for Low Traffic Southwark" and that role needs something to do) so don't expect this to be a simple opportunity to object to the councils vision as they are only allowing 35 minutes for residents comments and questions...

Will there be fireworks ? Nothing gets the forum curtain twitches going more than fireworks New Years Eve (brexit fireworks) New Years day (brexit fireworks) February 12th (Chinese takeaway brexit fireworks) July 4th (American brexit fireworks) Nov 5th (guy blowing up Boris for brexit fireworks) Diwali (Indian brexit fireworks) Might as well go for broke and have the cats brexit BBQ fireworks 😱

Try moving to > most other parts of the country, then you will > realise how good and how cheap it is here. That's the issue Malumbu, we don't live in the country, we live in a metropolitan area where commuting or travelling is part of our lives Unless there are viable , frequent and reliable public transport alternatives to get around then people will use cars as cycling and walking doesn't offer a sensible alternative to journeys over a few miles or with heavy packages. Equally think about the elderly, disabled or those with other mobility based issues Changes need to work with the population of an area, not against it otherwise they will experience heavy resistance. The council encouraged us to respond on a website yet when the majority state they are against the schemes, questions are raised over who exactly responded. Care to bet that if it showed support, there would be no questions and councillors crowing about the success of the schemes. The problem here is a lack of consultation and monitoring prior to implementation and deaf ears in the council after.
  21. And with the ULEZ fast approaching and the drive to electric cars, there's change a plenty coming.

JohnL Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Here BBC has it - questioner was Ian Paisley > > https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-559 > 17414 He said the government would act "legislatively" or by invoking an emergency mechanism known as Article 16 to override part of the protocol, if other solutions cannot be reached with the EU to remove GB-NI trade barriers. is the exact statement, so it's not that he will, but might if circumstances became serious enough to call for it.

  24. That's 'if' the Germans and French have enough alternative vaccines to offer to the over 65s , if they don't then it dies seem a folly of a policy.
  25. It's interesting to see that as well as Germany, France has decided not to give the Oxford vaccine to over 65s. Could you imagine if we said the same, the public outcry would be deafening as over 65s are high on the vulnerable list and have a higher mortality rate if they end up in hospital.
