So what's your solution DR ? If people don't take up the vaccine and the virus mutates as a result and thousands more die as the vaccine stops protecting us , will you still point your finger at the government for not doing enough or will you say that's the consequence of free choice as you cough and splutter ? It's not moving the goal posts it's having a discussion but you seem to think that the government doesn't do enough but if they do something then they are taking our liberties away. That's the real crux of your arguments, damned if they do damned if they don't For a change don't try and take people's legs away by mocking them because you disagree, but offer ideas and solutions. And as I asked at the beginning of the response (but will reword it), what would your solution be if you were PM ?

And DR proves Louisa's point perfectly with the image of tumble weed ! DR maybe try and engage with people rather then mocking when they don't agree with your views After all it's a forum for everyone not just those with the loudest voices. Reaching a middle ground involves talking, listening and compromise on both sides otherwise it becomes a place of toxicity.

Been reading Mein Kampf again DR? 😱 Whilst you painted a very stark picture like that, if they refuse the vaccine and deny covid exists then why are they allowed to waste valuable NHS resources if they do catch it ? After all , in their minds, it's not going to kill them or anything ? Sadly the truth is people will refuse the vaccine, the virus will be transmitted by them and as a result it will fund ways to mutate and infect the vaccinated resulting in this pandemic going on and on and on. So whilst you were trying to paint a dystopian future there is a question of how to make the vaccine deniers take it to protect the masses , should it be deny them covid treatment, should it be peer pressure (much like the campaigns in the past to make us wear seat belts or reduce drink driving ) The issue (and whilst I was being controversial with my post) is how to ensure everyone is protected and the virus can't get a foothold and mutate enough to make the vaccine invalid. Maybe something to discuss rather then trying to paint me and others as part of the new order 🤔

Ah I see So it's a rant Boris, as you remember, caught and went to hospital with covid so I think he hasn't denied it exists. He's made mistakes granted but so have governments around the world. This thread is about people denying that covid exists by protesting, trying to convince others to break rules and potentially refusing vaccination. If you want to be political please do it on one of the other political based threads.

What's this for to do with people denying the virus exists or are you just having a rant ? Stick on topic !

That's a case of education and reassurance but if they still refuse, unless for genuine medical reasons, then they should be deemed to have signed away the right to covid treatment It's similar to the principle (but not the same as) the organ donor register now uses, unless you have specifically said not to use your organ's after death they can be ..

Here's a controversial idea With a small proportion of the population saying they won't have the vaccine, should the NHS record their NHS number on a database and then refuse them treatment if they catch Covid ? After all they don't believe Covid exists or think it's a government conspiracy so they won't catch it so won't need treatment 🤔

What's wrong with the co-op staying and refitting ? I'm confused how a home bargains or similar will be a suitable replacement for an ongoing concern ?

Oh Sue I just now understood your secret code using MUFC Do you have a discreet side entrance for services like this, how much are you charging and as you are providing Man Under Female Control services do I get to wear a ball gag and you in PVC with a whip? Oh Ken thank you so much for opening up my eyes (and other things) to this underrated service being provided in East Dulwich , I assume you can recommend what I need to "ask for" to ensure total humiliation is achieved 😷

What ideas are there to support summer trade?
Spartacus replied to Jakido's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Good concept Jakido First, whatever happens it needs to compliment the traders, not take away their trade so whilst additional market days sounds good , think of the impact that may have on bricks and mortar traders. First thing in my opinion is Let the businesses open and trade But think about different times of the year, so if things are relaxed enough then Summer, but what if we can't relax till most people are vaccinated so it's autumn or winter Maybe a range of seasonal ideas is needed and the concept can roll with the seasons Years ago pretty tapas did evening pop ups in cafes that only opened in the day, great use of space that's not normally open in the evening and that sort of thing would be one suggestion Love the evening closure of side streets near pubs (I'm now thinking the square in Marrakesh as inspiration) -
There seems to be a few threads over on the main section that are talking about the Co-op on lordship lane in a negative way. Over zealous security guards Not taking card payment Is there some fundamental issue or is there some sort of campaign against it ?

Over zealous security guard at Coop food Lordship Lane
Spartacus replied to jazzer's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sue Whatever you do, don't shop at PC world / curry's They check everything on the way out. Seriously if there is an issue with the security arrangements and staff maybe a word / email to the store manager will get it sorted or an explanation. This forum is great for discussions but the coop manager may not read it. -
It's local elections outside of London in May (assuming they can go ahead) plus the London mayoral election. If local councils where an LTN have been implemented suffer defeats, I wonder if London councilors will sit up and take note lest they suffer the same. Equally if there is a change of London mayor ...
