  3. Yes it doesn't look like Tart is reopening. I'm surprised by As Nature intended as they are part of a chain owned by Planet Organic so not cash poor. I never used them anyway for that reason as I prefer to support my local independent shops.
  4. How on earth the government believe that people will self quarantine for 14 days when they return to the UK when they cant even get a grip on wearing a mask on public transporting shops or social distancing is beyond me. everyone will want to show off their suntans and hang out with their mates. many people in lower paid jobs are being told that they have to either take the quarantine as unpaid leave or holiday for those on zero hours contracts they will end up just going to work.

I cant believe you are not a troll and actually mean what you are actually posting here. Do me a favour a post a picture of yourself on here so I can personally go up to you if I see you in one of the shops I go to (or on the train for that matter) and scream as loudly as possible at you for putting others lives in danger by refusing to wear a mask. I am over 60 and I work in a shop..I work in a shop because if i didn't go to work I wouldn't be able to live. Read up on Covid..it is not only the over 60's or those with underlying health issues that die or become seriously ill with the virus. Also there is NO guarantee that if you had it you are now immune or indeed that any form of immunity lasts longer than 3 months. Plus virus's evolve you could be immune to one strain but not the other. Your attitude sucks...do you SERIOUSLY think any of us like wearing a mask? do you seriously think that shop workers such as myself enjoy wearing them for sometimes as long as 12 hours a day? NO..I wear a mask to protect my loved ones (one of whom has asthma the other very elderly), I wear a mask to protect other workers and commuters. I really cant believe you're not a troll but if you're not...I pity you. life must be very lonely with an attitude like yours.
  7. Its Killing the west end stores and restaurants and everyone who works in them is afraid for their jobs. not a great idea when people have just started to reopen and try to claw back some of their lost takings. No spenders in the west end after 7pm now just gangs of teenagers wandering about
  8. my PT told me 4th August but that staff will be manning the phones from monday im desprate to get back in the gym!

  10. My Feeling is (cynical some may say) That the reason the government are making mask wearing mandatory in shops is so that when (not IF, WHEN) we have the 2nd wave because of all the idiots congregating in groups going on their holidays to spain etc etc There won't be another lockdown. Businesses cannot survive another lockdown therefore they can continue trading during the 2nd wave with the argument that 'staff and customers are wearing masks.
  11. siousxiesue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I wonder if the system of ticket inspection can be > broadened to include spot checks for masks. I've actually spoken to BTP and TFL about this having seen large groups of people going through ticket barriers at the tube station not wearing masks and not being spoken to or refused entry. This was when a half a dozen BTP were stood nearby. I was told that they haven't actually been given any power to enforce the rule.

I had 2 lads on bikes cycling round and round me sniggering cycling off then returning again with one of them cycling alongside me whilst his friend cycled round in circles-This was in the mid afternoon in east dulwich on the pavement (well one was on pavement the other mainly cycled in the kerb) Thinking I was about to be robbed I hugged my bag to me and rushed to the nearest bus shelter where I could see people-It really shook me up. I never reported it because in my case nothing actually happened aside from their behaviour being designed to make me feel uneasy and threatened..probably for their own amusement (scare the old woman) But It ruined my day shook me up and has put me off going for the walks in the area that I used to enjoy so much

YOU may be young and fit and YOU may not be at risk of dying or becoming seriously ill. but how would YOU feel if as an asymptomatic carrier of the virus you passed it on to a single mother with underlying health issues and she died? how would YOU feel if someone fit and healthy and young like you carrying the virus whilst not wearing a mask passed it on to your grand parents or parents and one of them died or they passed it to your also young friend who due to his obesity ended up with organ failure in ICU? Its people with your attitude that are helping to spread this potentially killer disease. Dont be selfish-you could save lives.

I've signed the petition but I feel its a hopeless case-Mask wearing is mandatory on public transport but there are not enough BTP to police this. Likewise as we all know GOVT cuts have seen a fall in the old 'bobby's on the beat' community support officers etc. Private security working for shops and stores won't want to put themselves in danger by confronting those not wearing masks (and likewise if my husband or family member worked as a security guard I would be very unhappy at their employer expecting them to confront non-mask wearers) I am a 60 year old woman of slight build I look my age but when I told a man on the underground to put his mask back over his nose and mouth after he got on train sat opposite me and immediately dropped it to below his chin he became extremely abusive, and flatly refused calling me a 'crazy f-ing bitch' and glaring at me with fists clenched ...I moved carriages at the next stop because I didn't feel safe-nobody defended me, nobody backed me up-and the man in question was a suit wearing estate agent type not some angsty youth.

Being a shop assistant I totally agree that shoppers should wear masks-I wear a mask at work through choice mainly to protect me from the shoppers who tend to be much more oblivious to personal space and the 2m rule than my colleagues and myself. I use the tube and overground daily and I find it shocking how many people dont wear masks and just get let through the barriers at the station walking past the staff whilst not wearing a mask and not being cautioned in any way. ditto people that get on the train and then remove their masks or wear them with thier nose uncovered. I find it actually upsetting that the ignorance of a few could ultimately lead to someone becoming seriously ill or dying.

They need to issue badges like the 'please offer me a seat ' ones to be honest I'm suprised they didn't have them ready for the 15th june-they knew facecovings on public transport were sure to become mandatory but there seems to have been little joined up thinking
  18. I haven't travelled on a bus but use overground and tube daily so I can only speak from experience of seeing busses go past-I think at that time you'll be fine. I leave home at 9am and the busses look far from packed and you will be travelling at a quieter time. certainly the 185 and 176 would be the ones I'd opt for as they travel an almost identical route from FH to Camberwell green and therefore will probably be emptier for your leg of the journey. Good luck on your appointment And I understand how nerve wracking public transport can feel after being on foot only for 10 weeks then suddenly finding myself having to brave public transport to get to work. A month in I'm still freaked by the amount of people not wearing masks (about 30-40% I'd say) but I'm masked and gloved and carrying hand sanitiser-I would advise you do the same.

  21. I've just got in from work having used both overground and Jubilee line at 9am this morning and back via the London bridge train at 8.45 ish this evening. This 'Rule' is being ignored-on the station platform this morning about 50% of people weren't wearing masks. On the Jubilee line about half the people in my carriage just dropped the masks to their necks therefore leaving their noses and moths uncovered. Coming home this evening on the Jubilee line a guy sat opposite me and removed his mask-I told him to put it back on-his response "why?" I told him 40.000 people have died in this country thats why.. his response was to ignore me and sit with it hanging off one ear-At London bridge there were lots of staff in High viz stood by the barriers-They didn't stop anyone walking through to the platforms who wasn't wearing a mask-and trust me-there were several. like lockdown the face covering rule will fall apart within weeks-in fact it seems to be being ignored already. A 2nd wave is sure to come with peoples attitude being what it is towards this very serious invisible threat to life. If nothing is being done to enforce these simple rules.
  22. All lives matter. In my ideal world there would be world peace where no one suffers due to colour or creed. We are all equal we all feel pain and all deserve love and compassion. One love one world

Says a lot about how > poorly our government handled the lockdown > measures and the entitled psyche in the UK > (specifically England.) I'm strongly against reducing the 2m rule. I'm working in central london and duce to the complacency of many (ie; man got on jubilee line today and removed his mask saying he was too hot) I'm convinced there will be a 2nd wave. people are becoming complacent-the 2m rule is not a rule as there is nobody to enforce it so we rely on peoples common sense. the 2m rule needs to stay because until they find a vaccine we are all in danger. As a country with the 2nd highest death toll in the world (beaten only by the vast USA) now is not the time to relax rules. This government went into lockdown 2 weeks later than they should have. And they are relaxing the rules too soon. When Dominic Cummings broke the rules and didn't resign or get fired this whole so called lockdown became a farce. I have several close friends who live in france and Italy and we did NOT have a lockdown like they had. Its a mess.

Yes I noticed all the rubbish in the woods and also a burnt patch of earth that looked like someone had lit a fire. It really upset me...I love those woods they have brought me peace in these anxious troubled times and It scares me that someones stupidity could mean all of that is lost. Also in the Dulwich college playing field I saw several empty pizza boxes just lying on the grass where a group had obviously left them. We are privileged to have access to these amenities at this time-they have been a real lifeline for me and I dont get why some people are so careless as to not respect our open spaces.
