Lockdown was over the moment Dominic Cummings took the P*** and didn't lose his job or resign. Makes the rest of us look like muppets for obeying the rules.

Recommendation Required For Decent Route By Car For Testing Eyesight
NewWave replied to KidKruger's topic in The Lounge
Its one rule for them another for us poor bastards who get packed off to our blue collar jobs whilst the virus is still in full throttle. I cant visit my loved ones and now I have to return to work with no idea of when I'll feel safe to actually see them because of having to use the tube and trains. This lot make me puke. the biggest death toll per head of the population in the world and people think Boris is doing a good job. -
Dulwich Common blocked by police car

Oh gosh thats awful! thanks for the info. I hope everyone is ok. Ive seen some deplorable driving on the south circular last few days lots of speeding and overtaking on wrong side of the road. Not saying that was the case her but we need some cameras on that stretch. -
I noticed around 11am a police car was blocking the Dulwich common part of the Soth circular it was still there a few hours later with no traffic going through. Hands up I'm merely being nosy..does anyone know why this was?

This makes me so angry its the entitlement of those sorts of people. where as I and others are on furlough worrying about our job security unable to see loved ones living on reduced incomes and reduced socialisation they consider themselves untouchable and unable to forfeit their cleaners and their little get-togethers. people like that make me puke and are a danger to themselves and the rest of us.

Cyclemonkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Plenty of people work low paid jobs and do not get > free travel, what makes working over 60s so > special? Most people still working who are over 60 are probably like myself in low paid jobs. The free travel makes a real difference to my weekly outgoings as I tavel from zone 3 to zone 1. Chances are people in well paid jobs are more likely to have the option to retire at 60 as I have a few friends my age where once they hit 60 they were able to take their company pension and retire lots of us in shop work, cleaning, catering etc have to wait until we get our state pension before we can retire.

I've been sticking to the guidelines only leaving home for shopping and walks and keeping 2m distance as well as wearing mask. However Its frustrating how many people dont seem to take this seriously. Just today I was queuing to buy some food and a car drove by close to the kerb windows down and someone leaned out of the window and sneezed really loudly straight at us then everyone in the car laughed just as loudly as the the sneeze. 2nd thing that happened today...a young female jogger on pavement brushed alongside my arm running on a narrow stretch of pavement -As this is not the 1st time someone has done this (weirdly its young white female joggers who seem to consistently run into the back of me or brush alongside me, perhaps men are more specially aware?) I shouted loudly as she ran in front "IDIOT ITS 2 METERS YOURE SUPPOSED TO DISTANCE!" she didn't even turn round or hear me oblivious with her headphones on (also goes with the profile-always young white female headphones) I really do despair tbh

are any toilet facilities open in Dulwich park?
NewWave replied to chaz123's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes surrounding areas really do smell of wee and I have even seen soiled underwear thrown under a hedge. The lack of any public loos has been a bit of a mare tbh on my daily exercise in this hot weather I'm scared to drink any water because I'm sure to need the loo (older persons bladder problems!)so I get home utterly parched! -
Since Dawson Hill is Social Housing I would contact Southwark council. most social housing estates have a designated estate warden/caretaker or they did on my mums one Or I would imagine theres a residents association

womanofdulwich Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If you are working, why is it unfair? Because I'm a low paid job if you must know-and before you ask I still get paid more than if I worked locally and could walk. Does that answer your question? ?8 per day because I choose (yes choose..shoot me down if you want)to take the quickest route to work which is Overground and underground-I often finish work late in the evening and want to get home at a decent hour rather than walk from the bus to my house at 11pm at night. I've worked since I was 13 (it was legal to work saturdays then)as a shop worker paid tax all my adult life and the retirement age for people in jobs like mine goes up and up (people I know in posh jobs have retired at 60) as a tax paying londoner having always paid my council tax and never claimed benefits I was relieved to be saving money by not needing an oyster card when I reached 60-that made a big difference to my monthly outgoings

Same-I was walking up DKH and I heard visually in my ear someone say "excuse me" I turned and so close behind me she brushed my arm as she ran past was a young jogger-There was no traffic in the road and she could have moved to the edge of the pavement and not been literally right on my heel. So annoying!

I only discovered yesterday from a neighbour who was emailed about the changes that I will no longer be able to use my freedom pass to get into work as its suspended during peak travel. This is so unfair-It assumes that us over 60's dont have commitments to get into work at a certain time and can just sit on our butts and leave home when we want. With the retirement age going up every year plenty of us over 60's HAVE to work and at roughly ?8 a day to get into work 5 days a week this makes a big dent out of my weekly salary its deeply unfair.

Finally a 'clear directive' from Boris on Covid-19

I could ride an adult tricycle for sure but have no idea where I'd leave in in the west end whilst I was at work. I think I'm just going to have to get mask and gloves and use the tube and overground like before sadly

I really cannot ride a bike-not only am I scared to but I have problems with my balance so wobbling across london is not an option I'm afraid even though I wish it was
