I do wish people would stop moaning about this. Its a couple of days and thats all. They have many more festival style events in Victoria Park, and when I was a child living in W2 in the 60's and 70's we had the Hyde Park free festivals and of course Notting Hill carnival. I don't remember my parents wringing their hands over the noise -in fact mum and dad remained in the area until they died in the 2000's and carnival was a lot more noisy and crazy than when I was a nipper but even in their 80's they accepted it was a community event enjoyed by many and only lasted 2 days. Also these events fall on Bank holidays when Kids are on holiday from school, the wealthy always left Notting hill when carnival weekend comes-If the noise from a festival that ends at 10.30 pm bothers you that much go away if you can afford to or accept it. it isn't every day it isn't every weekend

I don't think wealthy foodies would eat pizza from a chain tbh. But I'm sick and tired of these pizza and burger resturants..no wonder the UK has an obesity problem! -

I second Carphone Warehouse I've found them to be consistantly good with advice to handsets, deals etc and more than once they've saved me making a costly mistake though they do give you the option to return the phone for another if that model doesn't quite work out for you within 14 days I think it is. -
Sinister anti-CPZ posters in shop windows
NewWave replied to Lowlander's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Either way its the death knell for our local buisnesses and characterful high street. brace yourselves for more independent traders closing and LL full of chain stores chain restaurants and estate agents. I saw it happen in North Kensington despite widespread opposition by residents and traders alike. -
they have superb physio's at goose green clinic Ive seen a couple there both excellent

I agree with an earlier comment that this thread serves no purpose any more. Hopefully 'Saucy" will announce in the 'buisiness'section when they are actually reopening and then everyone can judge the place for themselves and post accordingly under a new heading. This thread no longer serves its purpose and has become a personal attack upon someone with a lot of horrendous health problems who stated that he had actually been in direct contact with the owners. it really is time to move on and look forward to the restaurant's hopefully imminent opening.

Well said-if someone is ill and their quality of life is impaired as a result a forum like this can be a very valuable way of connecting with people even if it sometimes involves them p***ing people off!

Yes! Id LOVE a meals yard apothacary to open here I'd be overjoyed in fact! I'd always go to Lloyds pharmacy for Pharmacy stuff over super drug but I find that Chemist on LL near the bus stop quite dreadful and REALLY overpriced! They wanted ?23.99 for something I knew I could buy at Lloyds for ?20.99 so I put it back and walked round the corner to Lloyds

I go to Roulier White for the expertise of the staff tbh-I like niche fragrances its my weakness and my twice yearly indulgence-the staff there are really knowledgable and passionate about perfume. I'm not a snob but for me personally a lot of the regular brands are a bit too chemical smelling for me or have base notes I don't like. I'd buy make up in super drug but would always choose Roullier white for perfume Incidentally I'm not a rich person but a shop assistant some people book luxury holidays I love nice unusal fragrances

Aggressive door to dooor cleaning product sellers
NewWave replied to AD's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Its not just unpleasant with small children around..its even worse for vunerable old people living alone. this is the sort of situation where they can get tricked out of money or the 'salesmen'could push into their home and steal their bag. please report -

Agree..It amazes me when I get on a crowded morning train and see some idiot with their bag sat on a seat. And its just plain daft the way people refuse to budge to let one get off the train at the canada water interchange, all it would take is one small side step but no..you have to literally push past them to get off. I could go on and on about how frustrated I am that our bus services seem to be cut and for those like myself who work in the west end we are very much at the mercy of the overground with its pathetic Canada water interchange,

I've heard really bad things about next door....read the reviews. i would think twice before registering with them and stick to genuine local forums like this one

Moving out of East Dulwich to release capital - but where to??
NewWave replied to GrumpyOldGitLady's topic in The Lounge
Hove and Brighton very expensive Hastings is brilliant, I have friends there who've moved from London.( they are all creatives,Artists, writers and designers) lots of galleries 90mins to London Bridge or Victoria, my friends also go from Hastings to Ahford and get the fast train to St Pancras Lewes is gorgeous but also very expensive for anything decent. depends what you're selling in ED tbh....if its a small flat or a house if its a house you can afford Brighton and Hove and Lewes a flat probably not -
