Donations outside charity shops

Donations outside charity shops
NewWave replied to siousxiesue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Its a real bugbear of mine too- I make a point of shouting 'Thief!' or 'Bin-diver!" at people when I see them rooting through things left outside charity shops. Breaks my heart-especially as the shops can't sell things left randomly outside in case a dog has peed on them. Stupid lazy people who dump donations outside when the shop is closed. -

Also people who buy next to or near a Pub then bleat about how noisy it is then complain. Its like buying a place on a main road and complaining about traffic noise. Some people need to get a life..or move to the country. Mind you then they'd probably complain about the noise from church bells and tractors.

Man in balaclava on Crystal Palace Road

Dont assume the worst...I think a solitary man in broad daylight wearing a mask is weird but harmless. at 3am on a deserted street I'd view this very differently. -
I have to say...back to the thread title I've really noticed the lack of 176's in the day and evening in the past couple of weeks. a 20min wait seems to be normal-not ideal after a long day at work

Beautiful flowers being picked and walked on.
NewWave replied to loni's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It saddens me that these 'mummies'dont realise the flowers are there for everyones pleasure. Many people live in flats and don't have the luxury of being able to sit outside and gaze at flowers unless they go to to a park. and more to the point we all pay for those flowers out of our council tax-so yes...It is stealing from you and I. And yes..I do think it stems from a godawful smug sense of entitlement -
Its SO annoying makes me think a public consultation is needed. If they'd done this because they were introducing another forest hill east dulwich-oxford st or oxford circus route fine. But they're not. The overground is hideously overcrowded and the buses round here are pants. it makes getting to and from work a nightmare.

Its a pretty poor service considering its the only bus that gets me from my home near the Horniman to anywhere near where I work on Bond st.

Xoco grill - closed for good - Memsaab now open...
NewWave replied to Abe_froeman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Dishoom is a fabulous Indian resturant wish we could have a branch of that near us. In fact even the Masala Zone chain is much better than a greasy bad curry house. Anyone know WHY the original place closed and was raided btw??? -

Violent Mugging in East Dulwich (March 2nd 2017)
NewWave replied to andrewfinch1994's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
rendelharris Wrote: even I think that rule about not > chasing moped riders once they take their helmets > off is quite ridiculous - effectively a free pass. > It really needs looking at. Firstly, this is terrible. I hope you are OK Andrew? That rule has been slightly misrepresented. Unfortunately it is only appropriately trained officers who can chase the helmet less scumbags. This is a reminder that if you think you are safe because you don't think you look like a "victim", you do to 8 masked bullies. -

Warning : theft just now at gym on crystal palace road
NewWave replied to Strawbs's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Worrying, as I always rush to the gym after work and therefore have no option but to carry my phone, keys credit card etc with me. I would assume the people must have been working in pairs with one as lookout whilst the other breaks in? The timing of this in half term makes me wonder if youths were involved? -

for the past few weeks I've regularly seen searchlights in the sky until at leat 1am. I live in forest Hill near the horniman up a hill-they seem to be coming from the direction of East Dulwich or Peckham. I first noticed them about a month ago and they were out in force last night until the early hours. PLEASE can anyone put me out of my misery and tell me where they're coming from and why?

Uber-every time. I swear by them and well priced.

Its all a joke tbh. I live in Forest Hill and work in Bond Street. My overground trains are dangerously overcrowded at peak times.the interchange at Canada water is ill thought out and again positively dangerous at peak times with acute overcrowding and pushing and shoving at peak times. To add insult to injury today there were no trains at all on the Overground beyond New Cross gate and of course none from London Bridge either. I was working today, and it was one of the busiest shopping days in the west end, getting to and from work took me 90mins each way. We desperately need more bus-routes going from Forest-hill/East Dulwich to Marble arch. Better train services with increased interchanges as Canada water is really overstretched. It would be amazing to have an express bus route like they have in parts of west London which could connect us easily to the west-end.
