  1. Dishoom is a fabulous Indian resturant wish we could have a branch of that near us. In fact even the Masala Zone chain is much better than a greasy bad curry house. Anyone know WHY the original place closed and was raided btw???

  4. India Gate on London Road Forest Hill next to the butchery. Never had a dud meal there and I'm a fussy cow!

Firstly, this is terrible. I hope you are OK Andrew? That rule has been slightly misrepresented. Unfortunately it is only appropriately trained officers who can chase the helmet less scumbags. This is a reminder that if you think you are safe because you don't think you look like a "victim", you do to 8 masked bullies.
  6. mine is 5.....feeling smug : )
  7. Worrying, as I always rush to the gym after work and therefore have no option but to carry my phone, keys credit card etc with me. I would assume the people must have been working in pairs with one as lookout whilst the other breaks in? The timing of this in half term makes me wonder if youths were involved?
  8. Wholefoods In Clapham Thats where we go
  9. Fab! Now I know
  10. for the past few weeks I've regularly seen searchlights in the sky until at leat 1am. I live in forest Hill near the horniman up a hill-they seem to be coming from the direction of East Dulwich or Peckham. I first noticed them about a month ago and they were out in force last night until the early hours. PLEASE can anyone put me out of my misery and tell me where they're coming from and why?
  11. Uber-every time. I swear by them and well priced.
  12. Its all a joke tbh. I live in Forest Hill and work in Bond Street. My overground trains are dangerously overcrowded at peak times.the interchange at Canada water is ill thought out and again positively dangerous at peak times with acute overcrowding and pushing and shoving at peak times. To add insult to injury today there were no trains at all on the Overground beyond New Cross gate and of course none from London Bridge either. I was working today, and it was one of the busiest shopping days in the west end, getting to and from work took me 90mins each way. We desperately need more bus-routes going from Forest-hill/East Dulwich to Marble arch. Better train services with increased interchanges as Canada water is really overstretched. It would be amazing to have an express bus route like they have in parts of west London which could connect us easily to the west-end.
  13. I changed from EE to O2 despite having been with them since the start of 'Orange' their former incarnation because I got no signal at home..I live in the Horniman triange.
  14. I've got a kindle and LOVE it...its brilliant, I pay per download though some are free. I'm reading more than ever before now I have it. highly recommended

I would hardly call this 'emotional distress' I saw someones face hit a car windscreen last week, and that DID cause me emotional distress. Frankly I have found since I moved to south london that it seems to be the norm here to charge extra to have hair blowdried after cut or colour. I find it a bit of a rip-off as my old hair salon that I still go to includes it in the price. The one time I did try a 'cheaper' local salon I found it wasn't cheaper at all once I'd added 20odd quid for a blow-dry. I just have straight bobbed hair so its hardly rocket science to dry my hair after a cut.
  17. I'm sorry but anyone who calls themselves dreamy mummy I can't take seriously.
  18. I've joined Everyone active having seen the improvements made since they took over from fusion. The water in the pool is definitely cleaner, ditto ladies loos seem cleaner. The gym is well equipped and the staff as previously mentioned are superb.. Now all we need is an aqua zumba class and I'd be 100% delighted with my discision to join.
  19. i saw the signage on the hoarding and sniggered. "Tribeca'- Triangle below Canal Street is how the area got its name. I don't know of any Canal Street in ED. Nor any canal. Its pathetic giving the building such a pseudo hipster name. I'm now expecting to see "Williamsburg Hights''Dumbo Court' 'Hoxton House' cropping up in our 'nabe
  20. I'm actually lucky enough to have been invited by a friend to go to the viewing on Saturday morning- aparently theres an all night viewing Friday into Saturday, we're going at 7.30am. I don't know how she got tickets but it should be fascinating.
  21. I did wonder why the was such a long wait for a bus going south from Denmark Hill yesterday evening.
  22. MissKing Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Brick House bakery is meant to be nice. I've not > tried it though so don't count on my > recommendation. My face brunch spot is Peddler. BrickHouse is way too choc full of families and babies at weekends for a large group like that to get a table together. Also VERY overpriced.
  23. The smell of Subway as I pass by always makes me want to throw up : (
  24. Franklins, Duck-egg is pretty rubbish in my opinion. Great Exhibition also good
