Agree with the latter post and the OP. I went to Brickhouse for lunch yesterday-brought a loaf of bread and ordered a salad and a coffee to have in-a total outlay of over a tenner-it was hard to find anywhere to sit-one long table was full of mums and buggies, the other laptop squatters, the smaller tables also had people on laptops-I shared one of these tables. The person sharing it with me had an empty cup when I arrived, and was still there when I left, ditto all the folks at the long shared tables, I recall seeing only one of these people eating a sandwhich. Cafes should put a minimum spend/maximum stay limit up for busy times, I think thats fair.

Are the pavements being widened for all the baby buggies? If they are trying to change our car usage by removing parking spaces; give me a break please? I commute all week and it is a luxury to jump in the car and "do the rounds" on a Saturday. No, I don't mean one end of LL to another but into Crystal Palace, LL etc. Finally, the work is taking an age!!

I had a friend who lived in South Norwood and had a number of issues with Crime. I'd recommend Forest Hill, Sydenham or Penge. But we live in Forest Hill and love it, you can walk to ED and Dulwich Village, theres Sydenham Woods, Horniman Gardens, the Farmers Market on saturdays, good coffee shops and lovely neighbours.

Went to Ice Fires on Saturday. Superb ice cream and sorbet. Chatted to owner, sounds he has great ideas for the place. stunning decor too. great to have exciting new places in the hood

Oxford street beggars shoving paper cups with coins in in my face whilst having a packet of Marlbororo and a mobile Phone sticking out of their pocket, accosting me on my lunch hour and going to and from work. If you can afford a cellphone and Cigarettes I aint giving you a dime.

We went to the dolls house on Friday night. wouldn't go back, bit of a 'meh' location And just not a particularly good atmosphere. The music was pretty rubbish also.

I used to live above a shop in Notting-Hill and it was brilliant, The shop below me closed at 6pm and didn't open Sundays, but next door was a late night convenience store and newsagent who were superb, They took in Parcels, kept an eye out for me (I lived alone at the time), and because both shops had cctv outside I always felt very safe. The only negative was papers being delivered around 6am so I'd hear that, But what was also great was that if I fancied a glass of wine or ran out of teabags I only had to nip downstairs. Plus I loved knowing that although I lived in a first floor flat I could dance up and down the living-room (which was much larger and with higher ceilings than I'd find in a non-commercial building) and not disturb downstairs neighbours. In fact I loved that flat.

Yes-along with many other people I get angsty when I find it hard to get a GP appointment or wait months for a physiotherapy referral but when you really really need them the NHS is incredible-we are so lucky to live in a country where such a health service exists. Either way it is somebody's home, And surely the main concern should not be about 'prime retail space' or 'eyesores' but the safety and wellbeing of the person who lives above a fire damaged and rundown property

they are welcome to do it in a big chain like cafe Nero...BUT... it REALLY annoys me when they do it in small independent coffee shops that rely on a turnover of food and coffee for their survival.

We went Last week to see the Falling. Loved the cinema, comfy seats good sound, However I also agree that the screening times need a tweak We don't have babysitter or kid issues but neither of us could get back from work and settled to watch a movie for 6pm. Also I desprately wanted to see Dior and I however none of the screening times were suitable for a full time worker and as it was only on for a few days I was unable to re-sceduile my weekend around it. It would be great if they could perhaps dedicate one later evening screening to the classics and niche movies because I feel totally gutted that most of the films I am actually excited about (Blade Runner being one of them) are at times that are impossible for a full time worker. I don't quite understand what demographic they feel they are aiming at with these timings. Finally going off Piste abit (a lot!) We had an Alfa...Never again!!!!!

Mine would be a Panther Motorcycle from the 1950's. No longer make them but my boyfriends grandfather brought the company and I would Love to be able to buy one for him as the company disolved in the mid-60's.
