It was definitely April 2004. In the picture that Keef provided of Half Moon Lane in Herne Hill my friends bar (Bolands now SE22) which was next door to the Lloyds Bank in the picture was severely flooded and their basement had to be drained of the water but it recovered in time for my sister's wedding reception at the end of the month. A friend took some photos at the time of waste bins floating down the road.
My mum could have scored with that header that Bent missed in the final minutes and she's been dead for 15 years. The only plusses in the game for us was our improvement in the second half and Defoe's fabulous equalising finish. We ain't going down. No way.
Good grief! Cheer up for feck's sake. Bloody hell, life could be a hell of a lot worse. Imagine you were some poor starving child in Africa. Jeez, it's only another dreary Monday tomorrow. Fecking hell you're a negative fecker. Smile and be happy. You don't know how lucky you are.
Dum di dum di dum di dum di dum di dum dum dum. I loved the that programme as a kid and the theme tune too, which is I so hummable. RIP indeed. Lovely man. Edited because I was a bit pissed when I wrote the orginal.

It's because of the history behind the term. Maybe you're too young to remember skinheads going out Paki-bashing in the late 60s and early 70s. I don't particularly like being called a Brit either but being of Asian descent or having a darker skin and being called a Paki even if you're from Pakistan or not is disrespecful and most certainly a derogatory remark.
Quids - irony doesn't seem to come over too well on the page and that's why me and buggie didn't get it. It just looked like what it was. The only person who seems to do it well on this forum is *Bob*. Anyway, nurses are great and do a very tough and demanding job. If you're ever seriously ill in hospital you'll soon find out how hard they work and the long hours that they do. I still don't think they get paid enough.

I'd say The Palmerston would be classed as a gastro-pub Louisa and I'm pretty sure Sean would agree as it has it's own chef and is not a slave to the Pubcos.

Not the ones I've been out with. ;-)
I concur with you there Sean. Perhaps we should call them foodie pubs or some such nonsense rather than gastro even though the food is generally microwaved crap more likely to cause gastroenteritis.
Sounds like a salesman from another company and he's trying to sign you up. It's happened to me in the past and be careful because you could end up paying more in the long run.
It's true. In fact I've seen him on loads of buses recently not just the 185. I think he's trying drum up some publicity for his new film Seven Pounds.
