  1. Well done for standing up to these bloody irritating twerps who think they are so tough. I'd have I've done the same myself after witnessing their behaviour and for being insulted in the same way as you were. Usually I can't be bothered but if provoked enough I can do the look and the verbals if need be if I feel it's doing my head in and they have reluctantly complied. Fortunately, I've only once had to resort to physical violence when a gang of them turned on me. Violence is always the last resort. Trouble is you never know these days if one of the little shits is carrying a weapon. Having said that people talking on the phone on public transport irritates as well.
  2. Well done darling, you've worked hard for what you've achieved and deserve all the plaudits coming your way. A pay rise wouldn't go amiss either would it. Drinkypoo soon methinks. x

    BBC news

It's still a long way better than ITV, Channel 5 and Sky News. Channel 4 at 7pm is the best though.
  4. Pah! Hendrix was a god. Strummer was a fake. A posh boy slumming it.

What a great name for a band. The Dandelions. Oooh I'm liking that so much I'm off to form a band right now. There are no Gods only religion.
  6. Two sides to every story. I'm really glad Defoe is back. He's quick and he scores goals and if he can strike up a good partnership Pavloychenko all the better. I was at White Hart Lane last night and we were bloody awful in the first half but one substitution later - Jamie O'Hara for a flash and bone idle David Bentley - and 21 minutes later we're 4-1 up. Job done.
  7. Oops! To be honest Cassius I haven't really perused the wine list properly but enjoyed a very nice Shiraz Cabernet in there with my lunch the other week but seen some fairly good looking wines on the shelves.
  8. Actually AFN I found myself in your neck of the woods last night and popped into the Golden Anchor on Eveline Road. Now, you probably wouldn't have the balls to go in there yourself because I fancy up you're far too up your own preconceived Nunhead but if you do ever pop in there you'll find a very nice and friendly predomninently West Indian pub that plays great old reggae tunes and the brothers playing dominoes in the front bar. I liked the look of the food on offer and shall be returning soon. Great Guinness too by the way.

    bed time

I'm a lazy git who likes to stay up late and get up late but as I get older I do find that the odd early night during the week helps my general equlibrium after too many late nights. The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
  10. Love it. The final sentence does it for me. "Every pub in the city has a face like yours in it." Good work Ted.
  11. Seconded Alan. The best selection of real ales and German and Belgian bottled beers. Nice pint of Guinness too. I might add that they also have a pretty good wine list too.
  12. Hoorah! I've been meaning to pop in for a while. By the way what time do you open on Fridays? As I was thinking of nipping in with a couple of young ladies for a spot of lunch. Probably the week after though.
  13. I didn't really want to diss Ulrika on here. I don't know the woman after all. I'm sure she's great fun. She is after all a good foil for Vic & Bob's mericless piss taking and she takes it all in her stride. For example:- BOB: "Ulrika, lovely to see you. Just how many kids have you had since I last saw you." ULRIKA: "I saw you in make-up ten minutes ago." BOB: "Exactly." Anyway, Sven Goran-Eriksson and Stan Collymore to name but two... It's pretty obvious she has very poor taste in men.
  14. Gotta Give It Up - Talk Talk
  15. Pah! Nunhead is a cesspit of gloom apart from the cemetary and the Ivy House of course.
  16. Girls Talk - Dave Edmunds
  17. It's a lovely pub especially in the summer when you can sit outside and watch the world go by but the service has been crap in there for years, decades even. High turnover of staff speaks volumes.

  19. Keef old bean... she's had more pricks than a second hand dartboard. Fact.
  20. The Verve. Fuck yeah! Second album was half decent (History is a great track) but still had a load of filler and overbloated shite on it and rest of their output with Dickie Ashcroft's inflatable megolomaniacal ego to fore is just awful.

Gone and ruined my street cred you have sir. Most people think I'm a yardie from Kingston and it's true I'm a yardie from Kingston Upon-Thames.
  23. Mean Girl - Status Quo
  24. Cold? Call this bloody cold! When I were a lad the bedroom were so cold it had icicles on the windows and you could see your own breath. And as for snow, call that bloody snow! I can remember building igloos let alone bloody snowmen in the street. Pah! Flipping youngsters of today, they're all bloody soft.
