  1. I grew up in Pickwick Road and indeed Dickens did drink everywhere and another place was the Grove House Tavern on Camberwell Grove which is mentioned in Tales of Two Cities but under a different name.
  2. FHT Forest Hill Tavern. Kel. I hope so Lozzyloz but it would be hard to top that wouldn't it. I could have a word with Duncan & Nikki in the Dog. I'm sure they'd put something out. I don't think we'd go hungry, but then we're there to drink aren't we?
  3. It's Keith Richards 64th birthday today and seeing as he is a national treasure and a hero of mine I felt the need to put this up. This isn't what you'd normally hear from him, just Keith and an old piano, doing some nice Hoagy Carmichael with cool pictures too. Happy Birthday Keith. The Nearness Of You/Sing Me Back Home
  4. It just goes to show how far behind the times the suits at the BBC are. They've been perfectly happy enough to play it up until now 20 years after it's original release. Even the founder of the Gay Rights Group Outrage Peter Tatchell was quoted yesterday as saying: "I can't see most gay people being offended by this." And when you put it into the context of what the song is about it really is bloody stupid of them.

People who like lager, not that it's my drink of choice but there must be at least a choice of ten different lagers on tap. A pretty good wine list too and plenty of real ale. Anyway, I don't see many people complaining on here. See for yourself. The Dog
  6. Tottenham finally got their first away win of the season at the weekend at Portsmouth and blimey a clean sheet too! Now we're up against Man City tonight who haven't lost at home yet in the quarter-final of the League Cup and although we beat them a couple of weeks ago at White Hart Lane tonight could be a little more difficult. Oh! and we're away to the Gooners at the weekend...even more bloody difficult. I watched the not so "Super Sunday" from the bar in the CPT with my Liverpool daft niece whose vocal encouragement of the Reds could probably be heard in the Castle up the road to the bemusement of a few others around us. At least it was more entertaining than the football on offer.
  7. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Shame there selection of beer is rather limited :| Stuff and bloody nonsense. They have more than the Plough, who are owned by the same company. They always have at least three or four different real ales on everyday. And, if it's lager you're looking for the list is very impressive.
  8. For you maybe and for others maybe not. It's certainly one place the Forum Drinks hasn't been to yet.
  9. I had to post this as I've had the tune in my head all day especially the lyric:- "I've been up all night again party time wasting it's so much fun". And I haven't heard it in years and I've lost my copy of the album and it's a bloody great song. Roxy Music - Mother Of Pearl
  10. I've been up all night again party time wasting is so much fun
  11. The Dog (Crown & Greyhound) Dulwich Village.
  12. I think we should give the Dog a whirl. Let's go posh in SE21.
  13. I forgot to remember to forget.
  14. Strange night, seemed to have been quiet a few office parties and such like going on at the same time in the Plough, people wearing silly paper hats and whatnot. Ended up in the Drum as per usual, but I'm pretty sure I was home by about two...ish.

    Great Gigs

Ha! that's nothing. I saw the Pink Fairies at Windsor Free Festival in '73 or '74 and they'd had a load of downers and one by one they collapsed in a heap and had to be carried off after just a few numbers.
  16. I'll get me coat.
  17. I thought that was pretty good Sean, Julie Sawhala's lovely.
  18. A few more for the casting couch. *Bob* - Denis Waterman ("he writes the theme tune, sings the theme tune.") Alan Dale - John Thaw Dulwich Mum - Liz Hurley Sean MacGabhann -Dermot Morgan Asset - Lee Remick Keef - Ozzy Osbourne Mockney Piers - Quintin Tarantino Maurice - Terry Thomas
  19. Frankie Howerd? Oh titter ye not capt-birdseye. So far Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Gandolph, Michael Elphick, Frankie Howerd - oh please yerselves.

I don't think I could tower over anyone as I'm only 6ft or do you mean towering presence? And I'll have you know that Liz Smith is a very talented and much loved actress. *Bob* - I'm liking the Michael Elphick but I'd rather be Keith Richards if you don't mind.
  21. So far I've been Keith Richards/Ronnie Wood (that I don't mind, either one suits) but bloody Gandolph!!!! I can assure you I'm not that hideous Lozzyloz and I certaintly don't wear a bloody hoodie like he does. Lozzyloz - Liz Smith
  22. Fear not Tillie, Gillian Anderson was the tottie in the X-Files. Oooh-er Tottie Trotter.
  23. "Fings Ain't Wot They Used To Be" Award to Louisa.
  24. Simply one of the best break-up songs ever. Gets me every time.
  25. Brendan's Sex Pistols review takes some beating and I laughed out very loudly at Allfornun's Jimmy Cagney moment.
