You've made a good point there Mockney about the Dog's popularity on a Sunday lunchtime. It's probably the one day that I tend to avoid it, or I'll pop in later on when all the families with kids who have gone there to eat have buggered off back home and I can get some elbow room at the bar and get the drinks in.

Oh! come on Ant the food in the Dog's not that bad. It's certainly improved from a few years back when Barney and his Mrs were running the place but then again I only go to the pub to drink because that's what they are primarily there for, if I want to eat out I'll go to a restaurant. Still, I may well pop in and try out the "new" Plough soon enough and will report back.

*Wakes up from stoned, dreamy slumbers, almost choking half to death on moth that has flown into mouth from Keef's wallet. Recovers quickly, soothes throat with coffee and fags, realises am late for work again and makes a dash for the door.*

Tillie, I am appalled you forgot to mention that I was also in TBC...and drinking with you too...met Mark who said "hello" and spotted the charming and handsome devil that is F & B. In fact I went two nights in a row and got absolutely hammered on each occasion...in fact I've been pretty damned hammered all weekend. I feel like death today. I'm a Zombie! Must give my liver, kidneys and pancreas a well earned rest this week before the weekend comes and do it all again.:)-D

Just remembered - penny up the wall, also played cards, Black Jack mostly.

Can't remember chanting anything during British Bulldog, mind you it's a long time since a played that. But whenever a fight erupted, which was frequently it was "Bundle."

Was reading a book on Peter Cook recently so dug out some old Derek & Clive. Still very very funny when you're smashed after a late night out on the juice. Also, The Faces for similar reasons. I have a mate who whenever he gets pissed has a war cry of "Put the Faces on FFS."

British Bulldog, yeah I remember that one and rounders too but I played football. I was obsessed with football, wanted to be a footballer and nearly was until I discovered sex and drugs and rock & roll. Used to go to school early play football until school started, then every break time and then after school until it got dark. Happy days.
