I remember when the Plough was a quite a good pub but it's a long time ago, the same could be said of the Grove Tavern, further up the road which has been a Harvester for far too long. Both of them need to change with the times.
Sorry I didn't make it but after several nights in a row on the razz and hardly any sleep I just had to have an early night. Will try to make it on Sunday.
Prince was great in the 80s, Sign Of The Times is a classic but I'm not so sure I'd want to go and see him now but the man is an amazing musician and brilliant showman. Nah! Actually I really want to go now. Doh!
I was there that night when Eddie Izzard played to a packed out EDT. That must be getting on for 15 years ago and I'll go along with what Keef says about that night. I thought he was really overrated. Best local one for me though was Al Murray, The Pub Landlord in the same venue about four or five years ago. Absolutely hilarious. Other than that Mark Thomas at the Pheonix Festival in '94. Thought provoking and bloody funny at the same time. Wish I'd seen Bill Hicks though. Am dead jealous of anyone who caught him live. Genius and still inspiring. Tragic he died so young.
Just finished Exile On Main Street. A Season In Hell With The Rolling Stones by Robert Frank. About the making of the album and the general debauchery at Keith Richards house in the south of France. Wonderfully decadant. A pretty damned good rock & roll memoir.

Spotted this in the Independent on Sunday. A woman's email to Telecom New Zealand was rejected by the firm's net-nanny service because it contained "inappropriate" language. The offending word was "gay" - a difficult one for her to omit from messages since her name is Gay Hamilton.
Because our American cousins are illiterate fools. That's a sweeping generalisation I know. They speak English but a lot of the spelling of our words are spelt incorrectly i.e color without the u. Normalcy sounds like some sort of illness or disease doesn't it? Anyway I am way off the subject of this thread. Sorry.
You know I am Tillie. I got an excellent triple album box set of King Tubby last week for a fiver. Unfortunately I'd already got one of the CDs inside, so you can have the spare copy of Crucial Dub if you want it. Bim! Dub it up stylee>:D
