  1. The mighty Taman Shud's debut album Viper Smoke is out on Trashmouth Records this week. Go and see them live. Here's a taster which was a single last year. And here's the latest single and accompanying video.
  2. North London derby tomorrow and it will be the first time I haven't been in nearly a decade. As much as I'd like Spurs to thrash Arsenal tomorrow the realist in me can at most expect a draw. Same goes for Liverpool away next week. Anything more than that and I'll be a very happy man indeed.

The very same Martin Carr, SJ.
  4. Some very nice words here about our lovely club. http://www.brixtonbuzz.com/2015/02/as-dulwich-hamlet-attendances-continue-to-soar-a-new-fan-explains-the-appeal/

Weller was an abrasive fecker when he was on the gear. Back in the 90s he crashed into me at a Dr John gig at Dingwalls without apologising. I thought about having words but he was obviously a bit smashed so let it slide. At the after show party at HQ I'd gone to the loo for a slash and Weller was in there with Noel Gallagher and a couple of other Britpop tossers shoving gak up their hooters. Much merriment was being had but as we're leaving the lav Weller spots Martin Carr of the Boo Radleys, who he'd earlier shared a stage with as a guest of Dr John, tears after him and starts trying to knock seven bells out of him for apparently hitting a couple of bum notes on stage. It took three or four of us to drag him off. It left me thinking he was a bit of an arsehole.

I wouldn't say I was a fan. I have a few of his records. The Jam were very much of their time but he wrote some 'classic' material with them at a very young age. I didn't like the Style Council at all and his solo stuff is hit and miss. I can take him or leave him but you've got to admire his longevity in the music business. If he's getting accolades and awards now it's probably because he's been around so long. Though I've never been over keen on his singing voice. He's a fine musician without being spectacular or show offy and a good songwriter who's learnt his craft over the 40 years he's been working. He's written some great songs and some not so good too. His shows still sell out and he still shifts plenty of units. I suppose you could say he's a bit of a geezer but saying he's a icon is a bit of a stretch and I hate all that Modfather bollocks.
  8. Caudrado's a predominantly a right winger. As for Redknapp he left before he was pushed. Hoddle left the same afternoon and with Chris Ramsey and Les Ferdinand already in place I fully expect Tim Sherwood to take the vacant manager's seat at QPR.
  9. It's what he's always wanted.
  10. This. Keep On Flying by Mutado Pintado from emma sullivan on Vimeo.
  11. Go on then.
  12. Spurs may be "coping quite well at the moment" but we have played 39 games so far this season and we played nine times in January and that's without the Europa League which will resume again soon. That's when our problems will arise again. Playing in the Europa League is tough, tougher than the Champions League. There are too many games and having the clubs drop in from the Champions League is unfair in my opinion and just adds to the amount of games teams have to play.

  14. Doh! Of course.
  15. Maxxi wrote - - ask AC - in 'her' new incarnation. Sorry to be a busybody (though I do believe I'm in the right thread for being so) but who was AC and what is her new incarnation? PS: I do hope you and Alan get over your lover's tiff. PPS: I don't remember us ever having a run-in Maxxi.
  16. On a French kick this morning. Tres chic.
  17. Catch 22 for you Parkdrive.
  18. Mine has been fine all week until today. Broadband connection keeps cutting out.

  21. Certainly not. It doesn't apply when you're single and carefree. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the bakery was where Si Mangia is now.
  22. It is going to be very difficult for Tottenham. We have an away fixture at Fiorentina in the UEFA Cup three days before the final. It will be interesting to see who Pochetino picks for that game and the performance of the players and mindset before a cup final, especially considering winning a UEFA Cup can now get you into the Champions League. Obviously the League Cup final should take priority as winning a trophy is all that matters but Chelsea will have a few days extra rest. The Italian fixture is a game we can do without.
