How on earth do you get there, does it take forever? I guess you'd fly to Inverness, but from there?
  2. 1. If the strength of the PL is (in some part) responsible for England's malaise what would people prefer (assuming this was the choice)? A strong England or a strong PL (with their team as a part of it natch)? Strong PL with Tottenham playing a part. Easy decision. 2. Others who support lower league teams are pissed-off about the decision to allow PL youth teams into the EFL (Checkatrade) Trophy. PL clubs may want their youngsters to get 'real' match experience but it is panned by fans of lower league teams who regard this as their chance to win some silverware. A bit like the Champions League teams who drop down into the Europa cup if they're knocked out, it devalues the achievements of others in the competition. I don't understand lower league fan's beef here. Surely PL teams playing kids gives the lower league teams a better chance of progressing, not the opposite as suggested. Or, are they suggesting that PL 'B' teams are allowed in as well as 'A' teams? I thought that idea had been rejected outright?

We all had bogeymen that we were afraid of in the primary school playground.

  5. The qualifier pricing was quite expensive from what I saw. I had an email last week saying there were still tickets on sale starting at ?45. The friendlies are cheap though (?20)

Am I the only one that finds the whole thing funny? Purely for it's ridiculousness
  7. The brown sauce thing has just reminded me of one. I always have HP sauce with Fish Pie. In fact, most white fish with a white (ish) sauce. It goes remarkably well. Also, always have mint sauce with Shepherd's Pie (but I rarely use real shepherd's these days), but I guess that's less controversial/disgusting as Lamb is involved.

  9. When I was a kid i used to eat strawberry jam sarnies with pickled onions on the side. I tell myself now that it was a sweet and sour thing.

  11. I'd love to see a good steak restaurant. As far as I know there's nowhere to get a good steak in ED. Something akin to Buen Ayre (small independent Argentinian steak restaurant) in Broadway Market, Hackney. Which for my money does the best steak in town. Better than Gaucho and half the price. Never tried Hawksmoor though. Their 14oz Sirloin is a thing to behold- great quality as well as quantity. I know that importing meat isn't de rigeur, but when it tastes this good it's hard to argue. http://www.buenayre.net/the-menu/
  12. I wonder if eating standing up is better for digestion?
  13. Putting excess gravy in a mug and drinking it. Eating Nutella from the jar with a spoon. And going the other way- eating kebabs and pizzas with a knife and fork.

  15. What's the attraction? Why is it SO popular? I watched a couple of episodes last year and it was excruciating. As far as I can see it's a load of obnoxious gits pandering to an obnoxious git.
  16. Bring the frogs indoors. Set them up with little armchairs in front of the fire, with a decent view of the telly.
  17. Ah sorry, I did misunderstand. I'm afraid I know nothing about that.
  18. Did you get your quote from the bank last week or earlier?
  19. Unless i'm completely misunderstanding what you're asking?
  20. Why would you want them sent from the states? Why not just exchange? If your bank are quoting you $1.31 to the ? I would bite their arms off. I have to say i'm very very surprised though. Thomas Exchange in the City, when ordered online, regularly give the best rates in London. Today's US$ rate with them is $1.2575 to the ?. Today's spot rate is $1.2733; so I really don't think your bank will give you $1.31
  21. Not that i give a single F-word either way; but wouldn't it be a lot easier just to sell the jewellery if they needed the money?
