That aside - is it still thumbs up for bt? We have virgin but just too expensive but can not afford to lose any internet capacity (needed for work plus youngsters using all the time) latest recommendations appreciated.

There seems to be a bizarre anti mask movement based on the belief it is all part of scaremongering And ?it does not protect you. I find it hard to fathom this mindset - do they think that all those people dying is a fabrication? Also it is a matter of protecting others (should you be a carrier) mind boggling in their obstinence.

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
tiddles replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
James - can you please acknowledge that you have seen the photos posted regarding the road closures. I suspect you are paying lip service to people?s genuine concerns to the impact to us normal folk that the road closures are having. I know you have to probably have to tow the line and I personally feel the council really don?t give two hoots about how they impact us little people once they have an idea in their head but it would be nice if you could understand (and maybe go and have a look for yourself) -
Dulres3 you are spot on. Otto2 cycling is great if you can but many are not able simply as they are going about their work. I often have to bod about collecting materials for a small local landscaper. The trip to south London decorators and other suppliers is now taking much more time - spent sitting in idling traffic - for the benefit of the already very privileged?

Rye lane walk & cycle only from 6/7
tiddles replied to rollflick's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
so does this mean getting to the station is going to be more difficult? then they wonder why people don't use public transport!!! what about the customers of Rye Lane - many of which use buses to get there? I am beginning to think Southwark wants to shut us all down? -
Wow that is an idiotic decision re rye lane. Hi is a very long stretch - have they actually looked at the costumers who shop there - LOADS arrive by bus - how the ***k are they going to get to the shops . And don?t get me started on getting to peckham rye station for commuting. Are you sure this is a real proposal? James if this is real could you raise this ASAP?

I understand the Herne are closed today - busy gearing up for tomorrow.....
-
yes I thought the questions were incredibly biased leading towards a favourable repsonse in some way - I clicked other most times and put a short answer. I think alot of people are driving to and from work? There are also alot of businesses in West Dulwich that will be affected by people not making the journey (if you are visiting the garden centre, a good chance you need the car)
-
trouble is - it is part of a route for alot of people (including the people who live there)

Why are UK pubs reopening on......a Saturday??

Did you honestly think the government would actually have thought the whole thing thru? Surely their whole handling of this crisis would suggest they don?t have the ability to properly assess the end results of their decisions -

James I suggest you visit Dulwich village to see what the new road closures has resulted in - plus east dulwich grove now that Melbourne grove is shut. Please observe and report back to the necessary persons at the council. Whilst there perhaps measure the levels of pollution. -
The fact remains that dulwich village is at a standstill and should an ambulance want to get from turney up caltob Avenue it would face a massive delay being unable to take the direct route and probably be stuck in the gridlock that is the turn left.
-
I suspect It is the new road closures - Carlton avenue and court land are now dead ends so massive rerouting of cars away from the normal direct routes. Have a look at the ?our healthy streets? thread
-
So I have a few acquaintances who live I Dalton, Druce and Woodwarde road - they are furious.
-
cannot see what on earth these closures have to do with Covid? its a blanket excuse for any old cock up basically. I hope they measure the pollution levels very soon and compare with before.
-
And bizarrely the air quality can only get worse in the village in particular? I sat at 3 light changes next to the primary school as cars could not go straight ahead so had to wait to turn left - which was gridlocked due to the increased level of traffic going that way. utterly bonkers. plus the people living in woodwarde road and the closed off streets now have to undertake a massive loop simply to get through the village.
-
I am stunned by the negative impact on the village - main roads jammed with cars taking the only route not that the obvious and more direct routes have been closed. I then came down east dulwich grove which was queuing back to tell grove ? Aha another route shut. I feel sorry for the shops (and the residents in the main roads) as they will have great difficulty getting to and from their houses by car. Crikey what a cock up (tho most of us spotted that beforehand)
-
Dulwich has been gridlocked all afternoon

I used to pick up litter and pop in nearest bin but a)the bins are overflowing and b) I am avoiding touching anything when out!

Parents, please spare a thought for home workers!

The schools don?t have enough room to have them all back and socially distanced -
I just hope the person who had identified her daughter will address the issues and have a word with the parents of her associates. I am amazed that their appalling behaviour is being in any way defended. It?s pretty clear this is not just kids hanging out - sounds like they are being disruptive, intimidating and causing damage. Police need to sort this now.
-
Oh how dreadful - so sorry to hear this.
-
I can guarantee that any conversation with these youngsters would not end well. If they are behaving as reported (threatening a pregnant lady etc). The pictures are not voyeuristic - this strikes me as someone at the end of their tether trying to workout how to deal with a bunch of youngsters behaving badly And disturbing Their neighbourhood. If they are mucking about in the early hours then that is just not on. Not interested in their backgrounds - the little blighters should be home in bed. If they are asleep at dawn then ideally the police should scoop them up and their parents collect them from the station with a bit of a lecture. Right now tho not likely to happen.

Shops and restaurants that will not reopen after lockdown

Yes JohnL I was wondering about that as well - it seems to clash with data protection thing (not meant to retain any data about customers?)
