  1. yes fraid so RahRahRah - otherwise one has to go down to Lordship lane, turn left, go round roundabout and then head back up lordship lane. A massive loop instead of a straight forward journey.
  2. I am particularly concerned by the reduction of public transport access to Rye Lane and the key railway station. The gridlock caused by the road closures are a very serious cause for concern. Also not help by children using the new car free area as a playground - there are still bikes using this as a highway so only a matter of time before there is some sort of collision.
  3. have you been on the roads lately Rahrahrah - if the traffic was moving it would be no problem but the traffic is now stationary.
  4. 2pm south circular queuing from harvester lights back to ryecoates mead. 12 min wait at harvester lights to turn right into south circular - the turn right filter is so quick lots of red light jumping Edited to add 3.30 and dulwich village from turney to easy dulwich grove stationary. I have not previously been here at that time so not sure if this is unusual. Nearly all the cars are turning right so a filter now needed.
  5. Just driven from gallery road to top of friern. Exiting gallery road at 5.20 traffics heading towards the old harvester was backed up beyond that junction. Crawled along south circular - one police van and two ambulances managed to get thru the almost stationary traffic (cars pulling up onto the pavements etc. Got to top of friern toad at 5.43 . Traffic heading towards the harvester from the library also queuing
  6. Yes close lordship lane and further damage the businesses who have already had a tough time.
  7. What an astonishing remark - if you don?t like it move? Are you assuming that the many people who work around here should move closer to work? (Have you checked out teachers salaries and how much property is) most people have to travel in some way as they don?t have the luxury of living nearby. Which brings me onto my next rant - commuters travelling from peckham rye to work now have an added obstacle in that they cannot get a bus to the station? This is nuts. All those people travelling to a ?value for money? shopping centre who normally use the bus now have a massive hike up the lane? Lots of mums with buggies and a lot of older folk with their shopping trolleys. I really would love to be a fly on the wall during one of these?what can we bugger up now? meetings
  8. Oh how awful. Maybe carry the kittens in a carrier round the streets as someone suggested?
  9. thanks ED light and Lpool - I was wondering if anyone was using them and they were ok. may have to investigate (I am such a techno dunce I am terrified of making a dreadful mistake!)
  10. But it?s not a 5 min diversion
  11. so can you get the bus up rye lane to the station then?
  12. That aside - is it still thumbs up for bt? We have virgin but just too expensive but can not afford to lose any internet capacity (needed for work plus youngsters using all the time) latest recommendations appreciated.
  13. There seems to be a bizarre anti mask movement based on the belief it is all part of scaremongering And ?it does not protect you. I find it hard to fathom this mindset - do they think that all those people dying is a fabrication? Also it is a matter of protecting others (should you be a carrier) mind boggling in their obstinence.
  14. James - can you please acknowledge that you have seen the photos posted regarding the road closures. I suspect you are paying lip service to people?s genuine concerns to the impact to us normal folk that the road closures are having. I know you have to probably have to tow the line and I personally feel the council really don?t give two hoots about how they impact us little people once they have an idea in their head but it would be nice if you could understand (and maybe go and have a look for yourself)
  15. Dulres3 you are spot on. Otto2 cycling is great if you can but many are not able simply as they are going about their work. I often have to bod about collecting materials for a small local landscaper. The trip to south London decorators and other suppliers is now taking much more time - spent sitting in idling traffic - for the benefit of the already very privileged?
  16. so does this mean getting to the station is going to be more difficult? then they wonder why people don't use public transport!!! what about the customers of Rye Lane - many of which use buses to get there? I am beginning to think Southwark wants to shut us all down?
  17. Wow that is an idiotic decision re rye lane. Hi is a very long stretch - have they actually looked at the costumers who shop there - LOADS arrive by bus - how the ***k are they going to get to the shops . And don?t get me started on getting to peckham rye station for commuting. Are you sure this is a real proposal? James if this is real could you raise this ASAP?
  18. I understand the Herne are closed today - busy gearing up for tomorrow.....
  19. yes I thought the questions were incredibly biased leading towards a favourable repsonse in some way - I clicked other most times and put a short answer. I think alot of people are driving to and from work? There are also alot of businesses in West Dulwich that will be affected by people not making the journey (if you are visiting the garden centre, a good chance you need the car)
  20. trouble is - it is part of a route for alot of people (including the people who live there)
  21. Did you honestly think the government would actually have thought the whole thing thru? Surely their whole handling of this crisis would suggest they don?t have the ability to properly assess the end results of their decisions
  22. James I suggest you visit Dulwich village to see what the new road closures has resulted in - plus east dulwich grove now that Melbourne grove is shut. Please observe and report back to the necessary persons at the council. Whilst there perhaps measure the levels of pollution.
