  1. No need as we can all travel as we feel necessary
  2. Yes - peckham park today was a clear indication of us caring for our familes
  3. In light of today?s announcements and in view of the founder of the Thursday clap for nhs suggesting this now comes to a close - should we make Thursdays at eight a ?boo for Boris? ?
  4. We have had some large deliveries and have a few very large boxes- 50cm x 70cm x 96cm - the sort of thing kids could use to make a camp/temp castle etc. Pm me if interested and I will ping my address. They are sitting on my front garden so no contact necessary
  5. What blah blah said. He?s winged it most of his life. If in doubt say something in Latin. He is out of his depth. No ideA and I think he may have just twigged he is out of his depth. No not to blame for the pandemic BUT his govts reliance has been one almighty cock up.
  6. Seems overly heavy handed and a bit of common sense would not go amiss - he allowed to pay the fine rather than the debt that has escalated due to admin
  7. There are very few cameras to catch dangerous driver?s - the odd speed one but not enough to stop the idiots
  8. what lindylou says - asap!!! how awful for you!!
  9. I saw a damsonfly the other Nigello a thought it was a small dragonfly TIL I saw your post. Found a tiny toad whilst gardening so left that area alone. Several tits visiting my feeders but some new young feline visitors a bit too interested in these so not so many birds as last year. My favourite nature spot is the walk alongside peckham adventure playground - robins, thrushes and blackbird couples whizzing about that lovely canopy.
  10. Not sure an architect was actually involved...
  11. probably paying suppliers they owe - that is the challenge the hospitality trade is facing - most suppliers to be paid within 30 days of invoice, so all those feb/march invoices are to be paid but with zero income. even when shut there are outgoings that cannot be stopped = electricity, security, telephone lines/broadband (linked to alarm system) and so on. wish them the very best of luck
  12. The president of the USA is a complete idiot so I would not listen to anything he says. He?s a rambling fool who along with a load of serious personality disorders is also extremely stupid.
  13. Delighted to see Rose and Bloom?s artwork is on the national news websites! Also a lovely ballon rainbow on piedmont green - thanks all involved it?s so uplifting to see
  14. That?s the salt coming out - but even when that has leached out the are still awful (and cheap) bricks
  15. Ha ha ha my other half has been banging on about the bricks that have been used - totally wrong and do not exactly blend in...
  16. Are they being pollarded now? In nesting season?
  17. Oh how awful - best wishes to the cyclist concerned. on my weekly shop car journey I am driving very cautiously simply because there are so many cyclists and runners. Please drivers double check at junctions and just slow down if there is no place to pass - let?s face it unless you are an emergency responder we should be taking everything very carefully.
  18. I went to organic village yesterday and they were operating a strict entry system and directing people around a one way system as the shop was so small. Customers were also keeping well clear of each other. Could down to be who is in charge that day I think. totally agree that the small shops are problematic and need to keep on the ball.
  19. Went to sainsbos today - very calm and organised. People being very careful to keep their distance. Shelves well stocked - except for the odd bits - chick peas and flour in particular. Some veggies missing but plenty of other stock.
  20. I was thinking the exact same thing the other day- trying to steer well clear of the clouds emitting from a gentleman walking down the street.
  21. Many of us are in the lucky position to have a cleaner. We are all up against it, but may I suggest that you pay your cleaner a small 'retainer'. These people have not been covered by the recent Budget announcements. I appreciate we are all working our how the heck to manage (I am self employed my self) but I feel we should be supporting those people who work for themselves. My cleaner is too anxious to travel on public transport (quite understandably) but by being careful she is losing her livlihood. best wishes to everyone and keep safe and well
  22. Today I walked my dog in the park. Lots of people out and about but avoiding each other -I would say a good 3 metres apart. will continue in this manner until we are instructed otherwise. handwashing at every opportunity and working from home (luckeily in a position to do so.
  23. The problem is that the hospitality trade is hanging on by its fingernails. If they do not open, they cannot pay their staff. These staff need this money to live. I guarantee that most hospitality based businesses do not have enough in the bank to pay the wage bill for more than 2 weeks - so there is the conundrum. They are reluctant take out the govt backed loans as they will not really be able to carry these going forward (anecdotally heard of someone who applied for one and the interest rates was 18% - maybe the new rate had not been noted) but there is the conundrum. Businesses WANT to support their staff but do not have the means to do so - esp after the lean months on jan/feb/march. Alot are waiting for the spring/summer surge of weddings and parties to refill the coffers. The economics of fear will rule.
  24. The dulwich village junction really has been kicked up - confusion and gridlock if someone wants to turn right into court lane - the whole junction is frequently frozen. I suspect they have not revisited this and probably would not admit it is a mess. Heaven help us with this next round....
  25. Here we go - why am I not surprised..... usual council cock up and no doubt the traffic wardens will be buzzing around like wasps issuing tickets as fast as they can.
