  1. Hi James Would you be able to look into lee Scoresby?s concerns about the lovely old Lampposts bring removed on the path next to Peckham rye park. It does seem a shame if his concerns about their removal are valid. I have often thought how lovely these old lamps are along all those paths in that Area. Many thanks
  2. I believe you are allowed in a yellow box if you are turning right. Sounds like a real cock up in the phasing. Sorry to be harsh but I think think the whole thing has been a real mess. The swerve to go ?straight ahead? from calton/court lane/turney Does seem exaggerated and not safe and if the bikes phasing is not correct Then that is a disaster waiting to happen. Thank you for the link Re feedback
  3. This is interesting - I had exactly the same concerns about this pipe. For years it has been there and it has just been water that came out. Since the building work started there were other materials (sand?) coming out, but I thought that it was part and parcel of the temporary land disturbance. The building seems pretty finished, but there is still occasionally some sort of pollution (cement dust? plaster dust?) I took this photo on Thursday and sent it to the park warden voicing my concerns. ( I have seen this sort of cloudiness twice before) If it is either of the above then they could be harmful to wildlife. good idea to send to the site manager though and thank you for the number above
  4. Have just found this on the pavement opposite emily's fish bar, on under hill road near the junction with hindmans. It is very pale blue or grey, hooded coat which looks very new. I have popped in on top of a wheelie bin at 6.10pm today
  5. brilliant I am so pleased!
  6. I imagine that this is going to be a base for young people visiting london to sleep. We are in Zone 2 so they can have fun up town, see the sights etc and then have a crash pad. I don't see this as a natural pathway to hoards of drunken people staggering around the streets. If it helps the pub keep going then all well and good. I think we all have an idea of how hard trading is nowadays so every square inch has to pay.
  7. aha not just me then! I too was wondering if I'd been cut off. seems to be back to normal now tho
  8. anyone else unable to make calls on the EE network - cannot seem to log onto the website either? or is it just me?.
  9. Sorry to hear about this - very scary. Just for context there are Several very calm huskies in Peckham rye park who pose no threat at all. I do hope your wife revisits soon as this sounds like a horrible but unusual occurrence- and dreadful for the dogs too. What time did this jasper? Best regards and speedy recovery
  10. May be innocent but going thru green bins only
  11. the reason it closed was because they retired
  12. Any chance there is a description of the dogs? I'm a dog and cat owner So very keen to track these kinds of people down. If you could post a rough description of the dogs that would be a starting point. Many thanks and well done to the person who rescued the cat.
  13. Just a heads up - Yesterday a man tried to steal my sons bike from outside Ma & S on lordship lane at around 5.45pm. He had some bolt cutters hidden in a newspaper as he cut the lock. Luckily my son spotted him and kindly asked him to step away from the bike and move along. He then sauntered up lordship lane (mid thirties, bright red baseball cap) My son took some very good video footage of him which clearly show his face. If you had a bike stolen yesterday on LL it might be worth reporting as it could be the same chap? shops may have CCTV We have informed the police and will be passing the footage over to them.
  14. I have the same gripe re tasteless fruit - can I give a shameless plug to Potager Near the herne tavern on forest hill rd - their fruit and veg are fab and the strawberries Are much better value than Sainsbury's.
  15. So sorry that this happened. As a dog owner I understand that it is not ok for your Event to be interrupted like this. Apologies from the responsible dog owning community.
  16. Why do the wardens have no power to enforce?
  17. I would certainly point out that they need to pick up - surely it's the law? If you get a mouthful - well, not nice but ultimately they are in the wrong not you. As a dog owner I feel ok about saying to someone "do you need a bag? " and give them the chance to do the right thing. also I'm a mad middle aged lady so I'm always Spoiling for a fight....
  18. agree Miss T those roads are shocking and I have moaned about this before. I'm with Dimples - a fellow dog owner who is fed up with this. I think the friern road/goodrich areas are the same lazy owner. It's not on - but how the heck to catch these offenders??
  19. Will this apply to the Southwark camera cars that won't work unless their engines are running?
  20. Yes it all seems a bit woolly - intentionally so I would think - 'near' children's play areas (not in) I would think it a real shame not to be able to visit Sydenham woods. why are they doing this again, as James Barber pointed out, after the last time where it was decided that perhaps things could stay as they are. I also felt the questions about my personal life intrusive, but I filled in anyway simply so as to get my point of view across.
  21. Hi there I have filled in the survey - which I cannot help but be suspicious of the wording. The reason being that the council tend to crack a nut with a sledgehammer - only a year or so ago, there was a suggestion to put all dogs on leads in all southwark parks due to bad experiences north of the borough. I totally agree with picking up dog mess (which I thought was law anyway) and putting on the lead when asked by the park warden, and also putting on lead in the designated areas (by the pond) and to be excluded from the children's play area (very clearly designated). It would be a dreadful shame for dogs to be excluded from nunhead cemetery. As always, the type of people who refuse to behave responsibly are the types who will ignore any online questionnaire, let alone abide by the general rules. I understand where you are coming from Dadonabike, but I fear a draconian response from Southwark. (give them the sniff of a double yellow line and they go mad and make life as tricky as they can) As a daily (morning) peckham dog walker (just mine) the behaviour you are suggesting is what I see everyday anyway. Perhaps the later in the day dog walkers are a bit different? I suppose my fear is that Southwark Council get involved and it turns into a ???? nightmare.
  22. Glad to hear he's going to be ok. Skipping thru the "I said you said" shenanigans I'm sure there's a long history to explain what that's all about but ..... crikey!
  23. Oh lummy they are at it again. I feel that narrow roads and slightly obscured junctions make people slow down? By opening everything up - it encourages speed and recklessness. The wide opened space and clear vista around dog kennel hill school is a case in point.
