probably worth an email to the gardeners via the southwark website - this is the link for feedback/comments https://forms.southwark.gov.uk/DeptForms.asp?dept=25§ion=Complaints+and+feedback I was thinking exactly the same thing myself. The gardens and borders have been lovely, and the sexby garden is a delight, but the poor old fountain is looking a bit sad.

I am intrigued as to what these dog incidents are and look forward to seeing the data from Southwark. I am a dog walker, who walks twice a day in either dulwich park or peckham. I can honestly say I have never seen a nasty dog incident. Most dog walkers are awash with poo bags and ready to pick up - I have seen incidents where the owner was busy chatting and missed their dog however people will usually point that out to them. I do get annoyed when I see a pile that has not been picked up - very antisocial. Most park users are responsible, however I do find the piles of water bottles left by some of the footballers a bit annoying and the piles food packaging left by some of the picnic-ers also frustrating - but we would not dream of suggesting that these activities should be banned because of a few irresponsible people, or that groups of teenagers should be banned as some people find them intimidating (yes a bit far fetched I know).

crikey!! that does seem alot! They are my regular vets and I have had nothing like that - just the usual check up fees and normal vaccination charges.

I Understand that they are the consultants advising on the work to be done.

not sure if this the right section so apologies if not. Pillows - looking to finally replace out much worn grotty pillows with some decent quality ones. I always thought that goose/duck down was the way to go, but should I actually be going for a high quality hollow fibre/micro fibre one? (a friend swears these are better) do they actually offer good support and keep their shape? we don;t have any allergy issues, but would love to know what you would recommend.

I'm sorry but what IS going on?? one of the lovely things about where we live is the wonderful parks and trees (and tree lined streets) There seems to be a determined effort by the council to, without redress, hack about with the trees, regardless of whether it is necessary, and with no regard to wildlife. As far as I am aware, our local councillors have received a load of old waffle regarding the decisions taken, quoting external consultants - who I suspect (and I could be completely wrong) may also be responsible for making a complete hash of pollarding many of the boroughs exiting mature trees. Barry road is a marvellous example, however i must add that many roads in dulwich village have had their trees mullered as well. I suspect the council is hedging its bets in getting rid of as many mature trees as possible to as to prevent insurance claims. This has been mooted before, but a lack of response has been overwhelming. I have had not response from my emails to the council direct. I think (tho cannot be sure) that others have also been unanswered. This makes me suspicious. Yes I have had a glass of wine, but this has been rumbling on for months now, without a proper explanation or reassurance from the council.

Are they the same consultants who have 'done' the trees in the rest of the borough? -
The true cost of sending a child to University?

Last night my friend's rather distinctive Fiat 500 was stolen from her drive in West Dulwich. It is bright pink with green flowers and Kate Eyre Garden Design written all over. We are hoping that it has been dumped somewhere after a bit of joy riding - if you should happen to spot this anywhere could you please ring her on 07976 916318. I know stictly speaking this is a west Dulwich thing (on their forum) but if it is over here it would be great to find it many thanks

just hope the external consultants aren't the same people who have done all the trees on barry road and surrounding areas.... -
I'm waiting for LA and New york to be back......oh such a guilty pleasure (and jaw droppingly awful at times.....)

actually my fault - I mis read the OP - we have one bathroom and a downstairs loo, however even with the family bathroom and the luxury of an en suite (heaven!), I think I would still have a shower room - visiting guests etc. They are pretty small, and altho storage is imperative, I think alot of lofts have quite a lot of rubbish in them -mine included!
-
We are planning to do this soon, and an extra shower room is a complete must for us. As they become teenagers, a second shower room would be a flippin godsend.

I don't understand how a council can seem to emplouy 'experts' who seem to bugger everything up?? please excuse the professional terminology but I think that just about sums them up! -
about a month ago I was walking the dog (about half seven on the rye) and there were some people practising their drumming near the cafe. They were very good = suspect it might just be a monthly practise session. the dog was fascinated....

Is everyone's housework endless?
tiddles replied to sugarmouse's topic in The Family Room Discussion
no, house is always a tip. I have been known to blitz it and actually send photos to my husband to prove our house can look nice. Cooking, kids, cats, dogs, laundry. It never lasts, but I know that sense of sinking when the house looks a complete mess. Cannot afford a cleaner, and still haven't got the hang of this housekeeping lark (and I'm fifty!!) -
how bizarre, also in friern road. this happened some weeks ago, and I thought it was the phone. was told to do the reset networks thing. It happened again sunday evening, and yesterday evening, altho I have a good strong signal showing. I ha assumed my phone was faulty. My hushand has the same model and network and has had no problems.
